Chapter 681 Lon's Confession
Eddy looked puzzled. "Who?"
"Diana," Louis blurted out.
"She's just got issues with her perception," Eddy said without thinking. "Anyone with eyes can see Lon likes her."
Louis's eyes took on a dangerous glint.
Eddy sensed something was off. "Wh-what's wrong?"
"She sees Lon as a brother. Isn't it normal she doesn't notice?" Louis defended Diana.
Eddy swallowed. "They're not even real siblings."
Louis gave him a look, unwilling to respond further.
Louis knew how Diana thought. They had grown up together, and she always saw Lon as a brother. Plus, Lon had told her he liked a girl from their school.
With all that, it was hard for Diana to suspect Lon liked her.
"Can't I be wrong?" Eddy was scared of Louis's low mood. "I'm just anxious because they seem perfect for each other but aren't together."
"Why are you so anxious?" Louis asked him.
After a brief silence, Eddy stood up. "No way!"
"I can't just watch Diana ditch Lon for another guy," Eddy said, protective of his friends. "I have to let her know Lon has liked her for years."
"Aren't you afraid Lon will beat you up?" Louis kindly reminded him.
"Let him," Eddy said, loyal as ever. "As long as they end up together, it's worth it."
Louis said no more.
Diana and Lon being together was almost impossible.
"This game is so boring," Eddy said to Lon and Diana. "How about we play Truth or Dare? Each game winner can pick a loser for a truth or dare."
"Boring," Diana said.
"Just admit you're scared," Eddy teased.
"Yeah, I'm scared," Diana exaggerated. "With Eddy being so good, who here can beat him?"
"Let's play for a bit," Lon said, looking at Diana. "Do it for me."
Lon needed the game to distract himself, or he might reveal his feelings.
In the previous game, some subconscious actions almost gave him away.
"Okay," Diana agreed cheerfully.
Soon, Eddy gathered everyone, about six or seven people.
In the first few rounds, Eddy let them win. As the game master, he could win easily.
But everyone played cautiously at first, even if they won, they didn't make extreme demands. Eddy had to wait for the right moment to win without it being abrupt.
As Eddy expected, the initial dares were mild, like singing a song or sharing an embarrassing childhood story.
By the fifth round, people started suggesting more daring tasks.
Like confessing to the first person who walked by outside, or singing a love song to a pillar.
In the fifth round, Eddy stopped holding back. He was the best at these games.
Lon and Louis didn't win because they rarely played these games. If they wanted to, they could easily win after a couple of tries.
Unsurprisingly, Eddy won the fifth round.
Eddy's gaze fell on Lon, and he blurted out, "Confess to Diana with the most heartfelt words."
"Are you looking for a beating?" Diana snapped.
Lon had someone he liked, and this would make things hard for him.
"Don't be a sore loser," Eddy insisted. "If you don't do it, what will others think?"
Eddy continued, "Besides, when I lost as a kid, I did everything you asked."
"It's fine, it's not a big deal," Lon said. "I'll just practice on you. You can tell me if anything's off."
"Okay," Diana agreed.
Lon pursed his lips, his Adam's apple bobbing.
His eyes met hers, filled with all the emotions from their journey together.
"I like you. I'll cherish and love you for a lifetime," Lon's deep voice resonated, even if it was a fake confession, he felt nervous. "Will you be with me?"
"Say yes!" Eddy immediately cheered.
Diana scolded Eddy, "Don't be a fool. Lon completed your dare, let's move on."
At that moment, Diana didn't notice Lon's dimming eyes. After suppressing his emotions, he said in a normal tone, "Let's start the next round."
"We're not done yet," Eddy clearly wasn't letting them off.
Diana cracked her knuckles in a threatening manner.
Eddy coughed, intimidated. "Next round."
Determined to get Diana and Lon together, Eddy wouldn't lose the game.
Unsurprisingly, Eddy won the next round too.
"This time, I dare you," Eddy continued, looking at Diana, "to respond to Lon's confession with 'I will' full of deep emotion."
Louis pinched his brow. Eddy was really dumb.
"Fine," Diana didn't refuse, but made a deal. "If I win the next game, you have to call your mom and tell her you got three classmates pregnant, and you can't explain for a month, only admit it."
Eddy swallowed. "Do you have to be that harsh?"
"Still insisting on your dare?" Diana countered.
Eddy struggled, his rational side telling him to change the dare.
Diana wasn't great at games, but if she got serious, she might win.
But Eddy really wanted Diana and Lon together, to fulfill Lon's long-time crush.
Caught between two emotions, Eddy chose to continue. "I insist!"
"Sure?" Diana gave him one last chance.
Eddy was resolute. "Sure!"
"Alright," Diana adjusted her emotions, then looked into Lon's eyes, filled with emotion, and said, "I will."
