Chapter 263 Signal Lost

Time flew by, but it also seemed to drag.

During the ship's journey, Michael called Charles, giving him rough instructions to go somewhere where someone would take him to meet Daphne.

Daphne had no clue about this call.

She stayed on the ship the whole time, wanting to explore, but Michael stopped her.

After more than an hour, when they were just five minutes from Butterfly Island, Michael had someone blindfolded Daphne and Kayla.

The ship slowly sailed into Butterfly Island.

If Daphne could see, she would have noticed the large signal-jamming towers and armed men.

They had the entire Butterfly Island surrounded.

Unfortunately, Daphne was unaware of all this.

She didn't know the danger ahead was far greater than she imagined, nor did she know that Michael had truly lost it.

When the ship docked at Butterfly Island, Daphne and Kayla were taken away; the other people on board the vessel gradually left.

In no time, only Nina and Michael were left on the entire ship.

Michael stood on the deck, looking at a yacht not far away, and instructed Nina, "No matter what noise you hear later, don't come back."

"What are you planning to do?" Nina had never seen him like this.

"I want to end things between Charles and me completely," Michael said with a smile, "In any case, if you want to stay alive, don't come back. I might not be able to control what happens here."

Nina frowned.

Michael gestured for her to leave on the yacht.

Nina didn't insist on staying. She took her computer and, as she was leaving the ship, asked, "If Charles no longer loves Daphne, what will you do?"

"I'll kidnap his entire family," Michael said coldly, though his face remained gentle, "I'll make him watch his family die one by one in front of him."

He was already starting to regret it. Only kidnapping Daphne was too boring; he should have kidnapped Charles's entire family right after the divorce. That would have made him feel better.

"You're a madman," Nina commented.

Michael laughed. "Aren't you too?"

"I'm leaving." Nina didn't respond to his comment, waved her hand with her back to him, and left on the yacht.

Michael was right. They were all mad.

However, she was different from him. Her madness and obsession had been cured when she met K. Now, she was carefree or heartless, depending on how you looked at it.

She could abandon everything at any time, except herself. Just like now, knowing Butterfly Island was dangerous, she still didn't take the girl named Daphne away.

It was 9:30 AM Gedser time. Butterfly Island time was synchronized.

From the moment Daphne was blindfolded and got off the ship, she had been memorizing everything around her.

Feeling the wind on her face and hearing the sound of waves hitting rocks, she guessed they were near a cliff.

Indeed, the bodyguards took Daphne and Kayla to the highest cliff on Butterfly Island and then removed their blindfolds.

As her vision returned, Daphne saw everything in front of her. Seeing armed guards standing there, she immediately looked around. This glance made her realize the situation.

The entire Butterfly Island was surrounded by armed men in a water-tight formation.Daphne couldn't count how many there were.

At this moment, she thought, 'Emma and Benjamin must not come here.'

Michael had so many subordinates here that even if Emma and the others showed up, it wouldn't change anything.

There were at least a few armed men here; it wasn't something a small group could handle quietly. If Michael saw one of them fall, he'd launch a bigger attack, and that was a risk she couldn't take.

Thinking of this, she took out the miniature locator Benjamin had given her.

She discreetly put it in her mouth, bit it, and swallowed it.

Such a precise instrument couldn't be crushed by hand or foot. She couldn't just throw it on the ground and smash it with a rock; Michael would notice immediately.

Swallowing it was the most reliable method.

Meanwhile, Benjamin was with his friends, sitting in a car, one of them in a military uniform.

Benjamin explained the precautions when he suddenly noticed that the locator he had given Daphne was gone.

The red dot no longer appeared on his watch.

Emma and the others called him immediately, "Benjamin, why is Daphne's signal gone?"

When the other signals disappeared, they knew she must have entered a place with signal jammers, but didn't Benjamin say the locator he gave Daphne was the most advanced and couldn't be jammed?

"Return to Gedser," Benjamin immediately ordered.

As the former team leader, he had to stay absolutely calm and rational at all times.

Several people asked almost simultaneously, "Why?"

"There must be a major change on Butterfly Island. It's dangerous to go without equipment. Return to Gedser and wait," Benjamin said calmly, the last few words sounding more like a promise, "I'll bring Daphne back."

Daphne wasn't careless.

The signal disappearing couldn't be because it was discovered; it must be because she realized the danger was far greater than she estimated.

That fool. How could he find her without the signal?

"What's wrong?" the person next to him asked, hearing his serious tone.

"Michael must have taken significant action," Benjamin said directly. Michael was someone they had to capture. "This time, it won't be easy."

"When has our mission ever been easy?" the man next to Benjamin laughed casually, not worried. "Don't worry, the higher-ups have ordered that we must bring Michael back this time."

"Let's go." Benjamin's palms were sweaty.

They were still half an hour away from Butterfly Island.

Benjamin closed his eyes to calm down, analyzing all the major actions Michael could take. The worst scenario was that Michael's men would surround the entire Butterfly Island, making it impossible for outsiders to enter.

If that were the case, Daphne would be in danger.

From the moment Daphne destroyed the locator, she hadn't planned to return.

If she were alone, she would immediately injure Michael severely and then jump into the sea below.

However, there was Kayla and the soon-to-arrive Charles.

She couldn't act recklessly.

These were two innocent lives.

Moreover, it would have been best if Michael had been captured alive; he had information that the organization needed to interrogate.

Daphne kept thinking, but with so many people around and a mentally unstable Michael who could go crazy at any moment, there was no safe way. She really couldn't think of a secure way.
