Chapter 677 We Are All Your Support
Diana didn't say much more, just assumed Lon didn't want to tell her.
After all, they were adults now, and it was normal for each to have their own secrets.
Lon didn't know Diana thought this way. After dropping her off at home, he went back.
Noe had been waiting in the living room for Lon. When he saw Lon come in with a heavy heart, he asked directly, "Why didn't you tell Diana you like her?"
Over the years, Lon had never missed giving Diana gifts on every holiday. They had a good relationship. Noe always thought that Lon should confess his feelings to her.
"She likes someone else," Lon said directly, sitting on the couch.
"That doesn't mean they're together," Noe's thoughts were similar to Diana's, still in a calm and steady tone. "Do you want her to always see you as a brother?"
"It is fine." Lon had already given up on confessing, his eyes darkening. "It's better than never being in contact."
Noe wanted to talk more, but Lon had already stood up and gone upstairs.
Before entering his room, Lon specifically told Noe, "Don't tell her about this."
Back in his room, Lon looked through his chat history with Diana. Even though it was just simple, everyday conversations, he couldn't help but smile.
Thinking about how Diana liked someone else made him feel a bit stifled and uncomfortable.
He had met her first, so why did everything change as they grew up?
But Diana wasn't as complicated as Lon thought.
Or maybe she just wouldn't choose someone she had grown up with to date.
To Diana, whether it was Lon, Noe, or Eddy, she had already turned her feelings for them into familial love. She naturally treated Lon as a brother, so she couldn't develop other feelings.
After washing up, Diana knocked on Louis's door.
Facing the always playful Diana, Louis's extremely handsome face remained calm. "What's up?"
"I'm planning to go to Ivrea City in a few days," Diana leaned against his door frame. "I probably won't be back for a while, so you'll have to spend more time with Mom and Dad."
"Going to see Caspian?" Louis guessed.
Diana gave a meaningful smile, clearly indicating he was right.
"I'm planning to tell him I like him," Diana almost never hid her feelings in front of Louis, her real brother. "How do you think I should do it so he'll accept me?"
"He won't accept you no matter how," Louis said something that hurt her feelings.
Diana walked in and sat on his chair. "Are you saying I have no charm at all?"
"If you do, he would have responded to the messages, emails, and letters you sent him from high school until now," Louis spoke the truth. "But what happened?"
No response at all, not even a message.
Most importantly, when Diana went to Ivrea City to find Caspian the summer after high school graduation, he didn't even meet her.
"Exactly, I need to find out why he didn't respond," Diana was very optimistic about things. "Now that I've finished my studies and you're managing the family business, I can focus on this."
"Do you like him that much?" Louis's deep voice rose slightly.
"I can't really say how much I like him," Diana was still a bit confused about her feelings. She had many suitors but had never been in a relationship. "But I just want to marry him."
Louis gave her a look.
Diana met his gaze. "What kind of look is that?"
"If I remember correctly, when you were four, you wanted to marry Lon," Louis said. "I should still have a video of you saying that on my computer."
Louis continued, "That doesn't mean you liked him. Maybe you just transferred your affection for toys and dogs onto him."
"I'm twenty-three," Diana kindly reminded him, "Not three."
At three, she might not have been able to tell, but now she was very clear.
"Why not someone else?" Louis instinctively wanted to help Lon. "Lon is also great, successful, good-looking, and treats you well."
"Lon is like you to me. I couldn't tell the difference when I was young, but now I can," Diana said rationally, and told him something else, "Besides, he likes someone else. Why are you talking nonsense?"
"Who?" Louis asked.
Diana shook her head. "I don't know, he didn't say."
"If a man treats you well, it means he likes you, except for blood relations," Louis wanted to help Lon reveal the truth. "Aren't you afraid the person Lon likes is you?"
Diana instinctively refuted, "Impossible."
"Why?" Louis said.
"What's wrong with you?" Diana looked at him in confusion. "Do you just not want me to find Caspian?"
Louis didn't want her to.
Caspian, who had disappeared for so many years, what was there for Diana to like about him?
He was good when they were kids, but that didn't mean it would last a lifetime.
"Don't worry, I'm not the kind of person who lets love take over my whole life," Diana also understood Louis's concerns. "If I try my best and he still doesn't like me, I'll come back."
"You don't have any feelings for Lon at all?" Louis asked again.
Diana honestly shook her head. "No."
She had always seen Lon as a brother. It would be strange if she developed any inappropriate feelings.
"I'm not going to Ivrea City just for him," Diana explained the situation, hoping he would support her decision. "I've been busy with my studies these past few years and haven't visited Charles much. This time, I can spend some time with him."
"Decided?" Louis asked.
Diana nodded. "Yes."
"Suit yourself," Louis knew he couldn't persuade her, but he couldn't help but worry. "You can go, and you can pursue him, but there's one thing you need to remember."
"Go ahead," Diana was very obedient at this moment.
"Mom, Dad, and I are your support," Louis didn't want her to get too involved. "You don't need to lower yourself to love anyone. If he rejects you, don't try to please him."
"Got it," Diana smiled.
"And protect yourself," Louis emphasized an important point. "Don't let him take advantage of you."
