Chapter 753 I Won't Drag You Down

"I won't drag you down," Lyra promised, her eyes resolute. "Nor will I let people in the circle mock you for marrying someone useless."

She knew what this circle was like.

People like Louis, with status, would only marry daughters of equally powerful and influential families.

Marrying someone like her, with no background, would only make him a subject of gossip.

"Don't mind others' opinions," Louis didn't care about these things at all. He only cared about one thing, "Just keep your original intention and continue your research."

"Okay," Lyra nodded.

After their conversation, they each went back to their rooms to wash up and sleep.

To outsiders, their decision seemed very hasty.

But only they knew that choosing each other as their marriage partner was a well-thought-out decision.

They both knew clearly that the other was the most suitable for them.

Lyra was, and so was Louis.

After resting that night, Louis thought it over and sent a message to Diana, telling her his decision: [After you get engaged to Caspian, I'll register my marriage with Lyra. Help me act in front of Mom and Dad.]

Diana's big eyes were filled with confusion.

So soon?

Diana typed on the keyboard and sent him a message: [Are you really deciding to marry Lyra? You know Charles and Mom also got married hastily, right?]

Louis replied quickly: [I know.]

Diana didn't know if she should say more.

Perhaps because she had seen the result of Charles and Mom, she always felt that a hasty marriage was unreliable.

They hadn't deeply understood each other, so how could they know if the other was suitable?

[I understand emotions and responsibilities better than Charles, and I won't have the same ups and downs as he and Mom did.] Louis told her, although the siblings were not usually sentimental, they hoped each other could be at ease in major life events, [Our marriage may seem hasty, but both of us have considered it thoroughly.]

Lyra considered his background, connections, character, and personality.

He considered Lyra's abilities, character, and personality.

Lyra was satisfied with him, and he was also satisfied with her.

Seeing this, Diana knew he wasn't lying: [Alright.]

Louis: [Hmm.]

[One more thing.] Diana was still particular about the address.

Louis: [Go ahead.]

"Next time we meet, should I call her Lyra?" Diana sent this as a voice message, "And how should I interact with her?"

Louis didn't hesitate and gave the simplest answer, "Once we're married, she'll be your sister-in-law."

Hearing this, Diana felt relieved.

Caspian, seeing her chatting with Louis for a while, glanced at the juice from time to time.

If they kept chatting, the juice would no longer be fresh.

Thinking of this, he opened his phone and sent a message to Louis: [Chief, I made juice for Diana.]

When Louis saw this message, he paused, understanding the implication, and ended the conversation with Diana.

After ending the conversation.

Caspian gave the juice to Diana. To ensure she could sleep well later, he even took a bath with her in advance.

Seeing her drink the juice sip by sip, Caspian turned on the TV and accurately found a ridiculous drama.

Diana looked at the TV show he had opened, feeling very puzzled. "Since when did you like this?"

"Just watching," Caspian replied simply.

Diana responded with a couple of sounds and didn't say much. She took a few more sips of juice and sat on the sofa to watch with him.

She was never very interested in such ridiculous idol dramas.

The only two she had forced herself to watch were recommended by Chloe, for a simple reason: Chloe had invested in them.

The results showed that Chloe had a good eye for investment, as both dramas had become somewhat popular.

But the one Caspian found was really unbearable for her.

The characters and plot were unoriginal.

"Caspian."

Caspian noticed her sleepy eyes and responded gently, "Hmm?"

"Why did you suddenly want to watch this?" Diana asked with some confusion, unable to understand his quick change in taste, "Didn't you always watch other types before?"

"Our entertainment company invested in it," Caspian found an excuse, "I want to see how their investment judgment is."

"Very bad," Diana blurted out, immediately seeing that this drama wouldn't be a hit.

"If you're sleepy, just lie in my arms and sleep," Caspian adjusted his position to make it easier for her to sleep later, "I'll just watch the first two episodes."

"I'll keep you company," Diana said.

Caspian's voice was gentle, "Okay."

The two of them sat there watching TV.

As Louis had said, within ten minutes, Diana was too sleepy to stay awake.

She tried to keep her eyes open to watch with Caspian, but her eyes and brain were not cooperating. Within eight or nine minutes, she had fallen asleep in Caspian's arms.

When she closed her eyes, Caspian pulled a blanket over her.

Diana didn't react.

Caspian watched for another twenty minutes before gently touching her arm and softly calling her, "Diana."

"Diana?"

After calling her twice and seeing she was still deeply asleep with no reaction.

Caspian took out three ring sizers from his pocket, roughly the size of Diana's fingers. After ensuring the sizers weren't cold, he carefully placed them on Diana's fingers.

In two minutes.

With a nervous and anxious heart, he measured the ring sizes for her ring finger and middle finger.

Seeing she was still asleep, Caspian quickly turned off the TV and gently carried her back to the bedroom.

As soon as he placed her on the bed, Diana groggily opened her eyes.

"I'm just moving you to the bed," Caspian covered her with the blanket.

Diana's eyelids were heavy as she lifted them slightly, realizing she was in bed. She asked in a soft, sleepy voice, "Why did you carry me in?"

"I fast-forwarded and finished watching," Caspian casually lied.

Diana rubbed her eyes, sitting up drowsily.

Caspian looked at her in confusion, "What's wrong?"

"I drank juice, need to brush my teeth," Diana felt completely groggy, her head heavy.

Caspian then took her to wash up.

When the cold water hit her face, Diana became much more awake.

Looking at her well-groomed self in the mirror, she felt a bit disheartened.
