Chapter 684 You Just Got Rejected, Is It Worth Crying Over?
The car continued to move forward.
Watching the vehicles coming and going ahead, Diana suddenly had an idea. She wanted to make it up to Lon. "Lon, is there anything you want?"
Lon really wanted to say, "Yes, I want you, I want you to be my girlfriend."
But Lon knew that the current atmosphere was not suitable for continuing this joke. If he said it, Diana would feel uncomfortable for several days.
"There is one thing." Lon thought of something casually.
Diana pressed on, "What is it?"
"My dad is currently choosing between me and Noe to be the heir of the Fisher Group," Lon said seriously. "I want to start my own business, not to inherit the family business."
"I'll help you!"
"Really?"
"Yes," Diana promised. "I'll help you get it done within a month."
"Okay," Lon agreed.
Half an hour later, Lon dropped Diana off at home.
When she got out of the car, Diana acted as usual, smiling and saying to him, "Drive slowly on your way back. Bye."
"Okay, bye."
The simple conversation highlighted their most complex inner feelings.
Diana stood there, thinking about watching him leave, but after two minutes, Lon still hadn't started the car. He just sat in the car, looking at Diana standing outside.
Just as Diana was about to ask something, Lon opened the car door and got out.
Diana asked with concern, "What's wrong..."
Before she could finish her sentence, she was enveloped in a warm, clean embrace.
Lon held her tightly, unable to hold back his long-suppressed emotions at this moment.
"Lon." Diana's hands didn't know where to go.
All of Lon's restraint and suppression were hidden in his deep gaze. He tightened his grip slightly, buried his head in her shoulder, and his hoarse voice sounded in her ear, "Let me hold you for a while."
Diana's hands, which were hanging by her sides, paused for a moment, but she eventually raised them to hug him back.
The moment her hands touched him, she clearly felt Lon's body stiffen for a moment, but then he relaxed.
Time passed bit by bit.
Two minutes later, Lon let go of her.
"Remember to protect yourself when you go to Ivrea City." Lon brushed away the hair on her forehead, all his affection and love undisguised at this moment. "I will always be your support and your safe haven."
"Okay." Diana didn't say much. She knew that at this moment, she just needed to agree with him.
Lon's gaze fell on her face. "When you come back next time, I'll be the same as before."
Diana nodded.
Lon withdrew his hand, glanced at the brightly lit house, suppressed his reluctance, and said to her, "Go inside."
Diana walked slowly, but eventually turned back to give him a hug.
Lon's whole body stiffened.
"Thank you for liking me." Diana gave him a light hug and then let go, her emotions already adjusted. "Drive slowly on your way back, be safe."
"Okay." Lon's eyes were filled with tenderness.
After this time, Diana really went back home.
After seeing her go inside, Lon returned to the car, still feeling the touch of Diana's hug on his waist.
He leaned back in the seat, looking at the transparent sunroof. Under the starry night sky, he seemed to have figured it all out.
The sound of a message notification rang, it was a message from Eddy.
Looking at Eddy's words, Lon's fingers moved slightly and he replied: [I told her.]
When Eddy saw the message, he immediately called, his words full of excitement and enthusiasm, "How did it go?"
"What do you think?" Lon asked back.
"Did she agree? No, if she had agreed, you wouldn't be in this mood," Eddy immediately realized. "How did she reject you? Did she say why she doesn't like you?"
Lon put the phone on speaker and tossed it aside, not intending to talk to Eddy at all.
But Eddy did play a role in giving Lon the courage to speak up. Without Eddy, he might have kept this secret for a lifetime.
"Why aren't you saying anything?" Eddy asked cautiously. "Are you crying?"
Lon rested with his eyes closed.
"No way," Eddy's tone was exaggerated, with no intention of comforting. "You just got rejected, is it worth crying over?"
Lon remained silent.
"Crying over such a small thing is so spineless," Eddy said seriously, his words aggressive. "If you really can't take it, I'll drag Diana over and let you beat her up to vent your anger."
"You can try that." Lon felt like punching him.
"You're not crying," Eddy judged from the sound. "I wasn't really going to drag her. With her skills, do you think I dare?"
Lon didn't want to talk to Eddy.
"If you're really that sad, I'll go drinking with you," Eddy suddenly said something loyal. "And I'll get you two girls to help you forget the sadness."
Lon didn't respond to Eddy and directly hung up the phone.
After sorting out his thoughts, Lon glanced at the villa where Louis and Diana lived, and finally started the car and left.
What Lon didn't know was that Diana had been quietly watching from the window since she entered the room. Seeing him drive away, she still felt that complex emotion.
"Did you know that Lon liked me for a long time?" Diana walked from the window to the sofa and asked Louis, who had arrived home before her.
Louis said, "Not just me, everyone except you knew."
Diana recalled their daily interactions.
Lon did spoil her a lot, always caring on holidays, never missing a gift.
But because of the lies Lon told her, she never thought in that direction.
"Do you really not like him at all?" Louis was curious about Diana's thoughts. Diana and Lon had played well together since childhood, yet she didn't like him.
"I already said, my feelings for him are the same as for you." Diana propped her head, feeling heavy-hearted. "He always claimed I was his sister. If I developed other feelings in this situation, you should wonder if I have other feelings for you too."
