Chapter 749 Have You Taught These?

"I don't make decisions like that." Diana thought about what Caspian had told her before. "You can ask Caspian."

"I've called and messaged him, but he doesn't respond," Bodhi complained, sighing. "He still blames me for leaving him here alone back then. But if I hadn't left him here, would he have achieved what he has now?"

Diana was puzzled by his words.

Seeing that Diana didn't refute, Bodhi continued, "If I had taken him with me, he might just be an ordinary worker now, unable to receive the favor of you and Mr. Lancelot."

"Mr. Garcia." Diana's attitude turned cold, clearly displeased with his words.

Bodhi realized something was wrong. "What's the matter?"

"No matter where Caspian is, he would have achieved what he has now," Diana defended Caspian, unable to tolerate anyone speaking ill of him. "You abandoned him for your new family, isn't it natural for him to blame you?"

"You..." Bodhi didn't agree with her words.

In his view, because he left Caspian here, Caspian received Charles's guidance.

And because of Charles's guidance, Caspian became excellent and could have emotional ties with a wealthy lady like Diana.

Naturally, Bodhi credited all of this to himself.

"Moreover, even if you hadn't left him in Ivrea City, Charles intended to groom him as his successor," Diana spoke each word clearly, her impression of Bodhi worsening. "His achievements are all due to his own efforts, and have nothing to do with you."

"Ms. Reynolds, did Caspian say something to make you so hostile towards me?" Bodhi tried to change his image in front of Diana, as the Reynolds family and the Murphy family were very beneficial to him.

Just as Diana was about to respond, Bodhi spoke again, "I left him in Ivrea City back then not to abandon him, but so he could have better development. If he had followed me, he would have been struggling to get by and would have suffered."

"Struggling to get by?" Diana glanced at him.

Not to mention that Bodhi now looked quite plump, with Charles's guidance, his career gradually rose, making such a situation impossible.

"Back then, I was busy with work all day and couldn't take care of him, so he was struggling to get by," Bodhi said earnestly.

Diana responded directly, "If I remember correctly, when I first met him, he was cooking for himself."

"How is that possible? He was only six or seven years old when you met him," Bodhi refuted, trying to confuse her memory. "How could such a young child cook? You must be remembering later times."

"The one who is mistaken is you," Diana reminded, her clear eyes meeting his. "I remember everything about him very clearly."

Even though many years had passed. Those childhood memories were still vivid. She even remembered the smallest things clearly.

"Really?" Bodhi didn't expect Diana to remember.

"The first time I met him, you brought him outside and hit him in front of many people." Diana still felt heartache for Caspian when she thought of that scene. "The reason you hit him was because he scored ninety-five on a test."

Bodhi felt a bit embarrassed, chuckling awkwardly. "Back then, I was stricter with children, so I was a bit harsh."

"Was it harsh or did you want me to be smarter than the child from Mom's side, to make Mom regret? You know it in your heart," Caspian suddenly walked in, his cold voice devoid of much emotion.

Bodhi frowned, not knowing why he appeared.

Diana was also a bit surprised. "Why are you here?"

"Afraid he might have some ulterior motives towards you," Caspian said directly.

"Is that how you talk to me, your father?" Bodhi immediately expressed his displeasure, his handsome brows furrowing with strong discontent.

Caspian didn't answer his question, instead changing the topic, "What do you want from her?"

Hearing this, Bodhi restrained his emotions.

He knew very well his relationship with Caspian. Apart from raising him for a few years in childhood, he later essentially abandoned him.

If things got too heated, nothing might come of it.

"I heard you two are getting married soon. As your father, I should meet Ms. Reynolds' parents," Bodhi said directly, his purpose clear. "It's a normal thing."

"It's already done," Caspian replied.

Bodhi looked displeased. "How can it be done if the parents haven't met? Where did the etiquette I taught you go?"

Caspian's gaze fell on him, silently asking, "Have you taught these?"

Bodhi, knowing he was in the wrong, didn't continue.

"Are you sure you want to meet Diana's parents?" Caspian asked.

"Of course," Bodhi said seriously, not joking at all. "If you want to marry Ms. Reynolds, as your father, I should go through all the formalities with you."

"I've discussed everything with Mr. Reynolds and Mrs. Reynolds, except for the wedding conditions." Caspian's gaze fell on him, deliberately posing a difficult question.

Bodhi's eyes flickered. "Conditions?"

With Diana's family being so wealthy, what conditions could there be? Shouldn't they be giving him some cooperation or something?

"Yes." Caspian knew Bodhi very well.

Bodhi glanced at Diana, smiling slightly, and tentatively asked, "Ms. Reynolds' family is so wealthy, even if we emptied our family assets, they wouldn't care."

The Reynolds family and the Murphy family were indeed very wealthy. There were only a few families that could match them.

With his current unlisted company, its overall value was less than their quarterly dividend.

"It doesn't matter. What they want is an attitude." Caspian wanted to see how Bodhi would respond.

Bodhi was momentarily troubled, having to suppress his thoughts and ask Diana, "Ms. Reynolds, how much do you want?"

"Two hundred million dollars," Caspian answered for her. He subtly nudged her with his elbow, clearly wanting her to play along.

Bodhi's face changed instantly, but to maintain his composure, he asked, "Two hundred million dollars?"

"Yes," Caspian replied.

"Don't joke around. The Reynolds family and the Murphy family have so much money, how could they ask for money as a wedding condition?" Bodhi maintained his expression, trying not to look too bad.

To him, two hundred million dollars was a huge sum.

But to the Reynolds family and the Murphy family, it was just a small amount.
