Chapter 470 Benjamin is Really Impressive

"You can be," Daphne said, her eyes flickering a bit.

Benjamin chuckled and tapped her forehead. "You really wanna be a dude that bad?"

"Nope."

"Huh?"

"I just wanna see you get all shy," Daphne said, dead serious.

Benjamin was always Mr. Cool. Even when he made her blush, he never seemed to get flustered himself.

A smirk played on Benjamin's lips. "Then you better try harder."

Daphne went quiet. No matter how hard she tried, they were just on different wavelengths.

"Do you really prefer a simple proposal?" Daphne asked, thinking about her own proposal scene.

Benjamin gave a slight nod.

"Then let's go pick out a ring first," Daphne said, still puzzled. "When the moment feels right, I'll just pop the question."

"Proposing is my job."

"Says who?"

"I say so."

"Fair enough."

Daphne seemed to agree, but she was already picturing Benjamin's face when she proposed on the 12th.

They spent a sweet afternoon together, chatting and watching movies on the couch.

In the evening, Daphne had a thought. She personally controlling a drone to deliver the ring might seemed a bit weird, not cool or romantic enough.

She needed someone to help her control the drone on the side, so the ring could descend from the sky based on her gestures or words. That would be romantic. She decided to act on it right away.

Daphne slipped out of Benjamin's arms and planned to contact Gavin.

Emma and the others had their parts, and asking them for help might mess up the procedure. Lydia knew drones but loved watching shows too much, and asking her might ruin her fun. Gavin was the best choice—he was pretty free and into this kind of thing. It'd be good practice for his future proposal.

Seeing her suddenly stand up, Benjamin paused the movie and asked, "What's up?"

"Bathroom," Daphne said, walking away with her phone.

Benjamin grew suspicious because of her behavior.

He knew how much Daphne hated playing with her phone. Except for replying to messages and answering calls, she rarely touched it.

But lately, she seemed glued to her phone, even taking it to the bathroom, which was so not her.

Daphne must be hiding something from him.

Daphne had no idea she was under suspicion.

She slipped into the bathroom and sent a message to Gavin. When he didn't reply, she called him.

Gavin answered, "Help!"

Daphne, super puzzled, asked, "Help with what?"

Gavin sent her a location and said if she didn't come, he would die.

Daphne, totally confused, asked what was going on, but Gavin didn't reply, making it seem like the urgent message was just a prank.

Even though she knew Gavin wouldn't be in any real danger, she decided to go find him since he had always looked out for her since they were kids.

After putting her phone away, Daphne opened the door and walked out, only to bump into Benjamin leaning against the hallway.

"Benjamin?" She paused, feeling a bit guilty. "Do you need to go in?"

"I'm waiting for you."

Daphne was puzzled, wondering why he was waiting for her.

Benjamin glanced at the phone in her hand and asked, "How was it?"

"What?" Daphne was super confused.

"Playing with your phone in the bathroom."

Daphne froze, feeling a bit panicked.

How could she forget that Benjamin was super observant? Even without trying, he could easily notice anything unusual.

"I wasn't playing with my phone," Daphne quickly recovered. "I was worried there might be no toilet paper in the bathroom, so I brought my phone to contact you if needed."

"Really?" Benjamin's lips curved slightly, his tone rising.

"You don't believe me?"

"I do."

"You clearly don't."

Benjamin glanced inside, his eyes still holding a trace of unhidden amusement.

Daphne, unsettled by his smile, said, "Believe it or not. I'm going downstairs."

"Next time, remember to flush." Benjamin pointed out her flaw lazily. "Details matter."

Daphne felt a bit frustrated. She tried to say she forgot to flush and wanted to go back and act it out.

But before she could move, Benjamin took her hand and led her downstairs, not giving her a chance to act.

"I..."

"What do you want for dinner?"

"Huh?"

"Are we not eating dinner?" Benjamin pulled her to sit down, as if the previous incident was just a small interlude.

"Of course, we are," Daphne, not as cool as usual, said. "But I need to go out first. Gavin sent me a message asking for help, and I don't know what's going on."

"Do you want me to go with you?"

"No need."

"When will you be back?"

"Not sure yet. I'll let you know once I find out."

Benjamin agreed.

Their relationship was both as a couple and as independent individuals. If Daphne needed him, he would always be there. If she wanted to do something on her own, he wouldn't stop her.

After explaining, Daphne took her phone and left, driving to the location Gavin had sent.

On the way, Daphne felt a lot of emotions, once again marveling at how Benjamin was truly their leader. Even out of the organization, he could instinctively detect anything unusual.

Fortunately, the proposal was near, and she was smart enough. Otherwise, the proposal might have been stopped before it even started.

However, Daphne suddenly worried about the future. If they had kids and she wanted to hang out with them, she probably wouldn't be able to keep it a secret.

After all, Benjamin was really impressive.

While thinking about this, Gavin sent her a message: [My dear Daphne, are you here yet?]

Daphne glanced at it but didn't reply, focusing on driving. What could be so urgent to make Gavin so anxious?

At that moment, Gavin was in a restaurant, maintaining his gentlemanly demeanor as the president of the Murphy Group. Across from him sat a good-looking, fashionably dressed girl. It was obvious this was a blind date.

"Gavin, let's go shopping after dinner," the girl said with a smile, looking at Gavin with some admiration.

Gavin politely declined, "I'm in a bit of a hurry today. I have some things to handle at home. Maybe next time."
