Chapter 525 Are you Sure?

"You were the one who said you wanted to graduate from grad school at twenty-one like Mom," Louis said, keeping his cool.

To pull that off, she had to skip grades; otherwise, it was nearly impossible.

"I know," Diana, who was acing her classes, replied, "That's why I'm having Noe tutor me."

Noe hesitated but eventually agreed to help Diana out.

Noe went to tutor.

Lon was left with nothing to do.

Louis, being a good host, handed him a few storybooks from the shelf. "These are Diana's. You can read them if you're bored."

"Can I go find Daphne?" Lon was still thinking about those hacking skills.

Louis paused, thought for a moment, and then took him to her.

When Daphne found out he wanted to learn hacking, she set up a few challenges to test his skills.

Turns out, Lon was a natural.

Of her students, Nina stood out as the most talented, alongside Kevin and Emma.

But now, Daphne realized Lon's talent was almost on par with Louis. If these two kids put in the effort, the future of network security was in good hands.

For the rest of the afternoon, Daphne taught Lon hacking skills.

Noe helped Diana with her homework.

Hestia left early because Gilbert had come to see her.

The only one with nothing to do was Benjamin, as Louis was busy watching Daphne guide Lon.

Benjamin stood at the door and coughed lightly.

Daphne was too focused to notice, but Louis turned to look.

Benjamin gave Louis a look, signaling him to get Daphne a glass of water since she had been talking for hours.

Louis signaled back that he had just given her some water.

Benjamin thought Louis was too considerate, leaving him with nothing to do.

"Take a break," Benjamin walked over and stood behind Daphne, placing his large, warm hand on her shoulder. "Sitting for so long can make your back hurt."

After saying this, he gently squeezed her shoulder twice.

Daphne was momentarily stunned.

Benjamin bent slightly, his voice soft, "You hear me?"

"Just half an hour more," Daphne saw that Lon still wanted to learn and temporarily brushed off Benjamin. "Go check on Diana and see if they're tired from studying."

"I'll go," Louis volunteered.

As soon as he said this, both Daphne and Benjamin looked at him, clearly surprised by his reaction this time.

Louis walked upstairs without much explanation.

He used to go against Benjamin because he didn't understand some things. He thought Benjamin only knew how to deceive them and bully Daphne.

But after this holiday, he understood some things. Benjamin, like Daphne, loved him and Diana very much, and Dad also loved Mom very much.

When Louis went to the study room on the second floor, Diana was frowning at a problem, scratching her head and speaking a bit embarrassedly, "Noe, can you explain it to me again? I still don't quite get it."

"This problem is the same as the one above," Noe replied patiently.

Diana was distressed. "But I still don't understand."

Noe pursed his lips; it had been ten times already.

Given Diana's previous performance, she shouldn't have been struggling this much.

"This one?" Louis pointed to the only unanswered question.

Noe nodded. "Yep."

Diana shot Louis a look, silently begging him not to mess up her study vibe with Noe.

But Louis wasn't having it this time. "Take a good look at the problem above and think about how I explained it to you before."

"I can't remember," Diana said, trying to buy some time.

"Are you sure?" Louis pressed.

She wasn't sure at all, but she wasn't about to admit it.

"Use the method from the previous problem," Louis said firmly, stepping into his big brother role. "If you can't solve it, think carefully. If you still can't figure it out, no dinner tonight."

"Louis!" Diana glared at him.

Louis didn't budge. He knew she was faking it. She'd done this problem a bunch of times. Did she really think he wouldn't call her out?

"You have five minutes," Louis continued seriously. "If you don't solve it in five minutes, I'll go downstairs and tell Mom you're skipping dinner."

"Mean brother," Diana muttered but started working on the problem.

With the threat of no dinner, she couldn't keep pretending. She followed Noe's method and slowly worked through it.

When she finally wrote down the correct answer, Noe let out a sigh of relief.

Louis threw a cold remark her way. "You don't know how good you are until you're pushed."

Noe hadn't believed Diana when she said Louis was strict.

But after seeing Louis use dinner as leverage, he believed it.

"Diana is a girl," Noe said thoughtfully. He'd always wanted a sister. "As her brother, you could be a bit gentler."

"Exactly!" Diana jumped in. "You're always so strict with me."

Louis's eyes softened a bit. "Really?"

Diana nodded. "Yes!"

Louis asked again, "Are you sure?"

"Of course!" Diana, worried she'd give herself away, quickly pulled Noe along. "Noe, let's not play with him. Let's go downstairs."

Louis watched her retreating figure, his eyes calm.

He clearly didn't want to argue with her.

In the evening, Hestia came to pick up the two kids.

Diana didn't want Noe and Lon to leave, so she asked them to stay for dinner.

Hestia couldn't refuse and stayed for dinner.

During dinner, Diana sat next to Noe. For the dishes Noe couldn't reach, she stood up and got them for him, taking great care of him.

Lon saw this but said nothing, just quietly eating his meal.

After dinner, Hestia was about to leave.

Thinking about Diana's attitude towards him all day, Lon couldn't hold back any longer. He pursed his lips and asked Diana, "I have something I want to talk to you about. Can you come over for a moment?"

"Sure!" Diana was still enthusiastic.

The adults didn't interfere with the kids' matters and let them talk on their own.

Diana asked innocently, "Lon, what do you want to talk about?"

"If you could only play with one of us, me or Noe, who would you choose?" Lon asked directly.

Lon considered Diana his best friend, but from the way things were going, it didn't seem like she felt the same way.
