Chapter 736 Why Did You Kick Me
"Lon's drinking capacity is way better than Caspian's." Chloe murmured a bit worriedly as she sat down next to Eddy. "Will they really be okay drinking like this?"
"It's just a drink, no big deal." Eddy was quite assured.
Lon and Caspian were not frequent drinkers, and both were in good health. An occasional drink wouldn't be a problem.
"You stay here, I'll go out and call Diana." Chloe was not very confident about the situation here, as both of them were quite important to Diana. "Find an excuse to slow them down."
"No need..." Eddy thought this was a man's business.
Chloe sternly instructed him, "You have to."
Eddy scratched his head. "Alright."
A moment later.
Seeing the two of them still drinking one glass after another, Eddy decided to follow Chloe's advice and talk to them.
"Why don't you guys take a break?" He spoke up the moment they put down their glasses. "Drinking like this is quite harmful to your health, how about adding some games and drinking slowly?"
"I'm fine with it, up to him," Lon said gently.
Caspian's eyes darkened as he put his glass on the table. "What game?"
"Each of you tell a story about you and Diana, and see whose story is more meaningful." Eddy didn't really know how to play this kind of two-man rival game, so he just made it up. "We'll be the judges, and the loser drinks."
Both of Lon and Caspian agreed in unison.
Eddy breathed a sigh of relief, glanced at both of them, and tentatively asked, "Who goes first?"
"Since I met Diana, I haven't missed any of her birthdays," Lon started..
Everyone let out a sigh of admiration. "That's good."
Eddy nodded in approval.
Caspian rubbed his glass, pursed his lips, and said nothing.
Everyone's eyes were on him, waiting for him to speak.
"Your turn," Lon kindly reminded.
"The first time I met Diana, I was being beaten by my dad," Caspian looked at Lon and recounted their story word by word. "She appeared in my world like a ray of light and saved me."
"This..." Eddy looked at the others.
He had never been good at judging which was more meaningful, so he left it to the others to decide.
"Lon's story is good, not missing any birthday shows real dedication."
"Indeed, there was a year when Lon had an important match, but he still rushed back in the middle of the night."
"But I think Caspian's story is also good."
"We are Diana's friends, and they both like Diana, so we should see which story is more meaningful from Diana's perspective," Someone suggested.
Eddy concluded, "Yes, Lon wins this round."
Caspian, knowing this result, unhesitatingly drank the three glasses in front of him.
After drinking, he looked at Lon and told the second story, "The first time Diana came to Ivrea City, I gave her a wooden doll, which became our token of love."
As soon as he said this.
As soon as he said this, everyone's eyes were on Lon.
They didn't know that Lon had had a disagreement with Diana over this doll, but they knew how much a token of love meant to Lon.
"You win." Lon didn't say anything, just picked up the glass and drank.
"Why did he win without you saying anything?" Eddy didn't understand his move and felt a bit frustrated. "Did you forget about the time when you and Diana played house as kids? She even announced to the whole neighborhood that you were the one she would marry when she grew up."
Everyone was stunned. Was this guy really stupid or just pretending? How could he bring up something like that in such a situation?
"She wants to marry Caspian now." Lon was self-aware, which was why he didn't mention the past.
"It doesn't matter who she wants to marry now, the point of you two telling these stories is not about winning, but about which story is more meaningful to Diana." Eddy tried to reason with him. "All childhood memories are meaningful."
Lon had already drunk the wine and said to Caspian, "Continue."
In the following rounds, sometimes Caspian drank, sometimes Lon drank, they almost took turns.
Chloe was still on the phone in the hallway, and as soon as the call connected, she spoke, "Where are you?"
"Driving." Diana was on her way to the hotel to talk to Caspian about Lon coming to see him tonight. "What's up?"
"Do you want to come over?" Chloe didn't directly mention the matter.
Diana continued driving with the speaker on. "I can't, I need to go to the hotel to find Caspian, is something wrong over there?"
"Caspian is here with me," Chloe straightforwardly informed her.
Diana was full of questions, she turned her car around and asked the key question, "Where are you?"
Chloe gave her the address. Diana drove straight there.
"Lon is drinking with Caspian." Chloe glanced towards the private room and pinched her worried brow. "They've been drinking for a while now, I'm worried something might happen if they keep drinking like this."
"Wait, I'm coming over right now." Diana sped up.
At this moment, her mind was full of confusion. Why was Caspian drinking with Lon? Didn't he know he couldn't handle alcohol?
After finishing the call, Chloe returned to the private room and saw that Caspian had drunk three more glasses, she couldn't help but frown.
"You should stop," She suggested. "Caspian can't handle alcohol well, if he keeps drinking, he'll definitely get drunk."
"No." Caspian's cheeks were already slightly flushed, but his eyes were still clear and cold. "Continue."
Seeing him like this, Chloe didn't persuade him further. She knew that apart from Diana, no one could persuade them.
In the next twenty minutes, Lon and Caspian kept drinking.
At this moment, Caspian felt the world spinning, seeing double images, and if not for his strong self-control keeping him calm, he would have shown signs of drunkenness in front of everyone.
"Something's not right." Eddy stared at the clear and cold Caspian, rubbing his chin. "Last time he drank with me, he got drunk with much less than this, how is he still so sober this time?"
Chloe also found this strange.
Eddy caught the key point. "Could he have been pretending last time?"
"Impossible." Chloe knew he was truly drunk last time.
"Why?" Eddy's words were not whispered, and many people around heard some of it. "Maybe he was pretending to be drunk to go back and act crazy in front of Diana."
Chloe saw Lon's slightly darkened eyes and kicked Eddy under the table.
Eddy frowned at her. "Why did you kick me?"
