Chapter 354 Whether I Want Or Not Is My Business. Whether She Looks for Me Or Not Is Hers.

Charles knew Daphne would never accept his confession.

But knowing it and hearing her say it were two different things.

"Mr. Lancelot," Mark said while driving, glancing at Charles in the back seat, "You should text Ms. Murphy. She must be worried."

"If she really cared, she'd have found me and taken me home by now," Charles replied.

Being the heir to the Murphy Group wasn't just a title; it showed capability.

The fact that he was still in Mark's car and hadn't been stopped proved his low status in Daphne's eyes.

Mark paused, recalling what he had told Daphne to keep her away.

"You sent so many bodyguards to block her," Mark tried to excuse Daphne, hoping to calm Charles. "Ms. Murphy might think you don't want to see her."

"Whether I want or not is my business," Charles said stubbornly. "Whether she wants to see me or not is hers."

Mark found him hard to argue with.

"From now on, your phone stays off," Charles said coldly, staring at Mark. "If I find out you're in contact with her, there will be consequences."

"If I don't contact Ms. Murphy, how will she find you?" Mark reasoned. "Don't you want her to take you back?"

"She has the skill to find me without your help," Charles said. "Unless she doesn't want to."

Mark was at a loss. What should he do?

"Give me Nina's info tomorrow," Charles suddenly remembered.

Everyone there had learned hacking from the king of hackers, except Daphne, which was odd.

Mark didn't think much of it and agreed. "Okay."

Charles didn't go back to their neighborhood but chose a hotel near Daphne's home.

At the hotel, Charles took Mark's phone and gave him another one.

"For your contacts and work," Charles said. "It's linked to my phone. I'll know who you contact or message with."

"Isn't this a bit much?" Mark hadn't expected this.

He thought he could use his father's phone to call Daphne, but now there was no privacy.

"Whether it's too much is up to me," Charles said. "You just need to do your job."

If Daphne didn't take him home within two days, he'd handle it in his way.

Mark was frustrated. Based on what he had told Daphne, she'd probably wait for his message. If he didn't send one, she'd think Charles was fine and wouldn't look for him.

"Mr. Lancelot," Mark tried again, "If you really like Ms. Murphy, you should talk to her properly, not throw a tantrum."

"Throw a tantrum?" Charles's eyes narrowed dangerously.

Mark took a deep breath. "Leaving in a huff after being rejected, isn't that throwing a tantrum?"

"No," Charles said seriously.

He had listened to her and behaved, but she still didn't like him.

If Benjamin had confessed first today, would Daphne have rejected him so bluntly?

Charles doubted it. She always treated Benjamin better.

If Daphne knew this, she'd probably be furious.

She treated Benjamin well, but she wasn't bad to Charles either. Except for being a bit distant at first, she had always been considerate of his feelings.

After getting home, she had called Charles. He saw it but didn't answer.

Mark couldn't understand and asked, "Why didn't you answer?"

"I was rejected and am now heartbroken," Charles said slowly, eyes fixed on the screen flashing Daphne's name. "If I answer the first call, what am I?"

If Daphne called him three times, he would definitely answer.

Unfortunately, she didn't call a second time.

After seeing the call went unanswered, Daphne didn't call again. She figured if Charles saw the call and was in a good mood, he'd call back or text.

If he was upset and still resented her rejection, a second call would only annoy him, so she only made one.

After the call, she texted Mark, asking him to take care of Charles and contact her if anything happened.

Then she called Brian. When he didn't answer, she called Richard.

Daphne knew Richard and Brian had a special relationship. Richard basically knew everything about Brian.

But she never asked about their exact relationship.

Richard answered Daphne's call just after getting out of the shower, with a towel wrapped around his waist. The heated room was warm.

He answered while drying his hair. "Daphne."

"Do you know what Brian's been up to lately?" Daphne got straight to the point. "Charles seems to have fully recovered his mind. I want to talk to him about something."

Richard looked out the door, paused, and asked, "Is it urgent?"

"Yes." Daphne thought about what Charles had said before leaving and felt his personality seemed a bit off.

"Hold on." Richard's voice was calm.

Daphne agreed and waited.

Richard opened the door and saw Brian sitting in the living room, looking pitiful. He frowned slightly.

Brian had been trying to figure out how to get Richard to forgive him.

The sudden sound of the door opening caught his attention, and when he looked over, he froze.

Richard wasn't wearing any clothes!

At that moment, Brian's mind imagined all sorts of things, even wondering if Richard had already forgiven him a bit.

But all his imaginings were shattered by Richard's actions and words.
