Chapter 697 Progress on Multiple Fronts

At this moment, Alvin really wished Mark were here so he could ask for help.

Unfortunately, Mark had retired after helping Caspian get fully acquainted with the Lancelot Group. Right now, he was traveling around with his wife.

The money Mark made at the Lancelot Group was enough for him to live comfortably without working hard for the rest of his life.

"Sort these documents first." Alvin casually gave Diana some work. "I'll go ask Mr. Garcia."

"Okay," Diana agreed without any trouble.

Alvin took a deep breath and went to the president's office.

He could handle other things well, but this was something he wasn't very good at.

Standing in front of Caspian, Alvin voiced his concern, "Diana's workload is minimal. When there is no business trip, she has a lot of free time with nothing much to do."

"Have her evaluate the nearby restaurants and the comfort of the hotels we frequently stay at during business trips," Caspian suggested, trying every possible way to keep Diana busy. "After she's done, have her compile the results into a report and send it to you."

"Isn't there someone specifically assigned to do that?" Alvin asked, slightly puzzled.

Caspian gave him a look.

Alvin immediately understood. "I'll arrange it right away."

When Alvin assigned these tasks to Diana, he felt a bit guilty.

A personal assistant should be familiar with the hotels Caspian would stay at during business trips, but Caspian had specific rooms reserved in various cities, so there was no need to consider these things.

"These are the tasks you need to complete in the next few days," Alvin told her.

Diana agreed without any hesitation, "Okay."

"And..."

"What's up?"

"I have some records from other departments' evaluations. Do you want to refer to them?" Alvin, remembering what Charles had mentioned, subconsciously showed some favoritism.

"No need," Diana declined, knowing Caspian's intentions. "If you give them to me, Caspian might hold it against you."

She didn't want to involve anyone else in their matters. Evaluating hotels was an easy task.

In half a day, Diana collected all the necessary data and sent the evaluation results to Alvin as required.

Seeing the detailed results, even more thorough than those submitted by other departments, Alvin was surprised and quickly handed them to Caspian.

Caspian knew Diana worked fast, but he didn't expect her to be this quick.

After work, Diana stopped him in the parking lot. "Alvin, I have something to discuss with Mr. Garcia privately. Can I take him home for you?"

Caspian's cold gaze at Alvin clearly said, "You can try that."

Alvin got the message, swallowed hard, and reluctantly replied, "Sure."

Diana smiled slightly. "Thanks."

Alvin quickly left.

Charles had told him that if anything happened between Diana and Caspian, he didn't need to get involved.

"What do you want?" Caspian asked, scrutinizing Diana.

"Nothing, I just think you're very handsome and want to spend more time alone with you," Diana said as she got into the car. Seeing that Caspian hadn't fastened his seatbelt, she leaned over to help him.

Caspian quickly grabbed the seatbelt and fastened it himself. "I'm your boss, be mindful of the impression."

"It's after work now. There's no boss and secretary, only a pursuer and the pursued," Diana said quickly, starting the car.

The car drove out of the parking lot.

On the way back, Caspian thought Diana would chat with him, but she did nothing, just quietly drove him home.

When they arrived, Diana naturally asked, "Do you want me to stay for dinner or something?"

"Charles left you dinner," Caspian refused directly.

"I'd rather eat what you cook," Diana said sincerely, her eyes so genuine and healing that it was hard to refuse her.

But Caspian still hardened his heart and refused, "There's none for you."

"Alright then." Diana got back into the car, fastened her seatbelt, and waved at Caspian through the window. "I'll come back when you have my share ready."

"Wait," Caspian called out to her.

Seeing Diana's carefree and unrestrained demeanor, it was hard for him to imagine that she would be getting married in an arranged marriage in two months.

Diana paused as she started the car, "What's up?"

"Nothing," Caspian said lightly, the words he wanted to say stuck in his throat. "Be safe."

Diana responded with an "Okay" and drove away.

Caspian stood there, watching until her car's taillights disappeared from his sight, still in a daze.

Just then.

The girl Caspian had invited to take care of Diana last time appeared. She glanced at him and the departing car. "Was that your girlfriend?"

"She's not my girlfriend," Caspian explained, not wanting any misunderstandings. "Just a childhood friend."

"I see," the girl looked in the direction the car had gone and said to herself. "But I think she likes you a lot. Last time, when I was helping her bathe, I heard her calling your name constantly."

Caspian paused, "Really?"

"Yes." The girl nodded. "Don't you like her?"

Caspian didn't answer.

How could he not like someone who had been etched in his heart since childhood?

Back then, he had cut his hands several times while carving a doll for Diana, and the scars were still there.

"If you don't like her, you should let her know sooner," the girl continued. "A girl like her may seem happy on the surface, but it's easy for them to get stuck in their feelings."

"She won't," Caspian said confidently.

"You're not her, how do you know she won't?" the girl retorted. "If I'm not mistaken, she has never talked about her sad experiences in front of you, right?"

Caspian thought for a moment and realized she hadn't.

The girl sighed, "Girls like her always leave the happiness for others and keep the sadness to themselves."

After saying that, she turned and walked towards the elevator.

Caspian remained standing there.

[Done.] After getting home, the girl sent a message to Diana, [I sent you the recording. Check if I said anything wrong.]

After sending the message, she forwarded the recording of her conversation with Caspian just now to Diana.

When it came to pursuing someone, Diana always made progress on multiple fronts simultaneously.
