Chapter 648 Why Are You So Dumb
During the following period, Brian stayed at Richard's house.
One time, Daphne and Daisy took the kids camping and invited Elara and the others along.
Coincidentally, they saw Brian and Richard at the camping site.
Elara was sitting with them, her gaze falling on the two who were standing close together not far away. "Is that Richard and Brian?"
Elara waved at them. "Richard! Brian!"
The two looked over at the sound, saw familiar faces, and walked over. One was as laid-back as ever, the other with a playful grin.
"What are you guys doing here?" Brian, ever the social butterfly, started chatting right away.
"It's not important why we're here. What's important is you two..." Elara looked at the two standing very close together, a suspicion forming in her mind. "Made up?"
Brian's eyes showed pride. "Of course, with me involved, how could it not be?"
"Oh," Elara said.
"Well, you guys go have fun. We won't disturb your hard-earned alone time," Elara's eyes curved into a crescent moon shape, her whole demeanor full of energy.
Brian greeted everyone, and then left with Richard.
After they walked away.
Brian asked Richard, "Why does Elara seem a bit off?"
"Does she?" Richard tilted his head.
At this moment, Richard had let go of his inner conflicts and returned to his usual lazy but slightly aloof self.
Brian countered, "Doesn't she?"
"No," Richard replied decisively, very serious in his tone. "You're overthinking it."
Seeing them getting along so well, Austin, sitting next to Daisy, had some thoughts.
He reached out and poked Daisy's waist, his eyes testing.
"What are you doing?" Daisy didn't quite understand his behavior.
"Look at them, all paired up now. When are we going to make it official?" Austin whispered to her.
Hawk and Selene were sorted out, Molly had no objections, and over the years, Austin had shown his loyalty and growth. Maybe it was the time now?
"We'll see," Daisy replied to Austin and continued chatting with Daphne and the others.
Austin looked on eagerly.
At this moment, Austin really hoped Benjamin and Jesse were more possessive, so they wouldn't let Daphne and Elara hang out with Daisy, and he could openly join in.
For the rest of the day, Daphne, Elara, and Daisy chatted while Benjamin and the others took care of the kids.
Molly noticed Austin's mood and said to him, "You don't have to watch me here. If you want to find Mom, go ahead."
"No," Austin refused.
Daisy was important, and so was Molly.
Daisy spent most of her time on set or tutoring Molly at home, rarely coming out to hang out with Daphne and the others.
Now that she finally had some time, it was better to let them chat happily for a while.
"Dad," Molly spoke up.
Austin withdrew his gaze from Daisy and talked to her. "What's up?"
"Do you think Mom likes you?" Molly asked seriously.
"Of course she does," Austin said very directly. He was confident and assured about this. "If she didn't like me, she wouldn't have made me her boyfriend, let alone let me move into her current home."
"Then there you go," Molly replied.
Austin looked a bit confused.
"If Mom likes you and made you her boyfriend, do you think you're far from getting married?" Molly, though young, understood a lot about these things. "Just follow the process."
"What do you mean?" Austin asked.
Molly stopped playing with her toy and looked at Austin with her big, bright eyes. "What do you think?"
Austin was even more confused, his face showing nothing but bewilderment.
"Learn from Daphne and the others," Molly reminded him, for the first time thinking that the usually smart Austin seemed a bit dumb. "What steps are needed from boyfriend to fiancé and husband?"
"A propose?" Austin tentatively said.
Molly nodded. "That's right."
Austin was still hesitant, clearly worried that Daisy wouldn't accept it. "Your mom won't be mad, right?"
"If Mom made you her boyfriend, it means she tacitly agreed to the future relationship progress," Molly clearly had high emotional intelligence. "Why are you so dumb now?"
Before today, Austin had always been a smart and capable figure in Molly's mind.
But now, Molly just thought Austin seemed a bit dumb.
Austin wondered, was he dumb? He was just afraid that what he did would make Daisy unhappy. He was being overly cautious and hesitant, not dumb.
