Chapter 740 Leaving

"If you mean what happened this afternoon, I won't be mad." Diana didn't keep Caspian in suspense and told him the result right away. "But don't do it again in the future."

"Okay," Caspian agreed. However, some complicated thoughts arose in his mind.

He couldn't help but wonder if Diana was actually a little upset but was indulging him because she liked him.

"If you want to know something, just ask me directly." Diana saw through his thoughts at a glance, her words filled with care and concern. "I'll be with you for a lifetime, there's no need to show off our love to Lon and the others in such a silly way."

"Sorry," Caspian quickly admitted his mistake, his head lowered.

"Why apologize?" Diana ruffled his hair, still smiling warmly. "I just think it's not worth it for you to get drunk over this."

Caspian instinctively looked up at her. It seemed he didn't expect that this was what she cared about.

"In a while, we'll get engaged, and then we'll get married." Diana genuinely wanted to be with him, envisioning their future in her mind. "You need to take good care of your health, prepare for pregnancy, and avoid staying up late and drinking excessively."

Caspian hesitated, worried she might regret it later. "Isn't it too soon?"

"No." Diana was very clear about her life plans.

She had already decided on Caspian, and getting married soon was a happy thing.

Caspian didn't say anything more and continued eating.

In the following days, Caspian went to see Daphne and Benjamin to discuss the engagement. He initially planned to have a grand engagement party, but Diana requested to keep it simple.

She didn't care about the engagement; what she cared about was the wedding with Caspian.

Daphne and Benjamin had always doted on her, and when it came to major life decisions, they usually let her decide for herself, only offering suggestions or guidance.

In the blink of an eye, it was the day Lon was leaving.

Caspian thought about his selfishness over the past few days and Diana's indulgence towards him. When Diana asked him to go with her, he refused, "I'm not going. You go ahead."

"Lon asked me to bring you along," Diana added.

"I think there are some things he can't say to you if I'm there, and you won't be able to say a proper goodbye." Caspian switched roles in his mind and realized that Lon genuinely cared for Diana. "You go have lunch with him and give him a proper send-off."

Diana was slightly curious. "You won't be mad at it?"

"I won't," Caspian answered seriously.

"Then wait for me here. I'll come back to you after seeing Lon off." Diana hugged him, showing her full concern. "Then I'll take you to explore Gedser. You haven't been here much over the years."

"Okay," Caspian agreed to everything.

Diana kissed him before leaving for Lon's house.

To her, Lon was really like a brother. The older she got, the more she saw him as a family member.

Lon was a bit surprised to see her alone. He looked around but didn't see Caspian and asked, "Where's Caspian?"

"He didn't come," Diana replied truthfully.

Lon was puzzled.

Lon was puzzled. He made a guess with a teasing tone, "Did you come secretly?"

Given Caspian's temperament, he probably wouldn't want her to come. After all, he was just childish.

"He asked me to come and have lunch with you." Diana took his luggage, feeling a bit reluctant. "Are you really not coming back for the next two years?"

"Pretty much." Lon nodded.

Diana forced a smile. "Then you should develop well over there. If I ever can't make it here, I'll come to rely on you."

"Okay." Lon raised his hand, wanting to ruffle her hair like before, but suddenly remembered their relationship, his hand paused in mid-air for a moment.

Diana noticed. Their eyes met.

Lon withdrew his hand with a smile, still as gentle as ever. "Let's go and have lunch."

"Okay." Diana helped him put his suitcase in the car. Lon wanted to carry it himself but couldn't win against Diana.

On the way to lunch, the two of them sat together in the back seat.

Looking at Lon in his suit, Diana's heart was filled with many emotions.

She actually wanted to ask him if he would come back for her wedding, but on second thought, Lon liked her. Inviting him to her wedding would be like stabbing him in the heart.

But.

But she really wanted him to attend her wedding. He and Louis were equally important to her.

"Diana," Lon suddenly called her with the same indulgence and gentleness as before.

Diana turned her head, exuding a comforting warmth. "What is it?"

"Let me know in advance when you get married." Lon had truly convinced himself to let go this time. He wanted to witness the girl he liked finding happiness. "So I can arrange my schedule to come back."

"Aren't you..." Diana felt a surge of emotion.

"No matter how busy I am, I still have to attend your wedding." Lon's smile was really beautiful, warm, and comforting.

Diana nodded. "Okay."

Lon called her a silly girl and then changed the subject.

At lunch, Diana ordered all of Lon's favorite dishes.

"You don have to do this. There are chefs from here over there," Lon said with a smile. "Apart from the environment, everything else is pretty much the same."

He was going there for work, with a very regular and stable routine of going to work and coming home.

Diana scratched her head. "I forgot."

Lon's lips curved into a smile, his deep eyes filled with laughter.

Seeing him so radiant, Diana felt proud of him.

If she and Lon had not known each other since childhood and had only met and gotten along well as adults, she might have fallen for him.

He had a great personality, stable emotions, and treated people gently, almost a perfect partner.

But life was unexpectable. Once she categorized Lon as family in her heart, it was destined that she would never develop other feelings for him.

"What are you thinking?" Lon's voice interrupted her thoughts.

"I was thinking that you're such a good person, you must be blessed by heaven," Diana's tone was light, her eyes forming a beautiful crescent as she spoke. "May you have a smooth and peaceful life."

"Thank you for your kind words." Lon remained gentle.

Diana's tone was lively and cute. "You definitely will."

Lon smiled and continued eating with her.

Yet inwardly he sighed. If heaven really blessed him, he wouldn't have lost the girl he loved.
