Chapter 727 Afraid She Will Like Him Less

[To Gilbert, the best way to help Lon move on from his failed pursuit of you is to find him someone more suitable,] Louis explained to Diana, without any intention of hiding anything.

Thinking about Lon's personality, Diana felt a bit conflicted. She replied: [Lon doesn't like arranged marriages.]

None of their close friends had any intention of entering into arranged marriages.

They all wanted to be with someone they truly liked.

[Is there any way to help Lon?] Diana asked tentatively.

Lon had always treated her well and helped her with many things since they were young.

She hoped she could offer him some help when he was in trouble.

[No need, he already has a plan,] Louis replied, not hiding anything from her, and told her about Lon's plan. [This trip abroad is part of the deal he made with Gilbert.]

If he achieved the goals he set for himself abroad, he would have the freedom to decide his own marriage for the rest of his life.

After the call ended, Diana thought about how to tell Caspian about this.

His possessiveness and need for control had improved a lot, but if she mentioned sending Lon off, he would definitely get jealous.

What she didn't know was that Caspian was standing outside the door at that moment.

He thought Diana would come to him immediately after hanging up the phone to tell him what she and Lon had talked about.

But after waiting for ten minutes, she still hadn't come out.

He wasn't angry, just a bit upset.

Just then, Diana decided to go find Caspian.

Hearing footsteps approaching, Caspian moved to Alvin's office.

When he appeared, Alvin tensed up, thinking Caspian was there to confront him. "Mr. Garcia..."

Caspian didn't say anything. He walked over and sat down with a cold expression.

The more he acted like this, the more anxious Alvin became.

"I know I was wrong," Alvin said, not caring about anything else, and quickly admitted his mistake. "I promise I won't speak carelessly again, and I won't say anything unnecessary to Mrs. Garcia."

Caspian wasn't listening at all, his mind was full of thoughts about what Diana and Lon had talked about. If Lon confessed to her again, what would she do?

"Mr. Garcia! Please just tell me what you want to do!" Alvin, seeing Caspian still silent, became even more anxious and decided to ask directly.

Caspian finally looked at him. "What?"

"I'll accept any punishment you give me," Alvin said, feeling extremely nervous and not used to this situation. "Just don't stay silent."

He had no idea what Caspian was thinking when he was silent and expressionless.

Caspian's eyes were full of confusion. He had no idea what Alvin meant.

Before he could ask, Diana arrived at the office and greeted him as usual. "Caspian, are you done talking?"

Alvin instantly tensed up, thinking Caspian was really here for him.

"We're done," Caspian said, standing up. His long legs were perfectly hidden under his suit pants. As he left, he gave Alvin a puzzled look, clearly not understanding why Alvin had that expression.

That look made Alvin feel even more pressured. In his understanding, this look meant: "We'll talk later."

In Caspian's office.

Diana pulled Caspian to sit down, her eyes sparkling. "I have something to discuss with you."

"Go ahead," Caspian said, his palms a bit sweaty from nervousness.

"Lon just called me. He's going abroad and might not be back for the next two years," Diana said honestly, unsure of Caspian's reaction. "He asked if I wanted to take you back to see him off."

Caspian paused, clearly not expecting this to be the topic of their conversation.

Seeing he didn't answer, Diana asked again, "Should we go back?"

"Do you want to?" Caspian asked in return.

"Of course. Lon has taken care of me a lot since we were young. He's been part of all the important events in my life. It wouldn't be right not to see him off," Diana explained their relationship and then added, "But if it bothers you, I'll just pick a gift and have my brother send it."

There were many things in life that couldn't be balanced perfectly. Since she chose Caspian and promised to always be good to him, she wouldn't go back on her word.

Caspian remained silent, and Diana patiently waited for him.

After a while, Caspian squeezed her slender fingers and asked with some complexity, "If you go back, will you still love me?"

Diana looked puzzled. "What kind of question is that?"

"Just answer it," Caspian said, showing his immaturity in matters of love.

"Of course I will," Diana said without hesitation, teasing him a bit. "The air in Gedser doesn't have the power to take away my feelings, so why wouldn't I?"

"When is he leaving?" Caspian asked.

Though he didn't say it explicitly, Diana knew he was asking about Lon, so she answered directly, "Next Wednesday."

"Pack your bags when we get back. We'll go to Gedser tomorrow," Caspian said in his deep, pleasant voice. Wearing a white shirt, he looked both abstinent and cool.

Diana was slightly surprised. This was unlike Caspian.

"You're okay with me going back to see Lon off?"

"I'm not okay with it, but he's taken care of you more than I have since you were young. You should see him off," Caspian said, a bit jealous, revealing his true intention. "But I have one condition."

Diana was straightforward. "Go ahead."

"Let me discuss our marriage with your family the day after tomorrow," Caspian said, his deep gaze locking onto her. "I want their approval."

"Okay!" Diana agreed happily.

Even if he wanted to have their wedding immediately, she would agree.

Caspian hugged her, resting his chin on her shoulder, feeling a bit down.

"What's wrong?" Diana patted his back, guessing his state from their previous conversation. "Worried my parents won't like you?"

"No," Caspian said, holding her tighter, his eyes showing some emotion. "I'm worried that after seeing Lon, you won't want me anymore."

Lon was very outstanding.

He had a good family background, was capable, mature, and steady, very different from Caspian.

Whether it was Diana's excessive indulgence or his true nature being revealed, he was becoming more and more dependent on her, always wanting to be with her when no one else was around.

He was really afraid she would stop liking him.

"Really?" Diana couldn't help but tease him a bit.
