Chapter 247 If You're In Danger, I Don't Want You to Hide It.

"Evan." Benjamin looked over.

Evan remained calm and composed, still looking scholarly. "I don't know. Daphne should have only told Kevin."

Kevin was stunned. Evan actually chose to lie! How shameless! Now, only he would be interrogated by Benjamin.

Kevin said, "You clearly know!"

"Know what?" Evan's face was full of confusion.

Kevin blurted out, "You know Daphne went because..."

He stopped abruptly.

In an instant, he understood everything and said to Evan, "Evan, you set me up too!"

He knew he couldn't say this in front of Benjamin, so he pretended to be clueless.

He went too far!

"What?" Evan still looked puzzled.

"Nothing!" Kevin said angrily, "I'm the only one who knows, okay!"

Evan's expression remained unchanged, showing no reaction.

This made Benjamin ponder even more.

Little did they know, Evan's heart was racing. It was the first time he had lied in front of Benjamin.

Hopefully, he could pull it off.

After a while, Daphne arrived.

The moment Kevin saw her, he rushed over, crying, "Daphne, Evan bullied me!"

Daphne was stunned.

She was holding a laptop.

After glancing at Evan, she asked Kevin, "How did he bully you?"

"Just now, Benjamin asked me what you went to do. I told him to ask Evan, and Evan said you only told me, not him," Kevin said a lot, "Please help me clarify."

Daphne didn't think much. "I indeed didn't tell him."

"Daphne!" Kevin looked like he was questioning his life. "How can you lie too?"

Daphne was stunned again, not understanding what Kevin meant.

"You clearly told all of us about this," Kevin suddenly leaned in and whispered, "How can you say Evan doesn't know?"

This made Daphne even more confused.

She calmly asked, "I only told you when I left, not anyone else."

"I'm talking about that person's matter," Kevin continued to whisper.

This time, Daphne understood.

She gave Kevin a complicated look, suddenly understanding why he was being set up.

He was indeed easy to give away clues when he spoke.

"Are you done?" Benjamin walked over, his tone calm.

Daphne replied indifferently, "Yes."

"Rest over there and wait for us for a bit. We're going to freshen up," Benjamin said, looking at his sweaty self.

Daphne said, "Okay."

So they went to take a quick shower and changed back into their original clothes.

They were quick, finishing in ten minutes and heading to the parking lot.

"I'll ride with Evan," Daphne said decisively when she saw Evan going to get the car, "I have something to discuss with him."

"Alright," Benjamin didn't say much.

Evan pursed his lips, looking a bit helpless.

Once in the car.

Evan looked at Daphne, who was sitting in the passenger seat. "Why are you avoiding Benjamin?"

"Is it that obvious?" Daphne didn't know Evan was Benjamin's person at the moment, so she was honest.

"Very obvious." Evan's voice was gentle. "Anyone who doesn't know might think you two have some grudge."

Daphne was taken aback.

Her mind wandered to what Lydia had told her.

Benjamin hadn't said anything earlier. Could he be thinking she didn't like him and was feeling emotional about it?

"Did you offend him?" Evan asked.

Daphne said, "More or less."

Daphne felt a headache. She was mainly worried that Benjamin would try to get information from her later.

Evan's eyes flickered. "Benjamin isn't as serious as you think. Sometimes, he might just be genuinely looking out for you, not setting a trap."

"When he deals with smart people, they naturally don't feel his pressure," Daphne, being familiar with Evan, said, "But for us, he indeed feels that way."

Evan was stunned.

He suddenly worried if Benjamin could really win over Daphne.

Compared to the calm conversation here, Kevin was much more nervous over there.

Because of Benjamin's question.

"Tell me, what are you all hiding from me?" Benjamin asked casually while driving behind Evan.

His tone was clearly nonchalant.

But Kevin was scared.

He sat there like a steel board, not moving, his eyes darting around. "Nothing, really!"

Benjamin asked, "Really?"

Kevin said, "Benjamin, are you being too paranoid?"

"If it's really nothing, why did Daphne ask Charles for a laptop when she left?" Benjamin's observation was meticulous.

Kevin said, "Maybe she wanted to use a computer."

"If she wanted to use one, would she need to buy a new one?" Benjamin asked again.

He knew how picky Daphne was about computers. The one she brought back was clearly chosen in a hurry.

Kevin was speechless.

Benjamin occasionally glanced at him, not saying a word, but creating immense psychological pressure.

Kevin couldn't take it anymore.

He reluctantly called Daphne, making an excuse, "Daphne, can we switch cars? I'm not used to Benjamin's driving and feel like throwing up."

Both Daphne and Benjamin were speechless.

"It's not far. Hang in there." Daphne didn't want to switch either.

"I can't hold on!" He made some retching sounds, pretending he really couldn't take it. "Daphne, please save me."

Daphne said, "I got it."

Hearing Daphne's words, Kevin sighed in relief.

Benjamin looked at him and said, "Pathetic."

Kevin remained silent.

He didn't care if he was pathetic.

The important thing was to get out of this car and avoid Benjamin's questioning. After tonight, he would find a way to avoid Benjamin as much as possible.

As he thought this, Evan's car signaled and pulled over.

Kevin quickly got out.

As he stood by the passenger seat, ready to get in, Daphne rolled down the window and said, "Sit in the back."

Kevin asked, "You're not going to Benjamin's car?"

Daphne was silent; she didn't want to go; she felt helpless.

If she didn't go, she feared Benjamin would be sensitive and think they were excluding him.

"Next time you feel like throwing up, I won't let you switch cars." Daphne finally got out, mentally preparing herself. "Next time, swallow whatever you feel like throwing up."

Kevin was shocked. How could Daphne be so ruthless with her words?

Daphne completely ignored his pitiful face and calmly walked to the car behind.

As for the laptop, she left it in Evan's back seat.

She opened the car door and got in. Just as she fastened her seatbelt, Benjamin's deep, slow voice called her, "Daphne."

She asked, "What's up?"

"I don't interfere in ordinary matters." Benjamin turned to look at her, his eyes more serious than usual. "But if you're in danger, I don't want you to hide it."
