Chapter 719 Avoiding Due to Inferiority
If the doctor knew Caspian's current situation, they would definitely be shocked.
After all, based on what was previously known about Caspian, he was someone who wanted to monopolize Diana. He didn't want to share anything about Diana with anyone else, nor did he want her to have anyone else besides him.
But now, he has changed.
The more Diana loved Caspian, the more he reminded himself not to hurt her. Over time, some things he forced himself to do gradually became willing.
"Caspian," Diana called out to Caspian as they were about to arrive.
He still had some emotions in his heart, and he had some wild thoughts about what was going to happen and the people they were going to meet. "What's up?"
"When we go in later, you must hold my hand," Diana told him bit by bit, showing how much she cared about him. "Except when eating, you can't let go for a moment."
Caspian pressed his lips together and said nothing.
Diana urged, "Did you hear me?"
"Okay," He agreed.
"And you have to show that you like me the whole time," Diana thought about what they were going to do later and said in advance. "Don't give them a chance to doubt me."
Caspian still agreed.
Five minutes later.
The two arrived at the restaurant they had agreed upon.
As soon as they entered the private room, Eddy and Chloe Scott's eyes turned to them. When their gaze fell on Caspian beside Diana, they were a bit surprised, as if they had never thought he would be so handsome in person.
"Are you Caspian?" Eddy asked, even though he already knew.
Over the years, although Caspian managed the large Lancelot Group, he rarely appeared in public.
This was why Eddy and others didn't really know what Caspian looked like.
Caspian held Diana's hand, wearing the suit he wore to work, looking very cool and handsome. "Yes."
"I'm Eddy, Diana's good friend since childhood," Eddy introduced. "This is Chloe, Diana's good friend."
"Hello." Caspian nodded slightly.
At first, everyone was quite reserved and didn't start asking questions right away.
They ordered food together.
While waiting for the food, Eddy looked at Caspian several times before gossiping with Diana, "I used to think you were ungrateful for rejecting Lon, but now it seems, not bad."
Diana glared at Eddy, hadn't she told him not to mention Lon in front of Caspian?
"Did you really know Diana since childhood?" Chloe took the opportunity to change the topic.
Caspian was still immersed in Eddy's previous words, and responded lightly, "Yes."
"Are you now the president of the Lancelot Group?"
"Yes."
"Are you really together?"
"Yes."
Caspian was quite indifferent the whole time. Besides Diana, he didn't really want to interact with too many people.
Chloe glanced at Diana and had a thought. "Diana has a lot of bad habits, why not break up with her and try being with me? Although my family background is slightly worse than Diana's, I can give you anything you want."
Chloe pressed, "How about it?"
"Chloe!" Diana gritted her teeth.
Chloe and Eddy had agreed to follow the plan, but they all changed.
"Don't be angry, I'll introduce you to someone better when I see one," Chloe said, winking at Diana. "You knew each other since childhood, but you still had to chase him yourself, which shows Caspian doesn't like you that much."
"Right?" Chloe even asked Caspian.
"That's not true," Diana answered for Caspian and explained. "He has liked me since childhood."
As soon as she finished speaking, Caspian's gaze fell on Diana.
Chloe's eyes shifted, guiding the topic. "If he liked you since childhood, why didn't he confess? You're obviously lying."
"She's not lying," Caspian said. "I have indeed liked her since childhood."
Diana paused.
Eddy's eyes became a bit subtle.
Only Chloe, thinking of helping Diana make Caspian more honest, continued, "Stop speaking for her. If you really liked her, how could you not confess for so long? Besides, she loves to have fun, are you okay with that?"
Diana gave Chloe a look.
"Is she really your friend?" Caspian expressed his doubt.
"Yes." Diana nodded, pointing to her own head. "She's usually nice, but today something's wrong up here."
With a simple sentence, Caspian understood.
This was Diana's friend testing him to see if he loved Diana.
"You're the one with something wrong up here." Chloe and Diana were really good friends, caring for each other while occasionally bickering. "Didn't you notice your boyfriend has been avoiding my questions? He doesn't truly like you."
"I like her, and I love her." Caspian held Diana's hand, his gaze falling on Chloe, and said word by word, "In my heart, she is the best and irreplaceable."
"Then why didn't you confess to her?" Chloe retorted.
Caspian's eyes deepened, and his thin lips pressed into a straight line.
Diana never expected this to happen. She gave Chloe a look, signaling her to stop asking, and tried to change the topic. "The food is here, let's eat first."
"I'll eat after he answers." Chloe was a bit stubborn about this.
Chloe admitted that when she first saw Caspian, she thought he was very handsome and matched well with Diana.
But She felt it was unfair for Diana.
Diana was such a good person, yet Caspian had rejected her so many times.
If it was because he didn't like her, it would be understandable.
But Caspian clearly liked her and still tortured Diana, which was really too much.
Chloe just couldn't stand it.
Diana wondered why Chloe was so stubborn today.
Seeing Chloe's serious face, she had to give Eddy a look, signaling him to change the topic.
But Eddy pretended not to see and looked away, even supporting Chloe, "I think Chloe makes sense."
"You two..." Diana tried to stop them.
"Because I feel unworthy of her," Caspian spoke as Diana was about to, his gaze meeting Eddy and Chloe's. "She is as beautiful as the rising sun, bringing warmth to everyone around her. She is better than anyone else in the world."
Because of inferiority, he avoided.
Because of his illness, he escaped.
Because he cared too much, after Diana sought him out once or twice, Caspian couldn't bear to let go.
