Chapter 241 My Sister Isn't Very Good at Cooking

As soon as she said that, they all looked at her in unison, as if they hadn't expected her to say that.

Lydia paused. "Daphne, you..."

"What?" Daphne elongated her tone.

"Thank you, Daphne!" Nick suddenly stood up and bowed to Daphne at a ninety-degree angle, saying, "Please rest assured, I will definitely take good care of Lydia and never let her suffer any grievances!"

"Alright." Daphne's expression softened a bit.

Lydia immediately smiled, her eyes curving into crescents.

She walked over and hugged Daphne, her nose tingling, "Daphne, I love you."

Daphne cared for her so much.

How could she possibly disagree with her feelings?

She was really so silly!

"I love you too." Daphne felt a bit more at ease.

Since entering, she had been observing Lydia's boyfriend and concluded that he genuinely cared for Lydia.

He knew what she liked to eat and what she didn't like, and all sorts of little details and unintentional acts of care confirmed to her that Nick loved Lydia.

After dinner, Daphne decided not to meddle in their affairs anymore.

At their age, they should be enjoying their dates to the fullest.

"Nick, I won't hang out with you this afternoon." Lydia had some things she wanted to discuss with Daphne.

Nick understood. "Alright."

When they left, Daphne went to pay the bill.

After all, she was the elder, so she had to pay.

After parting with Nick, Lydia sat in the passenger seat of Daphne's car. On the way back, she asked again, "Daphne, did you truly approve of me being with Nick?"

"If I didn't agree, would you two not be together?" Daphne rarely joked with her.

"Yes!" Lydia nodded.

She trusted Daphne. If Daphne didn't want her to be with Nick, there must be a reason.

"I suddenly feel a bit sorry for your boyfriend," Daphne remarked.

Lydia puffed her cheeks. "Daphne!"

"That kind of thinking is wrong. Neither my opinion nor Dad's should be your final judgment. You should have your thoughts," Daphne explained, "Because we might not always be right, and we don't fully understand everything between you two."

Lydia was confused. "So, should I listen to you or not?"

"If our opinions conflict, we should sit down and talk it out," Daphne said, "We should understand each other, consider everything, and then make a decision."

"So, what do you think of my boyfriend?" Lydia really cared about her sister's opinion.

"He's alright; he treats you well, but he's a bit timid," Daphne said directly, "As for other things, I don't know yet."

Lydia fiddled with her fingers. "He's not actually timid."

Daphne asked, "Why?"

Lydia said, "He just gets a bit nervous meeting my family."

However, she was just Lydia's sister. If he was already nervous meeting her, what about when he met Lydia's parents?

Lydia didn't know what she was thinking and made a guess. "I bet he won't be as nervous meeting Dad as he was meeting you."

Daphne asked, "Am I that intimidating?"

Lydia said, "You're not intimidating; you just have a strong presence, kind of aloof, you know."

Daphne remained silent.

Lydia felt truly relieved. "If you agree, that means Dad will be okay with it, too, and I can be at ease."

Daphne said, "Dad hasn't met him yet."

"Dad listens to you!" Lydia made a very valid point.

Hearing this, Daphne suddenly understood everything. She looked at Lydia with affection and then drove her to the apartment she lived in.

At 1:30 PM.

Daphne and Lydia arrived at the residential area.

As they got out of the car and walked towards the elevator, they saw a tall, handsome man in a black coat getting out of the car, carrying two suitcases.

Lydia's eyes widened. "Daphne, there is such a handsome guy in your residence!"

This man was on par with Charles in terms of looks!

Daphne, who had just locked the car, didn't pay much attention. "You have a boyfriend."

"I'm scouting for you," Lydia said mischievously, "Look at him! He's probably 6 feet tall, with a straight back and an extraordinary aura. He'd be perfect for you."

Daphne followed her gaze.

She was curious about who could earn such praise from Lydia.

She was a sucker for good looks, and so was Lydia. If someone weren't exceptionally good-looking, Lydia wouldn't praise them.

"Daphne!!!" Lydia grabbed her arm, her voice deliberately lowered but still excited. "He seems to be looking at us! Is he looking at you? Do you know him?"

Could he be falling for Daphne at first sight?

As she said this, Daphne saw the man Lydia was talking about.

She stiffened, feeling a bit unlucky. How did she run into Benjamin?

"The elevator is closing. Aren't you coming?" Benjamin reminded her when he saw Daphne standing there like a statue.

Daphne was about to say she'd take the next one, but Lydia pulled her along. "Let's go!"

Daphne was helpless.

She couldn't avoid him too obviously.

If Benjamin noticed, he'd definitely think she was trying to escape.

"Thank you," Lydia said brightly after entering the elevator.

"No problem," Benjamin, seeing the usually calm Daphne, said slowly, "I'm a friend of your sister's, Benjamin."

He had heard Lydia's voice when he got out of the car.

He didn't catch everything she said, but he knew she was Daphne's sister.

Lydia was instantly curious and hopeful about the possibility of Benjamin and Daphne being together.

"Great, now we know each other!" Lydia's smile was adorable.

Benjamin nodded slightly.

Lydia was even more eager to matchmake them!

Benjamin seemed much easier to get along with than Charles. Although he had only said two sentences, she felt he was very approachable.

She had to matchmake them!

"Benjamin, can you cook?" Lydia asked, naturally starting a conversation.

Daphne was stunned.

She hadn't even spoken yet.

Benjamin answered, "I can."

"My sister isn't very good at cooking," Lydia said, glancing at the floor indicator, "Can you invite her to eat when you cook? Don't worry, I'll cover the food costs!"

Daphne was even more bewildered.

Daphne raised her hand and knocked on Lydia's forehead. "Don't be nonsense. Don't trouble others when you're outside."

"Benjamin is your good friend." Lydia didn't miss the look Benjamin gave Daphne after entering the elevator.

He definitely had feelings for Daphne.

Daphne frowned, thinking Lydia was being a bit too rebellious today. "Lydia."

"Sorry," Lydia quickly admitted her mistake, sticking out her tongue.
