Chapter 382 Easy to Be Addicted

Daphne's heart raced a bit, so she didn't respond.

She realized something: when a usually calm person falls in love, they get hooked and obsessed more than anyone else.

"I'll get Gavin some water," Benjamin said, trying to keep his cool. "You go watch TV."

"Okay," Daphne mumbled.

Benjamin gave her hair a quick ruffle before taking the water to Gavin.

Gavin sat on the bed, looking annoyed. "I saw it."

Benjamin wasn't surprised. He'd heard Gavin's footsteps earlier.

"You bullied Daphne," Gavin said.

Benjamin replied, "You'll want to bully someone too someday."

Gavin snapped, "I want to bully you!"

Benjamin handed him the cup. He knew Gavin meant he wanted to hit him, thinking Benjamin had bullied Daphne.

Gavin didn't want to worry Daphne, so he drank the water.

After telling Gavin to rest, Benjamin left.

That night, Gavin behaved unusually well. He drank the water and went to sleep without any fuss.

Once Gavin was settled, Daphne decided to leave. It was late, and she had noticed Benjamin's change in body temperature earlier.

"Leaving already?" Benjamin's voice was smooth.

Daphne tensed up. Was he going to kiss her again?

Benjamin hugged her, feeling happy. "I have a task for you."

"What?" Daphne asked.

"Think of a cute nickname for me," Benjamin said.

"It's weird for me," Daphne explained. Once she got used to calling someone a certain way, it was hard to change.

Benjamin sent her off, telling her to think about it.

When Daphne got home, Lydia was watching TV. She paused the show and asked, "Daphne, did you really get together with Benjamin yesterday?"

Daphne nodded. "Yeah."

Lydia asked, "How does it feel?"

Daphne was puzzled. "What do you mean?"

"Being together, does it feel happy?" Lydia was curious.

"Very comfortable, very reassuring," Daphne shared.

Thinking Lydia might have some advice, Daphne asked, "How do you and your boyfriend address each other?"

Lydia was stunned. "What?"

"You know, pet names. What do you guys use?" Daphne clarified.

"Just Nick and Lydia," Lydia said, looking away.

Daphne saw through her. "What about when it's just the two of you?"

Lydia hesitated, feeling a bit shy. "Baby, or sweetheart," she finally admitted.

Daphne paused, imagining calling Benjamin that, and decided it didn't fit them.

"Why are you asking?" Lydia wondered.

"Benjamin wants me to think of a cute nickname for him, but I can't come up with one," Daphne explained.

"That's easy—baby, darling," Lydia said, getting excited. "Whatever you call him, Benjamin will love it!"

"Not formal enough," Daphne said seriously.

"Why be formal in a relationship?" Lydia said earnestly. "In public, call him Benjamin. When it's just you two, it should be intimate and fun."

Daphne paused. She had always been formal with Benjamin.

"You can also act a bit spoiled," Lydia advised. "Ask him to open a bottle for you or carry your bag."

Daphne thought about it but felt Lydia's advice didn't quite suit her.

"Every couple has their own way of interacting," Lydia concluded. "Just remember, you have a boyfriend now."

Daphne had always been independent, even with Gavin around.

"I'll think about it," Daphne said seriously, then reminded her, "Don't watch TV too long. Go to bed early."

"Okay," Lydia agreed.

Daphne nodded and went to the study.

While Daphne was looking up cute nicknames, Benjamin was thinking about their future together.

Just as he started thinking about planning the wedding, his phone rang.

Seeing the caller, he answered, his voice more distant than with Daphne. "Hello."

"Benjamin," a cheerful female voice said. "It's Mira."

"I know," Benjamin replied calmly. "What's up?"

"I heard from Anouk that you're in a relationship?" Mira asked.

"Yeah," Benjamin confirmed.

"Is she Daphne?" Mira inquired.

"Yeah," Benjamin said again.

"There's something I don't know if I should tell you," Mira hesitated. "She might not be a good person, you..."

Benjamin hung up without hesitation, then blocked and deleted the number. No one could slander his girlfriend.

Mira, seeing the call disconnected, thought there was a problem. It wasn't until she tried calling again that she realized she had been blocked.
