Chapter 725 Why Apologize

"Leave?" Diana was slightly puzzled.

Clearly, she didn't understand why he would say that.

Caspian pursed his lips and looked at her, feeling very uneasy inside.

"Do you really want me to leave?" Diana asked him back.

"It's up to you." Caspian didn't know how she would view him. At this moment, he was just Caspian, not the admired president of the Lancelot Group. "Whatever you decide, I won't stop you."

Diana took two steps closer to him, leaned in, and said word by word, "Then open the door."

Caspian was completely confused. "What door?"

"The door to your heart," Diana said matter-of-factly, with a hint of mischief in her beautiful eyes. "If you don't open it, how can I come in?"

Her simple words caused a tremendous change in Caspian's heart.

Diana was very close to him, her gaze meeting his deep eyes, and she directly asked, "After watching the surveillance, you should know what agreement we made."

Caspian didn't speak. But he recalled it.

"Now I want you to fulfill the agreement and tell me why you asked that question just now." Diana looked at him straightforwardly, her eyes very sincere. "Do not lie to me."

Caspian's Adam's apple bobbed, feeling complicated inside.

Diana took another step forward. "If you don't speak, you'll have to bark like a puppy."

Caspian made a barking sound.

At this moment, he didn't seem as cool and indifferent as usual, nor as soft and coquettish as last night. He looked very awkward.

He was a typical person who didn't like to talk.

"You did it wrong." Diana took out her phone and played something, saying, "This is what a real puppy sounds like. If you lie, you'll have to follow this."

As she finished speaking, a very cute and intense puppy barking sound came from her phone, which lasted about five seconds.

Caspian's handsome brows furrowed slightly, showing that he was somewhat resistant to this.

"You don't have to speak if you don't want to." Diana gave him a lot of patience. "I'll guess, and you nod or shake your head to tell me if I'm right, okay?"

Caspian was silent for a while, then nodded.

Diana paced back and forth.

Based on his previous reactions and her understanding of him, she tentatively asked, "You said that because you're afraid that after seeing you drunk last night, I won't like you anymore."

Caspian's gaze fell on her, and he nodded.

"Why would you think that?" Diana asked him.

Caspian wanted to speak but didn't know where to start. He found it difficult to decribe his uneasiness and anxiety.

"Because what I've seen before is your cold and quiet side?" Diana guessed again, genuinely not understanding this aspect.

Seeing her being so good to him, Caspian finally spoke, "Yes."

He was afraid that Diana's image of him would shatter. Whether as a child or an adult, Diana had always seen him as an older brother.

The role of an older brother should be mature and steady, but he was so childish last night.

"Fool." Diana flicked his forehead, speaking to him in a doting tone, "Everyone has many sides. Even if you have other personalities, I still like you."

"Why?" Caspian didn't understand.

Diana answered matter-of-factly, "Because it's all you."

These words echoed in Caspian's mind.

"In everyone's eyes, my main personality is cheerful and lively," Diana explained to him, feeling that Caspian was really silly in this aspect. "But I also have moments of sadness, depression, unhappiness, and irritability. Will you hate me when I have these emotions?"

"No, I like you," Caspian spoke up.

Diana nodded. "Then that's it."

Caspian still had concerns in his heart.

He could be decisive and straightforward in everything, handling things without hesitation. But not this.

"You can tell me whatever you're thinking. We're a couple, and we will live our lives together," Diana took his hand and explained. "I hope we can understand each other and waste less time on guessing, doubting, and being uneasy."

"Life is short, and I want to spend as much time with you as possible," Diana spoke her heart.

Rather than just heartfelt words, they were love words.

Caspian was deeply moved by these words. Under her sincere gaze, he finally faced his inner self. "I am your boyfriend."

"Yes." Diana nodded.

"I should be mature, steady, and capable of taking care of and protecting you," Caspian indirectly explained why he had that thought. "I shouldn't be like last night, needing you to take care of me."

Diana flicked his forehead again. "Are you silly?"

Caspian looked puzzled.

"You're my boyfriend, not God." Diana was very direct, her gaze falling on him. "No one says a boyfriend must always be mature and steady. With me, you can be childish, unreasonable, and just like you are now."

"We should help each other, trust each other, and move forward together." Diana told him firmly, guiding him out of those wrong life principles. "A romantic relationship, or a marriage, is about mutual achievement."

Caspian moved his lips, and after a while, he asked, "Do you hate me being like that last night?"

"No." Diana laughed, her eyes sparkling. "I liked it a lot!"

Caspian was slightly surprised. Liked it?

"You were cute and adorable," Diana spoke from her heart, smiling. "If possible, I'd like to see you drunk again."

Caspian had never expected this.

In his imagination, Diana liked him because he was more mature than his peers. If he lost it, she wouldn't be interested in him.

But now, he realized he had misunderstood her.

Amidst various emotions, he suddenly hugged Diana, and his once uneasy heart seemed to settle at this moment.

All his worries, concerns, and insecurities were finally completely resolved. He felt at ease.

"I'm sorry..." he apologized to her.

Diana raised her head, looking at him slightly puzzled. "Why are you apologizing?"

Caspian didn't say anything.

He just knew he owed her an apology.

Despite his retreat, she still cared so much about him. He had let her down.
