Chapter 649 You'll Understand When You Grow Up

"Shouldn't you explain how a little kid like you knows so much?" Austin stared at the cute and well-behaved Molly in front of him, suddenly letting his imagination run wild.

He had always heard people say that kids these days are more mature, and now he realized it was true.

"I've seen a lot, so I understand a lot," Molly replied seriously. "We may be young, but we're not dumb."

Austin stared at her.

Molly blinked in confusion.

"Tell me," Austin suddenly put on a serious face.

"Tell you what?" Molly asked, still confused.

"Are there kids at your school who are dating early?" Austin suddenly began to worry that someone might be pursuing Molly. "Is someone pursuing you?"

"I'm only in first grade," Molly kindly reminded him.

Austin knew that, but Molly's thoughts seemed a bit too mature.

"I'm not that mature," Molly said seriously, looking at Louis who was guiding Diana in playing with something. "Louis is the really mature one."

After all, Louis thought like a little adult and was far ahead of them in learning. A kindergarten kid who already finished their textbooks.

Austin followed Molly's gaze and had an idea. "What do you think of Louis?"

"Smart," Molly replied. "Other than Diana, nothing seems to stump him."

Austin pressed his lips together but said nothing.

If it was Louis pursuing Molly, it might not be a bad thing.

"Go find Mom," Molly said, standing up with her things. "I'm going to play with Louis and Diana."

With that, Molly joined Diana and Louis for fun.

Kids got along quickly, especially since the three of them had grown up together.

Austin watched the three children having fun and didn't immediately go to find Daisy. Instead, he walked over to Benjamin and said, "Can we talk?"

"Go ahead," Benjamin replied lazily.

"Have you considered letting Louis and Molly be together when they grow up?" Austin asked tentatively.

Benjamin and Jesse both looked at Austin at the same time.

Austin felt a bit awkward under their gaze and coughed lightly. "What's wrong?"

"Daphne doesn't plan to interfere with the kids' relationships," Benjamin rejected the idea, his lazy tone matching his perfect features, making him quite attractive. "And I agree with her."

No matter how well they got along with each other as kids, unless they stayed in the same school and class, they would gradually drift apart as they grew up. Only a few relationships could be maintained.

"Really not considering it?" Austin asked again.

"You can talk to Gilbert from the Fisher family if you insist," Benjamin suggested. "But his kids probably won't agree."

Lon and Noe mostly played with Diana.

Seeing that Benjamin wasn't joking, Austin had to give up.

After a day, Benjamin told Daphne about it.

There were no secrets between them, sharing daily life and events was the norm.

Coincidentally, Daisy overheard this.

When they got home, Daisy asked Austin, "Did you talk to Benjamin about Louis and Molly being together when they grow up?"

"How did you know?" Austin was slightly curious. "I thought Molly had a good opinion of Louis, and Louis is smart and cute, so I thought it's good for them."

Daisy stared at Austin, doubting the truth of his words.

Austin didn't move.

"Louis and Molly are just playmates. There's no future for them," Daisy said, understanding Molly well. "Don't mess with these things."

"Got it," Austin agreed quickly.

Daisy continued to stare at him, wondering if she should talk to him about something.

Austin noticed she had something on her mind. "What's wrong?"

"You won't arrange a marriage for Molly in the future, right?" Daisy asked tentatively.

In big families, most marriages were arranged.

Although Molly wasn't part of the Hill family, she was still Austin's biological daughter.

"Of course not. Do I seem like that kind of person?" Austin immediately reassured her, not wanting Daisy to worry about such things. "I can promise you right now, Molly's happiness will be her own decision. I won't interfere."

"Okay," Daisy felt relieved.

Although Molly was still young, Daisy hoped her could be relatively free in the future.

Molly's life should be as much her own choice as possible.

"Daisy," Austin had a plan in mind and wanted to ask her opinion first.

"Yes?" Daisy responded.

"Are you free on the 10th of next month?" Austin looked at Daisy with a hint of anticipation in his eyes. "I want to invite you to a movie."

"Which movie?" Daisy asked.

If she remembered correctly, several movies were coming out next month.

Some movies were worth seeing in theaters, but some directors and actors were known for making bad films.

"Don't worry, the quality is guaranteed," Austin said, knowing her concerns. "You even praised it before."

"Okay," Daisy agreed.

After all, she had some free time.

Austin felt a surge of excitement but maintained his calm exterior. "Then it's settled. On the 10th, your time is mine. After the movie, we'll grab something to eat and take a walk."

"That's a Friday," Daisy noted, looking at her phone's calendar.

"I'll talk to Daphne and have her take Molly to her house," Austin replied naturally, as if he had already thought it through.

After thinking for a while, Daisy agreed.

After getting her answer, Austin's face lit up with a happy smile.

"It's just a movie," Daisy was puzzled by his excitement. "Why are you so happy?"

"As long as it's just the two of us, I'm happy," Austin quickly said, not wanting to reveal his true feelings.

Molly suddenly appeared, her soft voice full of cuteness, "Daddy, are you saying I'm an extra?"

Daisy stood by Molly's side. "Mr. Hill, why aren't you answering?"

"Of course not. The three of us are a unit, indispensable," Austin said, squatting down to talk to Molly and gently pinching her cheek. "But sometimes, we need a little alone time. You'll understand when you grow up."
