Chapter 407 Just Say "I Love You"
Benjamin took her up to the third floor. Daphne picked the room on the left, while Benjamin settled in the one on the right.
Once she got into the bedroom, Daphne dropped her suitcase.
The two bedrooms upstairs had all the basics like a bathroom and shower, plus a huge walk-in closet.
After she was done with her stuff, Daphne opened the wardrobe, thinking she’d check for dust.
To her surprise, the moment she opened the wardrobe door, it was packed with clothes and accessories, all for women.
She froze, her hand pulling back instinctively.
Right then, Benjamin showed up at the door.
After a quick look around and not seeing anyone, he walked in and saw her coming out of the walk-in closet.
Their eyes met, and Daphne couldn’t quite describe how she felt.
“Do you like it?” Benjamin glanced at the open wardrobe and asked, “If there’s anything you don’t like, let me know, and I’ll get it changed.”
“Benjamin,” Daphne called out.
“Yeah,” Benjamin replied softly.
Daphne opened her mouth, hesitating to ask.
Benjamin sensed she had something on her mind and asked, “What’s up?”
“Did someone live here before?” Daphne changed her question, her eyes full of curiosity. “Or do you have a sister or a female relative who stayed here?”
“No one lived here, and I don’t have any sisters,” Benjamin answered. “Why do you ask?”
Daphne’s usual confidence seemed to have vanished.
Seeing those clothes, she wondered if Benjamin had prepared them for her, especially since they hadn’t brought any change of clothes on this trip.
But she had just looked carefully; the clothes in the wardrobe were all brightly colored, not her style at all.
Daphne wasn’t really worried about the clothes. If she needed any, she had everything for her and Benjamin back at her villa.
She just felt weird, like she had suddenly intruded into someone else’s space.
Benjamin saw her silent for a while and asked again, “What’s wrong? Are you upset?”
“There are clothes in the wardrobe,” Daphne said, sounding a bit down.
Benjamin nodded, “Yeah.”
Daphne thought, just a “yeah”? No more explanation?
Benjamin immediately noticed her odd expression and asked, “Don’t you like them?”
Daphne paused, unsure what she didn’t like.
“It’s cool if you don’t like them,” Benjamin said, not thinking he had messed up. He took her hand and led her to the walk-in closet. “Just tell me what you don’t like, and I’ll get it changed.”
As he spoke, he opened the doors of the walk-in closet one by one.
Immediately, a dazzling array of clothes, shoes, bags, watches, accessories, brooches, scarves, and other items appeared before her eyes.
Daphne’s eyes widened in surprise.
“Which ones don’t you like?” Benjamin asked her, heading first to the brightly colored clothes. “These?”
Daphne opened her mouth, unsure how to start. She realized she had misunderstood Benjamin.
The wardrobe door she had opened earlier happened to be the one with the brightly colored clothes, but actually, each wall had a row of wardrobes, and the style she usually wore was in another wardrobe.
“Sorry.” Daphne was someone who would immediately apologize when she realized she was wrong, and guilt filled her heart.
What was wrong with her? Why had she become so sensitive?
Benjamin came over, his warm, dry hand ruffling her hair, his tone super patient and doting as he asked, "Why say sorry?"
"I thought..." Daphne trailed off.
If Benjamin knew she had doubted his good intentions, he’d be hurt.
"You thought these clothes were for someone who lived here before?" Benjamin raised an eyebrow, guessing from her words and reactions. "So you got upset."
Daphne nodded obediently, her head down, not daring to look at him.
Benjamin raised his hand and knocked on her head, saying, "Silly."
"Looks like I need to send you back for a full set of training," Benjamin said in a relaxed tone. "Otherwise, you'll keep overthinking."
"I was wrong," Daphne said, her head still bowed.
Benjamin responded with a hum.
"Sorry," Daphne said sincerely.
"Just saying sorry isn't enough." Benjamin looked at her leisurely and said, "Go to my room and unpack my suitcase, and I'll forgive you."
"What?" Daphne asked, puzzled.
"Go on," Benjamin urged.
Daphne reluctantly went, knowing Benjamin was trying to ease her mind. But the better he treated her, the guiltier she felt.
Benjamin watched her slowly walking away, a slight smile forming on his face. Daphne was really a fool.
A moment later, Daphne had unpacked his suitcase.
Just as she put down the last item and was about to report, she turned around and found herself trapped in Benjamin's arms.
His hands were on the dressing table, and his deep black eyes were locked onto her.
"All done," Daphne said, trying to stay calm.
"Do you remember what I said before?" Benjamin suddenly asked.
"What?" Daphne asked, raising her head to look at him.
"With me, you never need to say sorry. Just say 'I love you.' It's better." Benjamin knew she was sensitive because of her past, so he was particularly patient. "Understand?"
"But I was wrong," Daphne apologized again, believing that if she did something wrong, she should apologize.
"If there's any fault, it's mine for not telling you in advance," Benjamin said, always taking the blame. "I thought you usually wore black, white, and gray, so I prepared some different styles for you."
He had prepared various styles for Daphne, but the one she often wore was the most.
Daphne bit her lip, moved. "Why are you so good to me?"
"I want you to know that you mean the world to me," Benjamin said sincerely. "As long as you're happy, I'm willing to give everything."
Daphne fell silent.
"Stop overthinking, okay?" Benjamin said softly, pinching her face gently.
Daphne nodded in understanding.
Benjamin released her and handed her a set of keys with his right hand.
Daphne, puzzled, asked, "What's this?"
"The key to the door connecting our two bedrooms," Benjamin said, handing it to her. Pointing to a spot, he added, "If you want to come over, you don't have to go outside, just open that door."
As he spoke, he led her over.
Daphne paused when she saw it was a well-disguised door and asked, "You specifically had this made?"
"Yes," Benjamin replied with a nod.
"This villa area was built four years ago, right?" Daphne asked.
"Probably, I don't remember exactly," Benjamin replied.
"Why did you think of making a door here? Isn't it the same to come from outside?" Daphne asked curiously.
