Chapter 755 Mr. Cole, Whose Leg Are You Going to Break?

The attitude and tone clearly showed that they didn't believe Lyra's words.

Lyra tirelessly repeated her identity, "I have a fiancé. If you really can't bear to break ties with the Silverwood family, you can marry Brielle off. She and the Silverwood family's son are quite a match."

Rhett Silverwood from the Silverwood family was not good-looking and loved to brag and show off.

No one in the circle thought highly of him.

Greasy, flamboyant, and loved to harass people.

Her father arranged the marriage with them, obviously attracted by the conditions offered by the other party.

"In terms of a good match, you and Mr. Silverwood are truly a perfect couple." Brielle had always been pushing for this, only if Lyra married poorly could she truly secure her position, "Right, Dad?"

"Brielle has other marriage arrangements." Vance didn't have deep feelings for his daughters, even for Brielle, it was all about benefits, "Tomorrow, you will meet Mr. Silverwood, have a good talk with him. If the talk doesn't go well, you can forget about the things your mother left for you."

Lyra couldn't be bothered to talk to them anymore and started walking upstairs.

The things her mother left for her were always locked in Vance's study safe. She had tried to get them before but never succeeded.

Vance was very guarded against her.

"What are you doing!" Vance shouted angrily.

"Since you won't give them to me, I'll have to go get them myself." Lyra said directly, her tone still cold.

"Stop!" Vance shouted.

Lyra ignored him.

She continued walking upstairs.

"Stop that unfilial daughter." Vance knew Lyra was stubborn, just like her mother, "Don't let her go up!"

As soon as he finished speaking, several bodyguards appeared to stop Lyra.

Lyra still wanted to push through.

Vance ordered the bodyguards, not treating Lyra as his daughter at all, "If she dares to force her way through, break her legs!"

"Mr. Cole, whose legs are you planning to break?" A clear but authoritative voice suddenly rang out.

Then, Louis's noble and indifferent figure walked in.

Everyone's eyes turned to the door.

The butler stood at the door looking troubled, feeling very guilty, "Mr. Cole, Ms. Cole, Mr. Reynolds is here."

"Mr. Reynolds, what brings you here?" Vance paused, his previously cold face suddenly changed, and he warmly greeted him, "Please, have a seat."

"No need." Louis had no intention of staying long, his gaze fell on Lyra, who was blocked by the bodyguards, and he said slowly, "I'm just here to take my fiancée home."

Everyone was stunned, as if they couldn't believe it was true.

Vance was shocked, after a brief moment of losing his composure, he quickly confirmed, "You mean, Lyra is engaged to you?"

"Yes." Louis admitted openly.

Vance felt his heart couldn't handle such a big shock.

He never thought that their small Cole family could climb up to Louis!

If Louis was really Lyra's fiancé, wouldn't that mean their family could live a smooth and worry-free life even if they did nothing?

Brielle panicked upon hearing this, her hands clenched tightly.

How could someone like Lyra be connected to Louis?

"Mr. Reynolds." Brielle forced a smile, her strong unwillingness gave her the courage to speak, "May I ask how you and my sister met?"

"We met during an academic exchange." Louis casually made up a reason, his cold tone implying, "I found her very smart, much better than those who only know how to spread rumors."

Brielle's smile froze.

She immediately realized that Louis was mocking her.

Just as she was about to defend herself, Louis ignored her and took two steps forward, asking Lyra, who was blocked by the bodyguards, "Is everything done?"

"No." Lyra turned around, glanced at him, then looked back at Vance, "My dad won't give it to me."

Louis followed her gaze.

He didn't say anything.

But Vance felt immense pressure.

"What nonsense are you talking about, when did I say I wouldn't give it to you?" Vance understood the situation, he knew what was beneficial for the Cole family, "That thing is your mother's wedding gift to you, you haven't married yet, how can I give it to you?"

"Mom said to give it to me when I turned 18." Lyra refuted.

"Your mother said to tell you after you turned 18." Vance's attitude was much better than before, his tone no longer stern, "Give it to you after you get married."

Lyra frowned, dissatisfied with his words.

Her mother saw her talent in her research direction and said she would give her a gift when she turned 18.

But before she turned 18, her mother fell ill due to her father's and his mistress's actions.

By the time she found out, it was too late.

Naturally, the thing fell into her father's hands.

"Sorry, Mr. Reynolds." Vance was very good with words, at this moment he seemed like a loving father, "Lyra gets confused when it comes to her mother's matters, don't mind her."

Lyra couldn't argue at this moment.

There was no evidence to prove when the thing should be given to her.

If Vance didn't give it to her, even a lawsuit wouldn't help.

"I know her character very well." Louis firmly supported Lyra and got straight to the point, "Since it's her wedding gift, it's the same to give it to her now. We will register our marriage in a while."

"This..." Vance was extremely surprised, but outwardly he appeared hesitant.

If he previously suspected that Louis was someone Lyra found to act, now he somewhat believed it.

The phrase "register our marriage" was not something that could be said casually.

Especially not by someone like Louis.

"Feel free to speak your mind." Louis said unhurriedly.

"As a father, as long as Lyra is happy with you, nothing else matters." Vance said earnestly, not worried at all that Lyra would expose him, "But Lyra's mother had a last wish."

Lyra realized what he was about to say and instinctively spoke, "I don't know about any last wish from my mother."

"She passed away when you weren't there, of course you don't know." Vance found a perfect excuse, "You haven't shown any interest in dating or marriage over the years, so I didn't mention it."

"You..." Lyra wanted to say something.

Louis held her hand, giving her a reassuring look, then continued talking to Vance, "What was Mrs. Cole's last wish, feel free to say."
