Chapter 669 If You Don't Let Go, You'll Never Be Able to Restart

"You can call the new boy you met after school and visit him in Ivrea City during the holidays," Daphne suggested, not really interfering with her making friends. "But you have to come back for school."

"I'm fine," Charles suddenly spoke up. "Diana won't affect me."

Diana was taken aback. "Huh?"

"Your presence here won't affect my chances of finding a partner," Charles admitted, secretly hoping Diana would stay so Daphne would visit more often. "In fact, having you here might increase my chances."

"Really?" Diana's eyes lit up.

Before Charles could respond, Daphne denied it. "No."

"It won't affect anything," Charles decided to talk directly to Daphne, his deep voice tinged with complex emotions. "I can handle her school matters."

"No need," Daphne refused bluntly. "It's better for her to come back for school."

Charles pressed his lips together, feeling conflicted.

Diana spoke up, as if she had made up her mind. "I'll come back with Louis the day after tomorrow."

"Alright," Daphne agreed.

After the call ended.

Benjamin noticed Daphne's obvious relief and teased, "Are you that afraid of Diana staying there for school?"

"Are you not?" Daphne retorted.

"Why should I be?" Benjamin remained calm.

Daphne stared at him.

Benjamin pulled her into his arms, his eyes filled with the usual affection. "Why that look?"

"I'm seriously doubting if you really like me," Daphne said bluntly, her personality having softened a lot compared to before. "You had no reaction when Charles made Diana his goddaughter, and you didn't care about her wanting to stay there for school."

Wouldn't most people feel jealous or at least a bit concerned?

"Do you want me to prove that I like you?" Benjamin's hand slid to her waist, his lips curling into a seductive smile. "With Diana and Louis not around, I can completely show you."

"No need," Daphne immediately refused.

"Really?" Benjamin's voice rose slightly.

"I was just saying," Daphne quickly backtracked, not wanting to be too tired to move. "No other meaning."

"I don't mind Charles making Diana his goddaughter because having one more person care for her is a good thing," Benjamin explained, not wanting her to have any worries. "As for Diana wanting to stay in Ivrea City for school, do you think she can if I disagree?"

Daphne fell silent.

Benjamin reiterated his role. "I'm her dad."

"I'm going to work overtime," Daphne, realizing her misunderstanding, turned to leave.

Benjamin grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his arms. "I also want to work overtime with you."

"How about it?" Benjamin lowered his voice.

"Not a good idea," Daphne bit her lip, feeling weak at the thought of what he wanted to do. "Jesse said that project is urgent, I really need to go."

"I just asked Jesse, and he said HorizonTech Group has nothing urgent right now," Benjamin exposed her lie without hesitation.

Daphne froze, unsure how to respond.

Benjamin's hand traced her waistline, slowly exploring her delicate body. "Just for a while."

"My back hurts," Daphne said.

"No problem," Benjamin's hand ventured further, his voice carrying a hint of seduction. "You can just lie down."

Daphne wanted to refuse, but Benjamin's seductive skills were too strong, and she soon gave in.

As for Diana.

After the call, she told Charles about their plan to return the day after tomorrow.

"If you want to stay in Ivrea City for school, that's fine," Charles still hoped, his handsome eyes serious. "I'll explain it to your parents."

"No need," Diana shook her head firmly. "Mom's right, I shouldn't interfere with your dating."

"You won't interfere. Having a cute kid like you around will actually increase my success rate," Charles said.

Diana blinked.

Louis spoke up, "Charles, Diana isn't suited for school here."

"Yeah!" Diana nodded, Louis was always right.

Charles's eyes darkened. Did Louis somehow know what he was planning?

"It's better for me to go back home for school," Diana said seriously, recalling Daphne's words. "I'll visit Caspian when I have time."

Charles's thin lips pressed into a line, but he eventually agreed, "Alright."

That night.

The three chatted for a while before going to bed.

As Louis was about to lie down, Charles knocked and entered.

Louis was puzzled by his visit, unsure of his intentions.

"Can we talk?" Charles's gaze softened as he looked at Louis, who resembled Daphne a bit.

Louis leaned against the bed. "What do you want to talk about?"

"Diana can get a good education here too," Charles said, his thin lips forming each word carefully. "It won't affect her studies. And you can stay with her here if you want."

Louis gave a brief answer. "Our home is in Gedser."

Louis knew Charles could provide excellent education.

But the environment with Benjamin and Daphne was truly home.

"I can send you back during the holidays." Charles really wanted the kids to stay, even if just one of them.

"I know what you're thinking," Louis said directly. "But I want to tell you that both Diana and I are going back to Gedser."

Charles's deep eyes looked at him for a long time before he slowly said, "No room for negotiation?"

"No," Louis said firmly.

Charles's eyes darkened, emotions swirling inside him.

Louis added, "If you have your own child, Diana might visit more often."

"I'll talk to Diana," Charles said, standing up. "Good night."

"Charles," Louis called out.

Charles looked over. "What?"

"Letting go is the only way to start anew," Louis said seriously, his young voice carrying wisdom beyond his years. "If you don't, you'll never be able to restart."
