Chapter 674 He's Making Things Difficult for Me

Daphne felt a bit complicated inside, not quite sure how to handle the conflicts between the children.

Louis understood Daphne well. "Mom."

"Hmm?" Daphne looked up at him.

"The biggest problem isn't actually what I just mentioned." Louis was particularly familiar with the feelings between the children, especially between Diana and Lon.

Daphne paused. "Then what is it?"

"If I'm not mistaken, Lon wants Diana to personally pick something for him," Louis shared his perspective. "but Diana delegated this task to Charles."

Diana's original intention was that she wasn't good at choosing, so she asked Charles to help her.

Lon thought that as long as it was something Diana personally chose, it would be the best.

Hearing this, Daphne somewhat understood. "I see."

"Do you want me to talk to her?" Louis asked.

"I will," Daphne knew that when Diana was upset, she wouldn't really listen to Louis. "You go rest first."

Louis nodded.

A while later.

Daphne went to Diana's room to find her.

At this moment, Diana was looking down at the wooden doll in her hand, appearing listless and lacking energy.

Daphne sat next to her, her gaze falling on the toy in her hand, and asked knowingly, "This wooden doll is beautiful, did you buy it in Ivrea City?"

"No," Diana's mood improved a bit, and she answered seriously, "Caspian made it for me."

"I see, Caspian is really skillful," Daphne praised.

A slight smile appeared on Diana's face. "Yeah!"

Daphne chatted with her for a while.

Seeing that Diana's mood had improved a bit, Daphne tentatively asked, "Are you still mad at Lon?"

"Yes." Diana nodded honestly.

"Can you tell me why you're mad at Lon?"

"He made things difficult for me," Diana expressed her grievance, becoming more upset when she thought about it. "I brought him so many things, but he insisted on having this one in my hand. When I didn't agree, he even told me not to play with him anymore."

"That is indeed making things difficult," Daphne talked with her, patiently guiding her. "But do you think Lon is that kind of person?"

Diana blinked, thought for a moment, and asked confusedly, "What do you mean?"

"Before today, what kind of person did you think he was?" Daphne asked slowly.

Diana thought for a moment and quickly answered, "A very, very good person!"

He would think of her when there was something delicious, and also when there was something fun.

He even invited her first when there was a fireworks show at his home.

Besides Louis, Lon was the best!

"Then what do you think made him act like that just now?" Daphne liked to let children think for themselves, only guiding them when they couldn't figure it out. "Or in other words, why do you think he got mad at you?"

"Because I didn't give him this beautiful doll?" Diana asked tentatively, but before Daphne could answer, she shook her head. "No, Lon isn't like that."

Daphne patiently waited for her to think.

Diana thought for a long time but couldn't figure it out, so she asked Daphne for help, "Mom, I don't know, can you tell me?"

"Switch places with Lon," Daphne taught step by step, letting her learn to empathize first. "See if there's anything to be mad about."

Diana shook her head. "No."

"Everyone's personality is different, and what they care about is also different," Daphne directly told her. "Lon is mad because none of the gifts you brought him were personally chosen by you."

"Is there a difference?" Diana didn't quite understand.

"If I personally choose a birthday gift for you, and I ask someone else to buy one for you, which one would you prefer?" Daphne asked her.

Diana answered almost without thinking, "The one you chose."

In other matters, Diana didn't care much. But when it came to gifts from Daphne, Benjamin, and Louis, she cared a lot.

After saying this, Diana suddenly understood, with a look of realization. "I get it now!"

No wonder when she gave the things to Lon, he asked if she had chosen them herself. Lon seemed to become unhappy after she said she had asked Charles to choose them, and they were all the best toys and some delicious food from Ivrea City.

"Really?" Daphne asked.

"Yeah," Diana regained her energy and said seriously, "Lon was wrong to make things difficult for me, but as a friend, I was wrong for not fulfilling my promise to Lon."

Diana decided to talk to Lon.

"Do you want me to help you arrange a meeting with Lon?" Daphne usually let the children handle these things themselves.

"No," Diana refused, speaking very seriously, "I'll go find him with Louis after I prepare the New Year gift, apologize for what happened before, and then let him apologize to me."

Daphne breathed a slight sigh of relief. "Okay."

Daphne didn't have much experience in educating children.

When Lydia was little, she just needed to take care of her and protect her, and Alexander and Jasmine would explain the principles.

But when it came to her own children, Daphne realized it was hard to strike the right balance, as some things looked different from an adult's perspective compared to a child's .

Before Diana could finish choosing the gift, Lon came.

After leaving Diana's house angrily, Lon regretted it on the way home. He regretted getting mad at Diana and making her unhappy.

So, not long after he got home, he asked his driver to bring him over.

When Daphne saw Lon, she was a bit surprised. "Lon?"

"Daphne, can I see Diana?" Lon bit his lip, looking a bit nervous and uneasy. "I want to talk to her."

"Go ahead," Daphne didn't stop him.

Lon thanked her and went upstairs.

As he moved up the stairs, he felt a lot of unease and guilt.

He didn't know if Diana would forgive him, didn't know if she was crying or thinking about whether it was worth being friends with him.

Lon was really overthinking.

After Daphne talked with Diana, Diana pulled Louis to help her choose things.

As a New Year gift and an apology gift, Diana was particularly careful in her selection, she cared so much that when Lon arrived outside their little study, they didn't notice.

It wasn't until Lon called out to Diana that she snapped out of her gift-selecting state.

Diana blinked at Louis. "I think I heard Lon's voice."
