Chapter 46 You Believe Everything Everyone Says, Except...

They were just lying according to the script. How could Mr. Lancelot still believe them?

"Mr. Lancelot, actually..." someone felt a little guilty and wanted to explain that Daphne was truly fast.

Charles looked at him coldly.

The man in the white T-shirt quickly added, "Miss Murphy did outrun us, but that's because before we began, Miss Murphy told us to run slower and not catch up with her."

"That's right."

"That's exactly it."

Others chimed in agreement.

The man in the white T-shirt glanced at the person who almost let the secret slip, his expression showing some displeasure, and.

Daphne saw this sceneall that.

"Get lost already," Charles couldn't suppress the anger in his heart upon hearing this.

The group of people dispersed in an instant.

Daphne didn't even have a chance to keep someone behind and ask questions.

As soon as those people left, Mark immediately started the car, made a U-turn, and parked on the side. He got out of the car before he could say anything.
Just then, Mrs. Lancelot forcefully shook off her boss's grip on her hand, and an anger that was usually absent from her indifferent face appeared.

"Boss, Mrs. Lancelot," she started, "let's talk about it later."

"Call me Daphne," Daphne corrected his address.

Charles emanated a chilly aura.
Mark swallowed and changed his address, "Miss Murphy, who were those people just now? How did you provoke them?"

Their expressions turned sour as soon as he mentioned it.
Daphne turned and walked away, showing no intention of accompanying Charles.

"Stop!" Charles shouted angrily.
Daphne ignored him.

Charles grabbed her hand from behind and forcibly pushed her into the car, coldly ordering Mark, "Drive!"

Mark focused on driving without a care in the world.
Daphne initially wanted to scold him, but upon reflection, there was no point in getting angry with a dog. He took her away, probably wanting to ask her why she did what she did, why she framed Kayla.
It doesn't didn’t matter anyway.

The car proceeded.
After over an hour, they arrived at Queens Villa Block.
Mark nervously opened the door. He couldn't understand why their boss was still angry at Mrs. Lancelot when she had been mistreated.

Charles dragged Daphne over.
With great willpower holding her back, Daphne managed to resist the urge to throw Charles over her shoulder.
She couldn't fully reveal everything she possessed, including her abilities, as they were still married and she wanted to avoid any unexpected incidents.

"Bam!"
Charles slammed the door, causing a deafening noise.
He threw Daphne onto the sofa and looked down at her, saying, "Why did you do this, and how did you know about my schedule?"

"Who told you? Ask them," Daphne replied.

"Daphne!"

"No need to raise your voice, I'm not deaf."

"I've given you what you deserved, and you agreed to the divorce. Why did you still frame Kayla by hiring someone to attack you?" Charles questioned. "What do you want to achieve?"

Suddenly, Daphne wanted to know something. She stood up, her height of 1.7 meters making her significantly shorter than Charles.

She stared at him and said, "Is it that you believe everything everyone else says, except me?"

"What do you think?" Charles threw a sentence at her.

"I've said what needed to be said," Daphne got her answer, and her heart died completely. "Whether you believe it or not is your business."

"This is my final warning to you. Don't use these dirty tactics again," Charles grew angry at the thought of what happened previously. "If you dare to harm Kayla once more, I won't let you off."
Daphne didn't respond.

She treated his words as if they were whispers in the wind, listening and forgetting.
She watched as he showed no concern, feeling the anger building up inside her. How could someone be so confident even after making a mistake?

"For the next few days, you will stay here obediently," Charles made it clear that he was going to confine her. "You are not allowed to step out until we receive the divorce papers!"

After saying that, he called over twenty bodyguards, enclosing the entire villa.

Daphne couldn't be bothered to struggle. She was a highly adaptable person and, after scanning her surroundings, she asked, "Where will I sleep?"

Charles paused for a moment, holding his breath, choking on the anger building up inside him. He had said so much, and all she was thinking about was sleep!

"Do you really think that just because your my parents and grandfather pamper you, you can act recklessly?" he asked.

"Not really." Daphne had already calmed her emotions. "Marcus even recognized me as his granddaughter."

Charles remained silent.

"Remember to bring me a few sets of clothes to change into," Daphne instructed calmly. "Also, buy some sanitary pads for both day and night. I'll be starting my period soon."

Charles said nothing.

When he didn't respond, Daphne asked, "Did you hear me?"

"I am not your servant."

"Then will you let me go out and buy them?"

"Keep dreaming!"

The conversation ended without any resolution.

Reluctantly, Charles prepared the items, thinking about how much Marcus cared for her.

Daphne placed the things in the room she used to stay in, took a shower, and lay down on the bed with only a phone in her hand.

She had many ways to escape if she wanted to. She could jump from the second floor, call Charles' parents and grandfather, or tell Evan.

But she knew very well that doing so would result in endless arguments with Charles.

In the short period of about twenty days, she had already argued with him too many times. To be honest, she was exhausted from this kind of life.

In order to have some peace, she decided not to cause any more trouble.

In her contemplation, she thought about tonight's incident.

Her eyebrows furrowed slightly as she contemplated it. After careful consideration, she decided to call Kevin. There were some things that she needed to investigate.

As soon as the call connected, Kevin's puzzled voice came through, "Daphne?"

"Help me find out if Charles has any close friends of the opposite sex," Daphne stated her conjecture. "Or if anyone likes him."

The car accident involving Kayla, her assault, and the beating she suffered... Daphne couldn't believe that these three incidents were unrelated. Although they had already caught the suspect behind Kayla's car accident, her intuition told her that it wasn't so simple.

She even suspected that these three incidents were orchestrated by the same person.

And this person wanted to ruin her and Kayla's position in Charles' heart.

When Kayla had the car accident, the driver framed her on WhatsApp. If she hadn't handled it rationally, Charles might have already considered her guilty.

When Kayla was assaulted, the purpose was probably to make Charles think less of her and more of someone else.
KaAyla was dirty, but she underestimated Charles' fondness and concern for Kayla.

As for being beaten up tonight, those people were hired to frame her in front of Charles. The purpose was probably to make Charles disgusted with her. As long as she and Kayla were no longer by Charles' side, the position of the vacant Mrs. would belong to that personthem.
