Chapter 733 Are You Sure?

But even so, Caspian still wanted to take it seriously.

He didn't greet Charles and spoke sincerely and straightforwardly to Benjamin, "Charles was joking. Ivrea City is the root of the Lancelot Group, and the headquarters cannot be moved elsewhere. But I will strive to balance my work and my relationship with Diana. Please rest assured."

"Let's go upstairs and talk in detail." Benjamin was already satisfied. He liked Caspian's sincerity.

Even though Charles was giving him signals, he still answered so earnestly.

No wonder Diana liked him so much.

"Dad." Diana became cautious and asked tentatively, "Can I go with you?"

"No need."

"If you get thirsty while talking, I can help pour tea."

"I have hands."

Worried that Caspian might be bullied upstairs, she had to bite the bullet and continue, "Then let Mom go with you. Caspian is here to meet my parents, not just you."

"They can talk." Daphne had no intention of going up. They had agreed last night that Benjamin would talk to Caspian today, and she wouldn't participate.

Diana started to act spoiled. "Mom."

"Be good." Diana rubbed her head.

In the end, Diana compromised.

Benjamin took Caspian to the study upstairs. Once in that private space, Caspian was noticeably more nervous than before.

Benjamin poured him a cup of tea, giving off a casual and relaxed vibe. "Sit."

"Thank you, Mr. Reynolds." Caspian nodded slightly.

They sat facing each other on single sofas by the floor-to-ceiling window.

"Don't be nervous." This time Benjamin spoke directly, without any probing, "We have no objections to you and Diana, but there is something I need to confirm with you."

"Go ahead." Caspian felt a slight relief.

Benjamin's gaze fell on him, his tone still amiable, "I heard you previously sought treatment for excessive control and possessiveness?"

"Yes." Caspian didn't hide it.

"Is it convenient to talk about it?" Benjamin asked first.

If it wasn't convenient, he wouldn't force it, as it involved personal psychological issues.

But as Diana's father, he felt it was his duty to inquire about this for Diana's future.

Caspian's hands unconsciously tightened, maintaining a calm demeanor. "It's okay."

"At its worst, to what extent did it go?" Benjamin, understanding human emotions well, saw through his calm exterior to his nervousness. "I just need a brief explanation, no need to be tense."

Caspian's thin lips pressed into a straight line, and those terrible thoughts from the past gradually surfaced.

He tried to speak, but the words got stuck in his throat.

He couldn't help but wonder, once Diana's father knew about his crazy thoughts, would he still agree to them being together?

"If it's too difficult, you don't have to say." Benjamin saw his inner struggle and didn't press further.

"I wanted to keep her by my side," Caspian said this with his head down, not daring to look at Benjamin, his voice slightly hoarse, "I wanted to lock her up, to make her world revolve only around me."

He hadn't told Diana any of this.

For a while, he even searched online for ways to keep Diana by his side without arousing suspicion.

During that time, he even hated himself.

Benjamin's expression didn't change at all.

When he learned that Caspian sought treatment for excessive control and possessiveness, he knew there would be such thoughts. After all, ordinary control and possessiveness wouldn't require seeing a doctor.

"Why didn't you act on it?" Benjamin asked, which was the main reason for his question.

"I don't know." Caspian himself wasn't sure, he just answered based on his thoughts, "Maybe I didn't want to see her scared and crying, or maybe she was too wonderful that I can't bear to treat her that way."

He didn't have a specific answer. He only knew that every time he wanted to act on these extreme behaviors, a strong sense of guilt would arise.

These fluctuating emotions led to his increasing instability, eventually prompting him to see a doctor.

"And now?" Benjamin continued to ask.

"Now I still have some of those feelings, but I can control them." Caspian knew what it meant to say this, but he still said it. "More than anything, I want her to be happy and joyful."

Benjamin looked at him. "What does she mean to you?"

"Everything, she means the world to me." Caspian answered without any hesitation.

"We have no objections to your relationship with Diana." Benjamin told him the truth and added a reminder, "Just one request."

"Go ahead." Caspian was still nervous.

"Love her," Benjamin said, adding, "She has been spoiled by us and can be quite willful at times. I hope you can be more tolerant of her."

"She is wonderful." Caspian only said this.

Benjamin smiled, stood up, and patted his shoulder. "Be confident, you are wonderful too."

His words made Caspian's whole body tremble, a surge of strength rose in his heart..

"Let's go down." From the moment Caspian arrived, Benjamin could see that in their relationship, Caspian lacked confidence. "If we don't go down soon, Diana will think I'm giving you a hard time."

"Mr. Reynolds," Caspian suddenly called out to him.

Benjamin paused, still looking handsome. "What's up?"

"I will treat Diana well and won't let her get hurt," Caspian promised. "Please rest assured."

"I will." From the previous conversation, Benjamin had a general understanding of Caspian and said, "If your emotions get out of control again, just be honest with her. Get the help you need."

"Okay," Caspian responded.

After the conversation, they left the study.

When Diana saw them coming downstairs, she immediately rushed over, her eyes darting between her dad and Caspian, asking, "What did you talk about? Why did it take so long?"

Caspian's expression didn't reveal anything, she was so anxious.

"I offered him money to leave you," Benjamin joked as he walked down. "We haggled for a while."

Diana gave him a look. "How childish."

"You don't believe me?" Benjamin raised an eyebrow.

"If you offer him money to leave me, I'll offer Mom money to leave you." Diana was lively and cute. "After all, compared to you, I can make her happier."

Benjamin's pleasant voice echoed, "Are you sure?"
