Chapter 694 If You Want It, Just Say It, Why Be So Hypocritical
"Do we have some kind of misunderstanding?" Diana asked, encountering such a harsh Caspian for the first time.
"No misunderstanding," Caspian replied, his face emotionless, though he felt a surge of emotions inside. "Move aside."
"Then why do you talk to me like this?" Diana, who was usually very patient, especially with Caspian, said, "Was there something wrong with the message I sent you, or is there another reason you're upset with me? We can sit down and talk it out."
Caspian clearly didn't want to talk.
Diana looked into his eyes and continued, "I came here this time to pursue you."
Caspian's gaze returned to her, but his expression showed disbelief.
"Joining the Lancelot Group as your personal assistant was also to spend more time with you," Diana explained everything clearly. "I don't understand why you suddenly cut off contact, or why you reacted so strongly when I confessed my feelings to you."
Just last night, he had been so kind to her. How could he change so suddenly?
"Because I don't like you," Caspian said. "I don't want any involvement with you."
"Oh," Diana replied nonchalantly, exposing his lie. "If you don't like me, why is my photo your phone wallpaper?"
Caspian's hands clenched slightly at his sides, and he coldly said, "I set it randomly."
"Is that so?" Diana wasn't angry at all and continued to expose him. "And the wooden doll and my photo at your place were placed randomly too?"
"Yes," Caspian admitted straightforwardly.
He didn't suspect anything from last night, assuming Charles had seen it by chance and told her, despite promising to keep it a secret.
"Do you want me to help you replace them?" Diana casually chatted with Caspian, seeing right through him. "I have better photos now."
Diana unlocked her phone. "Do you want me to send them to your phone?"
"No need," Caspian refused after a moment of silence.
"If you want them, just say so. Why be so contradictory?" Diana sent the photos Louis had taken of her recently. "I've sent them. Check your phone."
Caspian felt a mix of complex emotions.
He didn't understand why Diana could still talk to him after he said such hurtful things.
If it were him, he would have left long ago.
"Remember to change your phone wallpaper to the photo I just sent you," Diana said.
"What do you really want?" Caspian forced himself to stay calm.
Diana put away her phone and looked at his open Facebook page. "I just wanted to see if you read the messages I sent you or if they were left unread."
"Now I see." Diana smiled, her expression healing and pure. "Not only did you read them, but you also pinned me."
"Since your note is nice, I won't bother you today." Diana stepped aside, her blinking eyes very cute. "As for you saying you don't like me, it's fine if you don't. I like you, and that's enough."
With that, Diana turned and walked towards the car she had arrived in.
Caspian stood there, unable to recover for a long time.
He had always hidden his feelings well, but he never expected Diana to send him photos just to check his Facebook.
As the car passed Caspian, Diana, sitting in the passenger seat, waved at him. "Bye-bye."
Caspian looked over.
The car Diana was in had already left.
Charles, sitting in the driver's seat, noticed Diana's smiling lips in the rearview mirror. "You failed to confess and you're still this happy?"
"It's not exactly a failed confession," Diana replied, briefly thinking about what had happened. "It's just that the boy I like isn't ready to be my boyfriend yet."
"He treated you like that, and you're not angry?" Charles, who had been nearby, had heard Caspian's words and had wanted to pull Diana away.
"Being angry is punishing yourself for someone else's mistakes," Diana had always believed this. "Knowing he likes me, his behavior only makes me curious about his reasons."
There must be a misunderstanding between them.
But the last time they met, when Diana left Ivrea City, their relationship was fine, and they had been in contact since.
Then suddenly, one day, Caspian stopped responding, as if he had disappeared. It was very strange.
"Do you know why his attitude towards me changed?" Diana asked.
"If you don't know, how would I?" Charles replied based on his memory. "I only know that during high school, he visited you once, and after that, he was like this."
Only the two of them knew what had happened, and Charles hadn't asked much.
Diana suddenly became alert. "He visited me?"
"Yes."
"Wasn't it always me visiting him in Ivrea City?"
"Before, you visited him in Ivrea City, but that summer, after you went back, he visited you once," Charles recalled. "I heard it from Mark."
At that time, Caspian was juggling college and learning to manage the company.
Charles had some business with Caspian and asked Mark if he was busy, only to be told that Caspian had taken leave to visit Diana in Gedser.
Charles hadn't paid much attention, as he usually didn't meddle in the kids' affairs.
In hindsight, he should have asked.
Diana grasped the key issue and, after arriving home, asked Charles for Mark's contact information and called him immediately.
But the incident had happened years ago, and for Mark, it was a trivial matter, making the hard-won clue useless.
If Benjamin and Daphne were the type to force Diana into an arranged marriage, she might suspect they had persuaded Caspian to back off.
But Benjamin and Daphne didn't care about such things and gave Diana plenty of freedom in her relationships.
For now, there was no progress.
Asking Caspian directly would likely result in more sarcasm given his current attitude.
After much thought, Diana decided to ask in the group chat: [Did anyone see Caspian in Gedser during my high school years?]
Louis: [?]
Eddy and others asked directly: [What does he look like?]
Diana picked a photo of Caspian from that time and posted it in the group, hoping someone could provide a clue.
