Chapter 48 Don't you owe us an explanation?

Lucia: “Dreaming.”

Hardy: “Impossible.”

Evan: “You might as well go back to sleep.”

No one in the group believed it. In their eyes, there was nothing in the world that could make Daphne resort to hacking techniques. Even if there was, she would immediately report it to the police without hesitation.

Seeing that they didn't believe him, Kevin sent another message, vividly describing what he had just seen. Meanwhile, on Daphne's side, ever since she started searching for information, one box after another appeared on the computer screen, filled with lines of code.

The high-performance computer was running at high speed, emitting a buzzing sound from its fan. Mark was completely stunned. He stared at the screen, unable to understand the content in the boxes, his admiration for Daphne flowing like a river.

He had guessed right!!! Mrs. Lancelot was indeed a super hacker. "Boss..." Mark whispered in a barely audible voice, wanting to share his excitement with someone. "I told you Mrs. Lancelot is a hacker, but you didn't believe me."

Charles, with his dark eyes, remained silent. His shock was no less than Mark's. The more he looked, the deeper and more profound Daphne's gaze became. They had been married for two years, sharing a bed for a year and a half, yet he had never discovered her hacker abilities?

"No wonder when he asked that hacker to help him investigate, the person replied to him saying, 'Checked, but nothing found.' It turns out Daphne had already covered up her own information. What exactly is this person's purpose in coming to his side?" Mark spoke up again when he saw that Charles remained silent.

Charles had already made up his mind. "Have someone investigate who Daphne has been in contact with and what they talked about over the past two years," he said.

Confused, Mark asked, "What do you mean?"

"Do you suspect Mrs. Lancelot?" Charles didn't say a word, but his expression and attitude spoke volumes.

Daphne didn't pay attention to these words for now. As time passed, she mobilized other hackers' computers to assist in the search.

Half an hour later, a progress bar appeared on the computer screen.

One percent completed… Two percent… The data slowly increased bit by bit. Daphne's hand left the keyboard, and her laptop was burning hot from the high-speed operation.

Mark admiration didn’t falter the slightest. Every man has a superhero in his heart, but for Mark, his admiration for hackers far surpassed his admiration for superheroes. Since he was young, he had always thought that those who possessed hacking skills were incredibly cool!

"CEO... I mean..." Mark quickly realized that his words were not quite appropriate and changed his address, "Miss Murphy, is it finished?"

"Yes," Daphne replied while still looking at the screen. "When the progress bar reaches one hundred percent, all the information will be retrieved."

Excitement emanated from behind Mark's glasses. Charles felt a chill run down his spine.

Just as he was about to question Daphne, Mark pulled out a pen and a palm-sized notepad from his suit pocket and handed them to Daphne. She questioned with a puzzled look, and Charles also stared at him, not quite understanding his intentions.

"Miss Murphy, could you please sign here for me?" Mark was aware of the cold glare coming from his boss, but in front of his idol, he couldn't back down. "I'm your fan."

Charles growled, "Mark!"

If this were any other day, Mark would have immediately withdrawn his hands and obediently stood by, waiting for his boss's instructions. But today, in front of his idol, who was also so attractive and cool, he had to show his steadfast determination.

"May I?" he asked Daphne.

Daphne hesitated for a moment, not fully grasping the situation. She had encountered similar situations before, but Kevin and others had always joked around, not being this formal. She didn't know whether she should accept Mark's request.

Taking a small step forward, Mark smiled and offered his hands. Without giving it much thought, Daphne agreed, "Alright."

After speaking, he took his pen and notepad, signing his own name with ease and neatness. The signature was completely different from the one on the divorce agreement. The strokes of the divorce agreement were elegant and precise, written in a proper regular script. But this time, the signature had a stylish and carefree personality that made it look really cool!!!

Charles noticed it. This made him even more suspicious of Daphne's intentions for approaching him. She deliberately changed even the way she signed her name, making it hard for him not to doubt her.

"Don't you think you owe me an explanation?" he questioned, his tone filled with accusation, exuding a cold and stern aura.

Daphne glanced at the progress bar, which was only at thirty percent, before answering, "Explanation about what?"

"Your hacking skills and your signature," Charles's gaze became deep and his words cold, devoid of any emotion. "You deliberately changed even your handwriting. Don't you find that strange?"

"There's nothing to explain," Daphne remained calm and composed. "Do you dare claim that you have shown me everything you are capable of? Are all your handwritten words identical?" Charles stared at her. This person was really good at arguing.

"Who sent you?" he asked.

"Did you approach me, marry me, with the intention of stealing the Lancelot Group's trade secrets?" Charles continued staring at her, his eyes and eyebrows exuding depth.

Mark stood up, feeling the need to say something for his idol, "Boss, it was you who went to Miss Murphy's doorstep to talk about marriage, not the other way around."

"Did you hear that?" Daphne retorted.

Charles looked at Mark displeased, his aura turning cold, "If you dare say another word, I will have you settle your wages and leave the company on Monday."

Mark asserted with seriousness, "I was just speaking the truth."

Charles's gaze was sharp. If it weren't for the fact that Mark had been with him for a long time, he would have definitely fired him!

"If you have doubts, you can investigate freely," Daphne stood confidently, unafraid of any shadow.

Since marrying Charles, she had never been to his Lancelot Group, nor had she secretly accessed his computer in his study. At most, she had seen him encounter difficulties and merely offered him some analysis after he told her about it.

"With your hacking skills, can I trust what I find?" Charles's expression became grave, his words laced with sarcasm.

Daphne no longer bothered to respond. No matter how much she said, it couldn't outweigh his imagination.

Mark couldn't bear seeing his idol being treated unfairly, "If Miss Murphy really wanted to steal trade secrets, why would she involve herself? With her skills, wouldn't it be easier for her to act independently without marrying you?"

"Mark!" Charles wanted to kick him out.

"I was just kindly reminding you. You can make rational decisions in other matters. Why do you act so impulsively with Miss Murphy? I don't understand," Mark expressed his confusion.
