Chapter 659 How Can You Be More Stubborn Than My Brother

"Take the child to the hospital," Charles said to Bodhi.

"I don't think it's necessary," Bodhi said, a bit apprehensive about what might happen next. "A couple of days of rest will be fine."

Charles didn't say much, just looked at him silently.

Bodhi started to sweat a little.

"Thank you for your concern," Caspian spoke again, his face showing no emotion. "I'm fine, I don't need to go to the hospital."

After saying that, he turned and walked towards home.

Diana called out to him, but Caspian didn't look back, leaving her with a cold and distant figure.

Bodhi breathed a sigh of relief and smiled apologetically at Charles. "You see, he doesn't want to go himself. As his father, I can't force him."

"Charles..." Diana's face showed concern.

"Mr. Lancelot, I'll head up now," Bodhi said and left.

In no time, he disappeared from their sight.

Diana didn't understand, at this moment, she was just stubbornly wanting to know one thing. "Charles, are we really not taking him to the hospital? His injuries look so bad."

Sometimes, even a small bump would hurt her a lot, let alone Caspian's body covered in bruises.

"He doesn't want to," Charles explained to Diana, rubbing her head. "We can't force him."

"Will his dad hit him again?" Diana asked tentatively.

Charles pressed his lips together, unsure how to answer.

Louis spoke up at this moment, "Yes."

"What should we do then?" Diana looked at the entrance, her round eyes full of worry. "Should we tell the police? I don't want him to be hit."

"It won't work," Louis, though young, had a clear view of things. "He'll tell the police he fell accidentally."

"Why?" Diana was very confused.

Louis said, "You'll understand when you grow up."

Although he hadn't interacted much with Caspian, Louis could roughly understand his thoughts.

They could help Caspian once, but not for a lifetime.

Bodhi was his father, someone who would be with him for life. Being protected once would only make things worse.

The reality was much like what Louis thought.

As soon as Caspian and Bodhi got home, Bodhi started scolding him, "Considering your behave earlier, I'll let it go this time. But if you don't get the best grades next time, I'll break your legs!"

"Got it," Caspian said expressionlessly and went to his room to do homework.

It wasn't until the evening that he came out of his room to prepare dinner. It was hard to imagine this was something a six-year-old had to do.

After seven in the evening, Caspian had the food ready and called Bodhi from the study.

Bodhi came out, glanced at the food on the table, and then at Caspian's bruised arm, his eyes full of complexity. "Do you hate me?"

"No," Caspian said, his tone devoid of emotion. "You are my father, and everything you do is for my good."

"I didn't mean to do this, but you must become a great man," Bodhi said, patting his head. "Understand?"

"Yes," Caspian replied in the same emotionless tone.

Bodhi picked up his utensils and started eating. After taking a bite, his demeanor changed from gentle to particularly irritable. "You expect me to eat this?"

Caspian's hand holding the utensils tightened slightly.

He knew very well that he was about to be beaten again.

Just at that moment, someone knocked on their door.

"Go open the door," Bodhi suppressed his irritation.

Caspian obediently got up, opened the door, and saw Diana standing outside with a big smile. His hand on the doorknob paused.

Diana grinned widely, "Can I come in and sit for a while?"

"No," Caspian suppressed all his emotions and closed the door.

Diana continued knocking.

Caspian ignored it and returned to the table.

He knew very well what would happen if he invited Diana in.

Bodhi would be polite because of the guest, but once they left, Caspian would face his scolding and whipping.

Bodhi would say, "Do you want others to laugh at me?"

He would also say, "How about you call the police and have me arrested?"

Diana could only help him for a moment, but not for a lifetime.

"Who was it?" Bodhi asked.

"The girl and the gentleman from earlier," Caspian didn't hide it, leaving the choice to him.

Hearing this, Bodhi immediately stood up to open the door.

Seeing Charles, he put on a few apologetic smiles. "Sorry, Mr. Lancelot, the child is ignorant. Please come in."

"Sorry to bother you," Charles said politely.

They were invited in.

Bodhi knew Charles's status and ability, so he cautiously asked, "Mr. Lancelot, may I ask what brings you here this evening?"

"I have some business to discuss with you," Charles said seriously, glancing at Diana and Caspian. "Alone."

"Of course!" Bodhi agreed immediately.

He intended to send Caspian to his room.

Charles, seeing Diana's bright eyes, said, "Let them go outside. We'll call them back when we're done."

"Alright!" Bodhi didn't hesitate.

Moments later.

Caspian and Diana were sent outside.

Standing in the elevator with Caspian, Diana initiated a conversation, "What's your name?"

Caspian remained silent.

"My name is Diana, what's yours?" Diana continued to ask.

The elevator reached the first floor.

Caspian stepped out, completely ignoring Diana. Any other child might think this boy was hard to approach and decide not to play with him.

But Diana, was always enthusiastic and direct.

She didn't feel discouraged at all, just thought Caspian was shy.

"This is an ointment Charles gave me. It can relieve your pain," Diana took out a small bottle from her pocket and handed it over, her voice soft.

Caspian sat on a nearby bench and refused, "No need, thank you."

"Take it."

"No."

"How can you be more stubborn than my brother?" Diana reasoned with him. "You should be kinder to yourself."
