Chapter 650 The Pre-written Script

"I don't need to grow up, I understand now," Molly said earnestly.

In the following days, Daisy noticed that Austin was never home.

Every time she looked for him, he either said he had work or that a friend needed him.

Daisy initially wanted to talk to him, but every time she tried, Austin brushed her off. After two or three attempts, Daisy gave up.

She even decided not to go to the movies next week.

It was Wednesday night.

Austin sneaked back home.

Seeing Daisy sitting on the couch watching a documentary, he cautiously walked over, a bit apprehensive.

"Why are you still up so late?" Austin pursed his lips and sat down next to her.

When Daisy felt him touch her, she moved away.

This subtle action puzzled Austin.

Austin glanced at her expressionless face and tentatively asked, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing," Daisy said, turning off the TV with the remote. She stood up, adjusted her clothes, and headed upstairs. "Remember to turn off the living room lights when you go to bed."

"Daisy," Austin called out, trying to understand what was going on.

Daisy avoided him and went back to her room, distant and cold.

Perplexed, Austin went to find Molly.

Molly stopped her homework, tilted her head, and looked at him. "Dad, do you really not know, or are you pretending not to know?"

"What?" Austin looked confused.

"Haven't you noticed that Mom is angry because you haven't been home and she can't reach you?" Molly observed keenly and spoke seriously.

Austin thought for a moment. "Really?"

Every time Daisy called or asked him in person what he was busy with, she seemed natural. He made excuses, and she just asked briefly.

Austin didn't feel that Daisy was angry at all. It didn't make sense.

"Yes," Molly nodded. "Mom is very angry. Your plan is probably going to fail."

Austin couldn't care less about the plan and immediately went to find Daisy.

Seeing Daisy holding clothes, about to take a shower, Austin stopped her. "Are you angry?"

Daisy paused and said, "No."

"Molly said you were angry," Austin said directly.

Daisy really wanted to pry open Austin's head to see what was inside. Who would directly say they were angry? Wasn't she obvious enough?

"Is it because I haven't been home these days, and I didn't clearly tell you what I was busy with every time you asked?" Austin tentatively asked.

Daisy's grip on her clothes tightened slightly, and she distantly said, "You have your freedom. I can't control you."

That one sentence confirmed to Austin that she was angry.

"I was wrong," Austin quickly admitted. "But I promise I haven't done anything to fail you. I'll tell you everything once I'm done, okay?"

Daisy looked up at him, wanting to say, "Who knows?"

But seeing Austin's sincere and emotional eyes, she ultimately believed him. "Okay."

"I knew you loved me the most!" Austin immediately hugged her, took the clothes from her hands, and grinned. "Are you going to shower? Let me help you."

"No need," Daisy said.

"Just let me help you once," Austin insisted.

"Get out," Daisy said, snatching the clothes from his hands. "Don't make me hit you."

"Then I'll wait outside. Let me know when you're done," Austin obediently said.

Daisy didn't respond.

Austin obediently left.

For the next half hour, Daisy stayed in the shower.

Thinking about Austin's unusual behavior and his recent words, Daisy had a vague suspicion, but she wasn't sure if it was accurate.

That night, Austin was particularly well-behaved.

The next day, he left early to meet Daphne.

Daphne had a relatively indifferent attitude towards Austin now. Since Daisy chose to forgive the past, as her friend, she could only support her decision.

But if Austin dared to do anything to hurt Daisy again, Daphne would help Daisy kick him out immediately.

Austin cleared his throat.

Daphne looked puzzled. "Just say it."

"I need a favor," Austin rubbed his hands, clearly a bit afraid of Daphne. "If it's convenient for you."

"Go ahead," Daphne wouldn't agree rashly.

"I want to propose to Daisy. I've set up everything," Austin said, a bit nervous, knowing his impression with Daphne wasn't great. "I just need to get Daisy there."

"You want me to trick Daisy into going?" Daphne instantly understood, being experienced.

Austin nodded. "Yes!"

Daphne stared at him for a while.

Austin felt a bit scared under her gaze but mustered the courage to ask, "Will you do it?"

"Do you really want to marry Daisy?"

"Yes."

"Will you treat her well for the rest of your life?"

"I've shown my sincerity. How could it be fake?"

"Daisy didn't accept it," Daphne said bluntly. Although she saw Austin's change, she still feared Daisy might get hurt again. "Let me think about it."

Austin had previously asked Daphne to transfer some assets to Daisy, but Daisy refused them all.

In the end, those assets were transferred to Molly.

"I promise to treat Daisy well for the rest of my life. If I ever wrong her, I'll be unlucky forever," Austin swore.

Seeing Austin's sincerity and patience, Daphne didn't waste much time. "How do you want me to help?"

"Here's the script I wrote," Austin took a folded paper from his pocket and handed it over, smiling. "Just follow it."

Daphne glanced at it, her brows slightly furrowing. This script...

Austin waited for her response. "How about it?"

"Okay," Daphne agreed.

"Thank you!" Austin finally felt relieved. "I'll go buy the movie tickets now."

Daphne nodded.

Seeing his plan succeed, Austin walked with a spring in his step.

Thinking about proposing to Daisy soon, Austin felt very happy.
