Chapter 757 I'm Afraid I Might Fall for You in the Future
"Mr. Reynolds, is this true?" Vance finally saw hope and felt much better.
Louis remained expressionless, his voice as cold and distant as ever, "It's true, but there's a condition."
"Go ahead."
"Give Lyra her things now."
"This..."
"If you agree, I'll call my secretary right now and have him bring over the cooperation project for you to review." Louis's intention was clear, though no one noticed, "If it's suitable, we can sign on the spot."
Lyra squeezed his hand and asked in a low voice, "What are you doing?"
Louis didn't answer, just squeezed her hand back to reassure her.
"Alright!" Vance's smile was almost too wide for his face.
Then Louis called his secretary.
For over an hour, they all sat in the living room.
Vance kept having people make tea and prepare fruit plates, being particularly hospitable.
Lyra never expected things to progress this way. While Vance went out to take a call, she couldn't help but quietly ask Louis, "Do you know what you're doing?"
"Helping you get what's yours," Louis answered directly.
Lyra's gaze towards him changed slightly.
As if asking, "Are you crazy?"
Louis understood her meaning but didn't explain further, only asking her, "Do you trust me?"
Lyra's usually cold face showed a slight emotional fluctuation.
"What I mean by what's yours isn't just what your mother left you." Louis seemed like a gentleman, but his methods were formidable.
Seeing his serious expression, Lyra seemed to understand something, "You mean the Cole family?"
Louis nodded.
He had looked into Lyra's family background and knew about the excessive things her father had done.
Cheating during the marriage, secretly transferring assets, and by the time Lyra's mother found out, there was almost nothing left of their joint property. He even brought his mistress and her daughter home.
All these things proved that Vance was a scumbag.
"Though his character is poor and he's greedy for fame and fortune, he's very cautious in business." Lyra knew what he was planning and said complicatedly, "It's difficult to do anything about it."
"It's not difficult." Louis was confident about this matter.
It might be difficult to deal with his parents, but Vance was simple.
He didn't tamper with the cooperation project or the contract; it was just an ordinary contract, able to withstand scrutiny.
What he did was something else.
After about half an hour, the secretary finally arrived.
Seeing that the cooperation partner was the Cole family, he specifically checked it out. After checking, he looked at Louis hesitantly, "Mr. Reynolds, are you sure you want to give this cooperation to the Cole family?"
Hearing this, Vance immediately got nervous, afraid that Louis would change his mind at the last minute.
"Yes." Louis answered coldly.
The secretary didn't say much more. Since it was the boss's decision, there must be a reason for it.
Louis handed the project content and contract directly to Vance, his every move exuding nobility, "Please review."
Vance's heart was filled with joy.
He carefully reviewed the project and contract.
After flipping through the last page, he had only one thought in his mind: The Cole family was going to get rich.
He really didn't expect Louis to give him such a good cooperation.
"No problem." Vance tried to contain his excitement, but thinking about this lucrative cooperation made it hard to control, "Shall we sign and seal now?"
"Lyra's things." Louis reminded.
At this moment, Vance didn't care about those things anymore; they were useless to keep.
He hadn't given them before to use them to make Lyra obedient, but now with such a good cooperation and her marrying Louis, he had no interest in them anymore.
In no time, he went upstairs to get the box.
"Your mother didn't tell me the password." Vance's attitude towards Lyra had improved significantly, and he was much more patient, "She said you know it."
Lyra held the box in her arms, carefully checked it, and then entered the password to open it.
Seeing the contents, she felt completely relieved.
"Is this it?" Louis asked with concern.
Lyra closed the box and locked it, her usually calm mood becoming a bit complicated, "Yes."
After getting a definite answer, Louis signed his name on the two contracts and stamped them. After finishing, he took Lyra's hand and stood up, "Coordinate with my secretary for the rest. We're leaving."
"Mr. Reynolds." The secretary suddenly spoke.
Louis stopped.
The secretary glanced at their clasped hands and felt a bit gossipy, "Is this Mrs. Reynolds?"
"Yes." Louis admitted without any hesitation, "My fiancée."
"Hello, Mrs. Reynolds."
"Hello."
After a brief greeting, Louis left with Lyra.
Seeing this brief series of conversations and the smooth signing of the contract, Vance understood that Louis was serious about Lyra.
The secretary, who was usually businesslike with everyone except those he recognized, spoke to Vance without much emotional fluctuation, "Sign and seal here, and the contract will be officially effective."
"Alright." Vance didn't hesitate.
After running the company for so many years, he could tell if there were any traps in the contract.
He signed with a mix of excitement and nervousness.
Meanwhile.
Lyra got into the car with Louis, holding the box her mother left her, and sincerely said to Louis, "Thank you."
"You are welcome." Louis started the car after she fastened her seatbelt and asked her a question, "When do you plan to go with me to handle the transfer procedures?"
Lyra looked puzzled, "What?"
"My sincerity for marriage." Louis's words were very direct.
"No need." Lyra refused in a calm tone and explained, "Between us, it's just cooperation, no need to involve these things."
"If you're busy, I'll have my secretary handle it." Louis was particular about these things. Even if it was just a cooperative relationship, he was used to giving the girl all the ceremonial aspects, "You're my fiancée, and you should have what a fiancée should have."
"Louis." Lyra called his name.
Louis glanced at her.
Lyra straightforwardly said, "Don't be too good to me, I'm afraid I might fall for you in the future."
"Why be afraid?" Louis didn't understand her thinking and asked directly, "Whether you fall for me or not, you're my other half. In my world, there's only you."
Lyra was stunned.
Why did she initially think Louis was a cold and unfeeling workaholic?
