Chapter 625 Do You Want to Meet Him?

This issue never came up again after things got better between them. However, it would still pop into Daisy's mind every now and then. Because of the past, she still worried about whether it would happen again.

"Sorry, Daisy, I messed up," Austin said, kneeling in front of Daisy and holding her small hand in his big one. "I swear, from now on, I'll only listen to you. I won't ever hurt you again, and I'll talk to you before making any decisions."

"Okay," Daisy replied softly.

Austin's face lit up. "You believe me?"

Daisy said, "I believe you're sincere now, but if you stop loving me one day, these words will just be empty promises."

"No way!" Austin quickly defended himself.

"Why not?" Daisy shot back.

She knew that right now, Austin liked her and only had eyes for her. But she still worried that his feelings were just temporary, that he'd stop loving her after winning her over.

Daisy didn't want to take that risk.

"Tomorrow, I'll transfer my assets to you and Molly," Austin said seriously, not joking at all. "Let Daphne oversee it."

With Daphne in charge, there'd be no way for him to back out or create loopholes. Austin wanted to give Daisy a sense of security, showing her he intended to love her for a lifetime.

"No need," Daisy refused.

"I'm really sorry for what happened before. I'll spend the rest of my life making it up to you," Austin said, grateful to Daphne for taking care of Daisy and Molly before, and deciding to handle this quietly later. "Can you feel comfortable being with me?"

"Aren't we already together?" Daisy replied naturally.

Austin stood up and sat beside her, holding her hand tightly. "I know you're still not very assured, but I'll prove with my actions that I'm worth it."

"Okay," Daisy responded, a bit distracted.

"Daisy," Austin said, still feeling sorry, wishing he could go back in time and slap himself.

Daisy let him lean against her.

"I will love you truly and respect all your decisions," Austin continued, holding her in his arms. "If you don't want to get married, I'll stay by your side forever. If you want to get married, I'll give you the wedding you like."

"Alright," Daisy said, getting out of his embrace and standing up. "You go prepare the things we need to take out later, I'll go check on Molly."

"Okay," Austin agreed obediently.

In the following days, they interacted as usual.

One Saturday, Austin told Daisy he had some errands to run and then went to find Daphne.

Daphne was a bit surprised to see Austin since they didn't have much contact. Even though he was now with Daisy, Daphne still regarded him with indifference.

"Hello, Austin," Diana greeted warmly.

"Diana, you're so sweet!" Austin was very familiar with the two kids since Molly often hung out with them. "I brought gifts for you and Louis. See if you like them?"

Diana always praised gifts from anyone. "I like them! Thank you, Austin!"

"I need to talk to your mom about something," Austin coaxed Diana, patting her head. "Can you go upstairs and play with Louis?"

"Okay," Diana said and pretended to leave immediately. However, instead of leaving, she hid by the spiral staircase to eavesdrop.

Daphne noticed Diana's mischievous behavior and waved at her, signaling her to go play. Diana immediately made an "OK" gesture and ran off.

After Diana left, Daphne got straight to the point. "What do you need from me?"

"I want to transfer all my assets to Daisy and Molly," Austin said, handing over a detailed list of his holdings. "I need you to be a witness to ensure everything is done properly."

Daphne was puzzled. "Couldn't you find someone else?"

"Daisy only trusts you," Austin said, knowing how close they were.

"Why didn't you bring her along?" Daphne asked.

"She refused. I want to get all the transfer procedures done so that all she needs to do is sign," Austin said straightforwardly. "I want her to feel secure with me."

Daphne glanced at the documents Austin brought and said, "If you trust me, I'll have my people handle this for you."

"I trust you," Austin replied quickly, knowing Daphne's integrity was beyond question.

Daphne nodded.

For the next hour or so, Austin discussed the general distribution of assets with Daphne.

After finishing the discussion, Austin looked around and suddenly asked, "Is Benjamin home?"

Daphne wondered why he was asking.

"Is he?" Austin asked again.

"Upstairs," Daphne replied, then asked, "Do you need something from him?"

"No." Austin still vividly remembered the challenge from a few years ago that had left him quite scared. "I just have something to discuss with you, but it's not convenient for him to know."

"What is it?" Daphne suddenly became curious.

"Let's talk about it when he's not around," Austin said, pursing his lips, afraid of getting beaten up.

Daphne simply said, "He's busy working in the study. He can't hear our conversation here."

But it wasn't just about whether he could hear or not; it was about being intimidated by his presence! Seeing Austin's hesitant and indecisive look, Daphne was about to let him go. She had no interest in forcing him to speak.

"It's actually nothing," Austin said after some mental preparation, finally speaking out and betraying Charles. "Did you know Charles came here?"

Daphne paused, momentarily dazed. That name hadn't been mentioned for a long time.

"There's a branch of the Lancelot Group here. It's normal for him to come." Daphne replied naturally.

"He doesn't come for business," Austin said, pursing his lips. He wanted to say something but changed his mind at the last moment. "Do you want to meet him?"

Seeing Austin's expression, Daphne made a guess. "Is he in trouble?"

"No," Austin replied quickly.

Daphne looked at him, waiting for him to continue.

Austin hesitated, struggling with his words. He wanted to say, "He misses you and can't let you go. He came to Gedser specifically to see your child."

But every time he was about to speak, he couldn't help but think of Charles' cold eyes and emotionless demeanor. If Charles knew he had betrayed him, the consequences would be dire.

"Forget it, it's nothing," Austin said at the last moment, standing up and ending the conversation. "Just pretend I was talking nonsense."
