Chapter 430 If It's Free, Why Not Take It!

Chris: [Is Benjamin your boyfriend?]

Daphne glanced at Benjamin, who was busy on the phone, and shot back: [Yeah.]

Chris: [I'm pregnant with his kid.]

Chris: [I confronted him, and he told me to get rid of it.]

A kid? Benjamin's?

Daphne's head was spinning.

Benjamin wrapped up his call and noticed her staring at her phone like she'd seen a ghost.

"What's up?" Benjamin asked, pulling her into a hug.

Daphne blinked, trying to process.

Benjamin looked into her eyes, confused.

'What's going on?' he wondered.

"You..." Daphne stammered, searching for words. "Your mistress says she's pregnant with your kid, and when she asked you to step up, you told her to get rid of it."

Benjamin looked baffled.

Daphne handed him the phone, letting him see for himself.

She didn't know who this person was, but it had to be a prank or someone trying to mess with their relationship.

She trusted Benjamin's loyalty.

Benjamin read the messages and immediately recognized Chris's alternate account.

"It's probably Chris messing around." Benjamin handed the phone back and explained, "We had a fight last night, and I guess he wants to stir the pot."

"I get it," Daphne replied, her eyes flickering.

Chris sent another message: [Can you talk to him, ask him not to force me to get rid of this baby?]

Daphne: [Okay.]

Chris, hanging with Sierra, was puzzled, thinking, 'Okay? Is she serious?'

Chris: [Really!]

Daphne: [Yeah, the kid's innocent.]

Chris was stunned, doubting Daphne's sanity.

Sierra noticed his reaction and casually asked, "What's up?"

"Nothing." Chris didn't dare spill the beans, fearing a smackdown.

Sierra shrugged and ignored him.

Chris leaned in, curious, and asked, "Can I ask you something?"

"Go ahead," Sierra replied.

"Suppose my mistress got pregnant, and I told her to get rid of it, but she came to you for help, asking to keep the baby. What would you do?" Chris genuinely wanted to know how a normal person would handle this.

Sierra's eyes turned dangerous.

Chris quickly added, "I said suppose! Just suppose!"

"I'd lock both of you in a cage and drop it in the ocean," Sierra replied coolly.

Chris pressed on, "So you wouldn't let her keep the baby?"

Sierra eyed him suspiciously.

Finally, she asked, "Why are you asking so specifically? Do you have a mistress?"

"Of course not, you're my one and only," Chris said earnestly. "I'd never cheat on you."

Sierra rolled her eyes and didn't respond.

Chris continued chatting with Daphne: [Thanks. You're really kind.]

Daphne: [Do you have money? If not, I can send you some. Raising a kid is expensive.]

Chris was speechless.

He had planned to use this to make Daphne doubt Benjamin, causing a little drama between them to get back at Benjamin for last night.

But now, it seemed he had totally miscalculated.

"Sierra," Chris called, handing her the phone. "When you get a sec, talk to Daphne. I think there's something off with her brain."

Sierra was completely puzzled, not understanding how Daphne got involved. After reading their chat history, she got the whole picture.

She handed the phone back to Chris and said something that shocked him, "Her response was fine."

"How is it fine!" Chris exclaimed, completely confused. "When I asked you before, you said you'd sink us into the sea. Her response is clearly dumb."

"You're the dumb one," Sierra said calmly.

Even though she hadn't interacted much with Daphne, she knew Daphne wasn't someone who'd put up with this nonsense.

Given that, there was only one reason: Daphne knew the person she was chatting with was playing a prank.

Chris furrowed his brow in confusion and asked, "What do you mean?"

"Don't mess with Benjamin and Daphne," Sierra warned, "they're way smarter than you think."

What did she mean? He still didn't get it.

Sierra didn't say more, internally sighing, 'How can you be so dumb?'

Seeing that Chris hadn't replied for a while, Daphne chatted with Benjamin, "He hasn't replied."

"He's probably doubting himself now," Benjamin said calmly, hugging her.

Daphne asked curiously, "What did you guys argue about last night?"

Benjamin stayed silent on this one, not ready to spill the beans.

"What he did won't harm your relationship, but it'll cause you trouble," Daphne speculated, "From what I've seen, Chris may be a bit silly, but he's not someone who'd do such things."

This could easily ruin a couple's relationship.

Chris wouldn't act recklessly, so...

"Did your argument last night have something to do with Sierra?" Daphne asked.

Benjamin didn't hide it and told her about threatening Chris last night.

Daphne was stunned, not expecting Benjamin to be so childish.

"Aren't you afraid of ruining his relationship with Sierra?" Daphne asked.

Benjamin understood them both and asserted, "It won't. Sierra knows Chris well. Even if I told her, her reaction would probably be the same as yours. But Chris might get beaten up by Sierra."

Daphne was relieved and shifted her focus. "So what did Chris do to provoke you?"

Benjamin wouldn't cause trouble for no reason, unless Chris provoked him first.

"Did he threaten you with your nickname?" This was the only thing Daphne could think of.

"Stop guessing. You won't figure it out." Benjamin avoided answering, his gaze falling on her phone. "He sent you a message."

Daphne's attention was diverted.

Chris: [I don't have money, but don't worry, I'll work hard to support this kid. Thanks for your help.]

Daphne's gaze lingered on the message for a while before replying: [Give me your account number. I'll transfer $2 million to you.]

Really? He didn't care if it was an act anymore and immediately copied his account number. A free $2 million? Why should he refuse!
