Chapter 55 You’re pregnant.
It's strange to say. In Gedser, everyone thinks she is omnipotent and powerful. But Daisy always felt that she needed protection, said she was sense of direction issues, and said she would make a good film to earn money to support her.
At times, she wondered when she had given Daisy the impression that she needed protection. These thoughts swirled in her mind as they sat in the cozy booth.
Daisy had seated her, and after placing their orders, she initiated a conversation with Daphne; Why do you suddenly want to leave Ivrea City? Is your man is going to go to other cities for development? " Daisy knows about Daphne's marriage.
But neither of them mentioned their names, Daisy didn't ask, and Daphne didn't say. The two girls have a lot of topics to talk about together, most of the time is to eat and drink gossip work, fashion, makeup and other things, and rarely talk about feelings, unless something is wrong.
Coupled with the fact that Daphne rarely attends Charles parties and the two are not announced, naturally no one knows.
"No." Daphne didn't keep it a secret, "We're going to get divorced soon."
The news had such a big impact on her that she never thought the two would divorce: "are you kidding me?"
Didn't you say that you were married in a flash, and that he treated you well? "
"The divorce petition has been filed." Daphne said bluntly; "I can get my divorce certificate next Wednesday."
"You let me calm down first." Daisy was in a bit of a mess. It was something she had never thought of. For such a nice girl as Daphne, how can anyone be willing to get divorced?
After calming down a little bit, she tentatively asked; "Who brought it up?"
"Him."
"Why?" Asked Daisy.
Daphne did not reveal the real reason and only said, "It's not suitable." Daisy understood not to pry further.
If she knew that Charles wanted a divorce because he had a crush on someone else, she would definitely be angry. She didn't want Daisy to worry too much.
"It's okay, thank him, then!" Daisy comforted Daphne, not wanting her to be unhappy. "You will find someone even more handsome and better than him."
Daphne nodded and made a sound of agreement. The two of them chatted for a while, and the food was served. During dinner, Daphne unintentionally noticed that Daisy had a hickey on her neck, which she hadn't noticed before because of the scarf.
Daphne looked over. "Daisy."
"What's wrong?" Daisy replied, typing a message on her phone, glancing sideways.
Daphne asked, "Are you dating someone?"
"Impossible," Daisy laughed and spoke.
Daphne pointed to her own neck but looked at her eyes. "Then what's going on here?"
Daisy realized something and her body tensed. Daphne noticed this slight reaction.
"I got married," Daisy said casually, her tone not much different from before. "It was my husband." Daphne's surprise was no less than Daisy's reaction when she found out about the divorce.
She didn't receive any news about it. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"We have a business alliance," Daisy said quickly, half-truth and half lie. "Once his crush changes his mind, we will get a divorce. It's not important, so I didn't mention it to you."
"In that case, why would he..." Daphne didn't know how to continue.
"It's a grown-up world, and we each take what we need," Daisy laughed carelessly. "Let's not talk about this. Let's think about where to go after dinner. I haven't strolled around the streets for a long time."
She didn't mention that she was being forced. Last night, when that man came back, he still had the scent of another woman's perfume and lipstick stains on him. She had felt disgusted and resisted, but the power imbalance between men and women made it difficult.
Fortunately, she managed to anger him, and he didn't proceed. Otherwise, she was afraid it would harm the child in her belly.
"If you have any problems, tell me. I can help you," Daphne finally said, telling her this.
"As long as you are fine, I will be relieved," Daisy said lightheartedly. "If you face any difficulties after divorce, remember to let me know. I will work hard to support you!"
Daphne said, "I should be saying that to you."
"I have a lot of money," Daphne said.
"How much?"
"14 billion dollars." Daisy was shocked. "It was given to me during the divorce."
Daisy gasped. “14 billion dollars?” She slapped her thigh. "You can't possibly earn this much from playing games."
"Could he be feeling guilty for cheating?" Daisy, excited but also hitting the key point, asked, "Or did you catch him doing something? That's fourteen billion dollars, not fourteen thousand dollars. And definitely not fourteen yuan.” She couldn't believe that a man, in a situation where he didn't love a woman, would be willing to give away so much money.
She pinched her forehead. Daisy's personality really makes it easy for people to let their guard down. She just didn't want to worry her too much by mentioning the money, and as a result, she overlooked the reasons behind it.
"He really cheated?!" Daisy widened her eyes.
After considering for a moment, Daphne replied with, "It's similar to your situation."
"Crush?"
"Yeah."
"Fuck!" Daisy became agitated, and her little emotions rose rapidly. "I can't believe I thought that person treated you well, that he was someone worth entrusting your life to. Turns out, he's just a scumbag."
Daphne didn't respond. She didn't dare to. Daisy's emotional outburst was not something an ordinary person could handle.
"He got rid of you with fourteen billion dollars?" Daisy blurted out, the flames in her heart rising rapidly. "Dealing with this kind of person, you should make him leave with nothing. He didn't even mention his crush when he married you."
"No!" Daisy stood up. Daphne was at a loss.
Before she could react, Daisy had already grabbed her hand. "Take me to see him. I have to give him a good scolding! How dare he bully my little sister! Once I'm furious, I'll expose his despicable behavior and let the keyboard warriors of justice curse him to death!"
"No need." Daphne held her other wrist, and her words halted halfway. "I'm going to...with him soon." She didn't even say the words "get divorced." She stopped talking.
Daisy lowered her gaze and noticed that something was not right with her expression. She immediately sat down and asked with concern, "What's wrong?"
Daphne took her hand and started to examine her pulse, more seriously than ever before.
Daisy was stunned by her actions.
"Are you pregnant?" Daphne asked tentatively, looking at her with seriousness.
