Chapter 653 What If Both Kids Stay Single in the Future

Diana's bright eyes darted around as she pondered whether Benjamin's words were true or just a trick for a little kid like her.

Benjamin glanced through the rearview mirror and added, "Or you could ask Louis."

"Louis," Diana asked softly. "Is what Dad said true?"

"See for yourself," Louis replied succinctly, as mature as ever.

"Me?" Diana asked.

Louis shifted his gaze from the window to her, his small lips moving as he asked, "Do you feel embarrassed when you play with Lon?"

"Of course not!" Diana answered quickly, explaining. "Lon gets shy easily. If I get embarrassed, he'll feel even more embarrassed."

If Diana ever felt embarrassed, it would definitely be to save face for Lon.

Benjamin had always said: "Take the initiative in everything!"

"Yeah," Louis understood this matter very well. "Dad is just like you."

Diana was first puzzled, then suddenly enlightened.

Daphne listened to Louis and Diana talking in the back, feeling a bit uneasy and starting to worry about something.

Back home.

After Louis and Diana finished washing up and went to their rooms, Daphne and Benjamin were also getting ready for bed.

Seeing Daphne still looking a bit serious after drying her hair, Benjamin put down the hairdryer and rubbed her head. "What's wrong?"

"Don't you think Louis and Diana are a bit too mature?" Daphne asked this question for the second time.

She had worried before when Louis seemed overly mature, but everything turned out fine as he was just precocious.

But now they even understood matters of relationships.

Benjamin sat next to Daphne, feigning ignorance. "Really?"

"Yes," Daphne answered firmly.

"I think it's fine," Benjamin was more accepting of this. "Ages three to twelve are the best times for brain development. They meet a lot of people and experience many things, so it's normal for them to understand."

Daphne asked her biggest concern, "What if they fall in love early?"

It was normal to have crushes during adolescence, as it was the most naive age.

But sometimes she heard about kids in kindergarten or elementary school understanding love, which always sounded strange.

"Louis is unlikely," Benjamin had a precise understanding of his own children. "Diana probably won't either. She plays well with the Fisher family's kids now, and when Emma's kids are born, she'll likely shift her attention to them."

Finding someone better looking than Lon and Louis would be difficult.

Kids were generally cute, but as they grew up, many didn't stay as attractive. As Diana's standards for beauty increased with age, it would be harder for her to find someone she liked.

"You should worry about them staying single in the future," Benjamin redirected her concern.

Louis aside, would Diana stay single?

"Diana's personality is mostly like mine, but her emphasis on looks is just like you," Benjamin told Daphne. "With a brother as good-looking as Louis, it will be hard for her to like anyone else."

"I'm not entirely focused on looks," Daphne defended herself.

Most people are drawn to attractive things, and she's no exception.

But growing up surrounded by good-looking people made her more likely to choose attractive partners.

Benjamin lifted the blanket and sat next to Daphne. "Really?"

"I also care about personality," Daphne explained. "If someone's personality really moves me, their looks just need to be acceptable."

"So if I got disfigured, would you plan to leave me with the kids?" Benjamin asked, holding her close and lowering his voice. "Hmm?"

"Of course not," Daphne instinctively refuted.

She might have initially judged by looks, but that changed over time.

"Why not?" Benjamin teased her.

"We're married. As long as you don't betray me, I'll stay with you even if you become ugly," Daphne said seriously. "But you, when I get old, might prefer young girls in their twenties."

Benjamin raised an eyebrow, that was questioning his loyalty.

Daphne seized the moment. "See, you can't even respond because I hit the mark."

"I should be saying that to you," Benjamin's lazy, charming voice replied. "You've been complaining about my age for a while."

"You said I was old when I came back from retirement."

"And you've mentioned it a few times since."

"Do you have anything to explain?"

"You're bringing up old issues," Daphne accused him.

"Don't try to push me away," Benjamin held her close, kissing her red lips. "I'm sticking with you for life, you can't escape."

Daphne felt Benjamin's hand tighten around her waist and instinctively tried to pull away.

Benjamin pulled her back. "Trying to escape?"

"I'm tired..." Daphne said preemptively, not wanting to be exhausted all night.

"What are you thinking?" Benjamin held her gently. "Even if you want me, I wouldn't."

Daphne felt like hitting him.

Benjamin tucked her in, his hand sliding to her lower belly.

Daphne quickly stopped him, glaring at him without much force. "Didn't you say no sex?"

"I'm checking if your tummy is cold," Benjamin said honestly, his large hand warm. "Your period is coming, you need to stay warm."

Daphne's tense body relaxed a bit.

Sometimes she worried about what would happen if Benjamin divorced her.

Over the years, Daphne, once very independent, had become half as independent, and if not for her personality, she might have been spoiled into a "little waste" by Benjamin.

Benjamin remembered her period, often when she was too busy to remember.

He also helped her choose outfits and accessories, and sometimes even took over her work.

This kind of unconditional love and care was addictive. Initially, Daphne tried to maintain her independence, but in the face of genuine love, she couldn't help but sink into Benjamin's tenderness.

Fortunately, she hadn't lost the skills and work abilities she had learned over the years.
