Chapter 466 You Are So Guilty

She knew the friend zone game all too well, so she buried those off-limits feelings deep down.

"Wait, for real?" Chris was totally floored.

"Yep."

"You actually had a thing for me?"

"Right."

"We both had a crush on each other?"

"Exactly."

Chris was over the moon, like he was living in some kind of dream. He couldn't even find the words.

"You're not messing with me, right?" Chris bit his lip, his eyes all complicated and stuff. "You always said you were into Mr. Fisher, like, big time."

"I was only acting like I meant it." Sierra felt like a total idiot for her past antics.

Sometimes she really admired Daphne's vibe; if she liked someone, she just went for it, no games.

If Daphne had been in her shoes, she would've just laid it all out there. If it worked, great; if not, she'd move on.

That night, Chris wouldn't stop bugging Sierra with questions.

When he finally got it through his head that Sierra had been into him for ages, he was so stoked he picked her up and spun her around like a kid with a new toy.

"Weren't we breaking up?"

"Nope!"

"Weren't you not gonna propose?"

"I totally will!"

Sierra just rolled her eyes and ignored him.

Chris was on cloud nine, acting all clingy, hugging Sierra. "You're so mean, knowing that saying those things would bum me out, but you said them anyway."

If it weren't for his ego, he might've cried out of frustration.

"Get off me!" Sierra pushed his face away, looking grossed out.

"Why'd you mess with my feelings like that?"

"Chris!"

"Spill it."

"If you don't talk straight, I'm chucking you out the window."

"I'm just trying to get closer to you," Chris said, leaning in all curious. "You still haven't told me why you said those things to hurt me."

"Just paying you back for all the times you hurt me," Sierra shot back.

Having a crush and keeping it a secret was seriously draining. She watched Chris flirt with other girls, saw him hit the clubs, and he even praised other girls in front of her, saying he wanted to marry them.

Back then, she didn't know it was all an act; she just knew it hurt like hell every time.

The worst was when Chris asked her to set him up with her friends.

"Speaking of which, I just remembered something," Sierra decided to bring up an old grudge. "You used to bug me about meeting my friends, wanting to date them, and asked me to introduce you. Still into them? If you are, I can hook you up." Sierra's tone was super casual, no anger at all.

"I never liked them, so how could I still like them?" Chris quickly cleared up, feeling like it was a huge misunderstanding. "I liked you back then but didn't have the guts to say it, so I just found excuses to talk to you; as long as I could chat with you, I was happy."

Chris pleaded, "Sierra, I messed up."

"Let go."

"Don't bring up my old screw-ups."

"Get lost."

"Sierra,"

"If you don't get lost, don't blame me for getting rough."

"Alright, alright!" Chris immediately turned into a good boy. "I'll be next door; holler if you need anything."

With that, he dashed off to brag to Benjamin.

He couldn't wait to tell Benjamin that he and Sierra had been crushing on each other since their school days.

Chris shot off a message to Benjamin.

Meanwhile, Benjamin had just gotten home and was having dinner with Daphne. When he saw Chris's message, he just replied: [If I were you, I'd be too embarrassed to admit it.]

Chris shot back: [I know you're just jealous.]

Benjamin replied: [Jealous of what? A guy who couldn't even confess?]

Chris said: [Sierra and I have been into each other since we were kids. Bet you're jealous of that.]

Benjamin looked at the message, rubbed his phone, and didn't bother replying. He put his phone down and kept eating.

After dinner, he and Daphne headed upstairs.

Seeing him pull out an old photo, Daphne asked, puzzled, "What are you doing with that?"

"Taking a pic to send to Chris."

"Huh?"

"He just bragged that Sierra liked him since they were kids," Benjamin said, snapping a pic of the photo and sending it to Chris. "I need to remind him that you liked me since you were two, always holding my hand."

Benjamin sent the message to Chris.

Chris replied: [You just picked a random kid and said it's Daphne; you think I'll buy that?]

Benjamin sent another photo from Daphne's album.

After confirming that the little girl in the photo with Benjamin was indeed Daphne, Chris couldn't keep his cool. Did she really like him since she was two?

[So what if she liked you since she was two? You only fell in love now.] Chris shot back, still thinking he and Sierra were the most romantic. [Anyway, Sierra and I are the sweetest and most romantic couple, no arguments.]

Benjamin replied calmly: [Only you would think it's romantic to have a crush for over ten years before finding out the other person liked you too.]

Benjamin added: [Ask Sierra if she thinks it's romantic or just plain dumb.]

Chris's gut told him Sierra would definitely think it was dumb.

After replying, Benjamin put the album back.

Daphne watched him and took out her phone to check on Emma and Zoey's progress. She wondered if they had managed to deal with Benjamin.

Both of them replied that they had.

When Benjamin finished putting the album away and saw her on her phone, he asked casually, "What are you up to?"

"Nothing."

Daphne quickly turned off her phone and hid it behind her back.

Her obviously guilty behavior caught Benjamin's attention. He glanced at her arm behind her back and asked nonchalantly, "You're acting all guilty and you say it's nothing?"

"Just chatting with Emma and Zoey."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"Let me see?" Benjamin felt something was off.

If it were just a simple chat, Daphne wouldn't be acting this way. His gut told him the chat had something to do with him.
