Chapter 705 If You're Unhappy, Come Home, Mom Will Take Care of You

Hearing about the bar, Caspian's first reaction was that Diana was scheming against Alvin.

His clear eyes showed a bit of emotion, and his voice lowered as he asked, "How much did you drink?"

"I didn't drink," Alvin answered very seriously, recalling the events with a bit of worry in his eyes. "Diana drank a lot. You can barely handle two bottles of that alcohol, but she had three."

Caspian's brow furrowed slightly.

"You have no idea how much she cried," Alvin began to lie. "She kept asking why you didn't like her, and tears wouldn't stop flowing. If Mr. Lancelot hadn't come, who knows what would have happened."

"She... cried?" Caspian felt a pang in his heart.

Alvin nodded. "Yes."

Caspian remembered what the neighbor girl had told him before, and his emotions became very complicated.

"Mr. Garcia, Diana is really a good person," Alvin continued. "You clearly like her, so why not be with her? The hardest thing to find in this world is someone who likes you back."

"Just do your job." Caspian didn't explain.

Alvin looked at him for a moment and finally said, "Yes."

After a while, Alvin left.

Caspian sat alone in his office, memories of him and Diana flooding his mind, from childhood to when they were older.

But no matter when, Diana always had a warm, healing smile on her face. Except for occasionally pretending to be angry, he had never seen her cry.

Diana was supposed to be happy all her life.

After some thought, Caspian called Alvin back in and gave him an instruction. "Go to the bakery and order a small cake, then send it to Diana."

"What flavor?" Alvin asked.

"I'll text you the specifics later," Caspian said each word carefully, his handsome eyes filled with emotion and complexity. "When you give it to her, don't say it's from me. Just say it's a tradition for the secretarial department when someone leaves."

"Yes." Alvin immediately went to do it.

An hour later.

Alvin bought the cake according to Caspian's instructions and took it to Diana.

Alvin looked around and, seeing no one else, said, "Mr. Garcia asked me to tell you that this cake is a tradition for the secretarial department when someone leaves. He told me not to say it was specially prepared by him."

"Okay." Diana smiled. "Thanks."

Alvin said it was nothing and was about to leave.

At the door, as if he remembered something, Alvin turned back and showed Diana the preferences and requirements Caspian had sent him.

"Mr. Garcia sent me this when he asked me to buy the cake." Alvin just wanted to help them. "Don't let him know."

"Okay," Diana agreed quickly.

After Alvin left, Diana carefully read the message he had sent. Seeing the instructions, her beautiful eyes filled with a bit of a smile.

Through this, Diana suddenly understood something.

Over the years, Caspian had always been paying attention to her preferences. Her tastes and habits had changed slightly as she grew up, and Caspian remembered every change clearly.

She didn't know what to say about him.

Diana put her phone away, opened the small cake, and started eating. With each bite, the smile in her eyes grew.

Caspian always asked Alvin about everything instead of checking himself. "Did she eat it?"

"No," Alvin lied seriously.

She didn't want the cake?

"Let me know when she eats it," Caspian suddenly said, his handsome eyes filled with complexity.

"She probably doesn't feel like eating." Alvin started making up stories, but his face was very sincere. "Before I gave her the cake, she was in a good mood. But after seeing the cake, her eyes suddenly turned red, and she... cried."

"What did you say to her?" Caspian asked.

"I just told her the cake was a tradition for the secretarial department when someone leaves, as you instructed," Alvin said sincerely. "I didn't say anything else."

"Call Charles and tell him Diana isn't in a good state." Caspian couldn't bear to see Diana too unhappy, and said with suppressed emotion, "Ask him what to do."

Alvin pursed his lips. "Isn't that inappropriate?"

"There's nothing wrong with it." Caspian knew how much Charles cared about Diana.

Even if she just had a little bit of unhappiness, Charles would do everything he could to bring her joy.

Charles really treated Diana like his own daughter.

"But if Mr. Lancelot finds out she's upset because you fired her..." Alvin paused, looking at Caspian. "What then?"

"He knows about this." Caspian always made decisions after discussing with Charles. "He'll find a way to cheer her up."

"Okay." Alvin didn't ask more.

After going out, Alvin told Diana about it, and Diana played along.

Because Charles didn't answer the phone, Alvin naturally didn't convey Caspian's message.

The day quickly came to an end.

When Diana left, she took all her things with her.

Seeing Diana carrying a bunch of stuff, Charles helped her with some and said as they walked, "Your mom messaged me today."

Diana was slightly surprised.

From what she knew of Daphne, she rarely contacted Charles proactively.

"What did she say?" Diana asked curiously.

"Not much, just asked how your pursuit was going." Charles didn't hide anything. "And your engagement with the Hagen family."

Diana paused, a bit nervous. "What did you say?"

"I don't know, not sure," Charles said.

Diana gave him a thumbs up. "That's why you're the best!"

"Find some time to explain to her. If she didn't ask you directly, she probably wants you to come up with an excuse yourself." Charles paused at the end.

Diana smiled. "Got it."

Daphne rarely asked about her affairs, but when she did, Diana never lied to her.

This time, Daphne messaging Charles first was to tell Diana that if it was convenient, she should explain things to her. If not, they wouldn't talk about it over the phone.

After putting her things away, Diana called Daphne.

During the conversation, Diana told them some things she could share and chose to hide some others.

For example, Caspian's illness.

"Liking someone should make you happy." Daphne loved Diana dearly. "If you're not happy with him, come home. I'll take care of you."
