Chapter 627 You've Been Punished for Eighteen Years

"You've been grounded for eighteen years already," Louis blurted out, adding, "No candy."

"Louis!" Diana protested, her voice tinged with emotion.

This was the first time in days that Lon had given her candy. If she didn't accept it, Lon would definitely think she didn't want to hang out with him anymore.

"It's just one piece of candy, let her have some," Lon said to Louis. Even though he was a year older than Louis, it often felt like Louis was the older brother.

"She has cavities," Louis pointed out, "The doctor specifically told us not to give her sweets."

Upon hearing about the cavities, Lon gently said, "Let me see."

"It's just a little, not serious," Diana explained. "The doctor said she shouldn't have sweets."

"Are you sure it's 'fewer'?" Louis caught her slip of the tongue.

Diana immediately drooped her head. Louis's intelligence didn't always work in her favor; every time she tried to do something, he would interrupt.

"If you have cavities, you shouldn't eat sweets." Lon took the candy from her and offered words of comfort, "I'll save the candy for you, and when the doctor says you can eat it, I'll give it to you."

"Okay," Diana agreed happily.

Louis felt emotional for the umpteenth time; who was really her brother?

"Lon, do you have cavities?" Diana continued, trying to find another topic. "If you do, you should see a dentist early, or it will hurt a lot."

"No," Lon replied, continuing to chat with her.

Watching the two of them resume their conversation, Louis looked out the window alone, genuinely worried that if things continued this way, Lon would soon become his brother-in-law.

After all, Diana chose Lon in every situation, even over that very handsome foreign boy, Eddy.

"Lon, which girl in your class is the prettiest?" Diana suddenly asked.

Both Louis and Lon paused, a shared instinctive reaction, puzzled by the sudden question she posed.

"I don't know," Lon answered truthfully; he really didn't pay attention to these things.

"Can you start noticing the girls in your class?" Diana said very seriously, "I want to be friends with her, and maybe she can be my sister-in-law when we grow up."

Louis's brow furrowed coldly. He stared at Diana, who kept talking, and said mercilessly, "Aren't you supposed to be looking at the scenery ahead?"

"Lon said he was bored and wanted me to chat with him," Diana replied earnestly. "The teacher said we should learn to help others."

Lon always indulged Diana, saying, "Yes, I'm bored."

Louis decisively ignored the two of them, knowing well that when it came to playing, Diana always found an excuse.

The car continued to drive forward, and Louis remained silent while Diana and Lon engaged in an endless conversation.

As they neared The Fisher Mansion, Diana finally quieted down.

Diana looked at Louis, who was resting with his eyes closed, and leaned over, her voice soft. "Louis, we're almost there."

"I know," Louis replied coolly.

"I got a secret," Diana whispered in his ear.

Louis raised an eyebrow and turned to look at her, clearly curious about what she wanted to say.

Diana leaned close to Louis and whispered in his ear, "Besides Mom and Dad, the person I love most is you."

Louis was stunned, and his ears turned slightly red.

"Lon can't compare to you," Diana said, then sat back in her seat, looking cute and well-behaved.

Seeing Diana's mischievous look, Louis ultimately gave in to her sweet words, saying, "Remember what Mom and Dad said when we get to Lon's house Come home after dinner, don't linger."

"Okay," Diana agreed.

Louis continued, "No sweets."

Diana nodded again.

Louis said awkwardly, "Okay."

Diana kissed Louis on the cheek, her voice soft. "Louis is the best."

"Didn't I tell you not to kiss boys casually?" Louis reminded her, feeling soft inside. "You're four years old now, you need to know the difference between boys and girls."

"Louis isn't just any boy," Diana said, "You're my brother."

Louis gave up trying to reason with her.

When they arrived at The Fisher Mansion, Lon took on the role of host and invited Louis and Diana to the living room.

Though Diana usually seemed lively and mischievous, she was very polite when it mattered.

After entering with Lon, she greeted Gilbert first, then greeted Charles, who was playing with the Fisher family.

"This is Charles," Lon introduced.

Diana blinked and paused for a moment. He looked as handsome as Benjamin!

"Hello, Charles," Diana, always curious about good-looking people or things, moved closer. "You look so handsome. Can I take a picture with you?"

Louis stopped her, "Diana."

"It's okay." Charles looked at Louis and Diana with gentle and doting eyes. "Let her take the picture."

Diana found Charles very approachable; he spoke nicely, looked handsome, and had a gentle smile!

"Louis, come take a picture with me and Charles." Diana quickly stood next to Charles.

Charles, seeing her cute demeanor, couldn't help but ask, "Do you want me to hold you for the picture?"

"No need, I can stand next to you." Diana smiled. She remembered Daphne and Benjamin's advice not to let strangers hold her. Even though Charles seemed very gentle and kind, she decided to follow their advice.

Louis took out his small camera from his backpack and snapped a picture of Diana and Charles. The photo turned out beautifully, showcasing his excellent photography skills.

"Thank you, Charles!" Diana didn't ask for a second picture, as they weren't very familiar. "You're really handsome!"

"Thanks, you're very cute too." Charles's lips curved slightly, his expression softening.

Smiling, Diana went upstairs with Louis to call Noe. Louis remained polite and respectful, nodding slightly to Charles as they left to show his gratitude.

Charles watched their backs, his eyes deepening.

Gilbert asked from the side, "Do you still like Daphne?"

"None of your business," Charles replied coolly.
