Chapter 730 Just Want to Show My Love

Louis didn't deny it. The main reason he came to pick up Diana was indeed to learn about Caspian.

In the morning, his parents suddenly told him that Caspian was coming to discuss the engagement with Diana, which made him feel a bit heavy-hearted.

If Caspian's condition was the same as before, he couldn't possibly agree to their engagement.

The minimum requirement was that Caspian's condition was stable.

It might seem overbearing, but he didn't want his sister to have any mishaps in the future.

"I've already told you about his condition before, haven't I?" Diana chatted casually, not playing with her phone.

"Through the screen, I can't tell if you're brushing me off or seriously informing me." Louis glanced at her, looking handsome in his suit. "I need you to tell me face-to-face."

"He's doing well now. Since we've been together, he hasn't shown any extreme behavior." Diana informed truthfully.

Louis kept his gaze on her. "Are you lying to me?"

"No." Diana shook her head.

Louis fell silent, the atmosphere in the car a bit tense.

Diana knew he was worried about her, so she added, "A few days ago, I went with him to see a doctor for a follow-up. The doctor said he's doing very well now, so you really don't need to worry."

Louis looked up at her.

Diana continued to speak on Caspian's behalf, "He was the one who suggested coming back to send Lon off."

"He didn't stop you?" Louis asked.

"No." Diana explained the situation. "Although he was a bit jealous, he still let me come back and even said that Lon had been very good to me, so I should see him off."

Louis didn't expect this. If Caspian remained like this, he would be reassured.

"Since he's doing so well, can you stand by us tomorrow?" Diana paved the way for Caspian in advance, hoping things would go smoothly when he met their parents. "If Mom and Dad want to make things difficult, you can speak up for him."

Louis looked puzzled.

Diana pleaded, "Please?"

"No." Louis refused without hesitation.

If Caspian couldn't even pass the parents' test, there was no need for him to be together with Diana.

Their parents never overly interfered with their relationships. As long as the person had good values and character, they wouldn't mind much else.

There was no need to make things difficult.

"Louis!" Diana continued.

Louis asked her back, "Do you not believe Caspian can get Mom and Dad's approval?"

"Of course I do. I'm just worried Dad might make things difficult because Caspian is Charles's heir." Diana said softly, "You know their relationship."

Louis's gaze became more unreadable. "If you know that, why did you still let Charles come?"

"You don't understand." Diana didn't explain the reason.

In other circumstances, she wouldn't have called Charles.

But Caspian was coming to meet her parents to discuss marriage. When it came to parents, Caspian might not know how to handle it. Charles could help him with it.

Besides, Charles had always wanted an excuse to come to Gedser but never found one.

Now he had one, so she brought him along.

But everything had pros and cons. She wasn't worried about other things, just that Dad might cause trouble.

"Dad might like to cause trouble sometimes, but he wouldn't when it comes to your life matters." Louis understood Benjamin. "As long as Caspian has good character, they won't make things difficult."

Their parents loved Diana so much; how could they let her be unhappy about such things?

"But..." Louis thought of something.

Diana leaned in to ask, "But what?"

"Nothing." Louis thought for a while and didn't say more.

Diana looked puzzled.

Facing her confusion, Louis didn't speak.

He wanted to say that their parents might want Diana and Caspian to settle in Gedser in the future, but since Caspian was the CEO of the Lancelot Group, they probably wouldn't make that request.

"You're going to be lonely for a lifetime like that." Diana was displeased.

Louis calmly retorted, "You mean like Charles?"

The car continued to drive forward. Over an hour later, Louis and Diana arrived at Daphne and Benjamin's current residence.

As soon as she got out of the car, Diana ran out and gave Daphne, who came to greet her, a hug. "Mom!"

Daphne lovingly ruffled her hair.

The two were affectionate for less than two minutes before Benjamin walked over and stood beside Daphne, speaking to Diana, "If you have a boyfriend, don't hug my wife casually."

"Mr. Reynolds, can you not be so possessive?" Diana retorted seriously. "Mom is a person, not your property."

She now felt that compared to Caspian, her dad was more possessive of her mom.

"I am your mom's property." Benjamin raised an eyebrow and replied.

Daphne gave him a look: "Stop being childish."

Benjamin's lips curved into a handsome smile, looking lazy and relaxed: "I'm not, I'm maintaining my position in your heart."

Daphne: "But you are competing with your daughter for affection, isn't that childish?'

Benjamin: "I just want to show my love for you."

Daphne was speechless.

Their eye contact made Diana give up.

She also understood that when it came to competing for her mom's affection, she could never beat her dad.

Just now, she had the upper hand, but her dad used a trick and exchanged glances with her mom, causing her hard-earned advantage to disappear instantly.

"You win," Diana said to Benjamin.

Benjamin wasn't proud, as this happened often.

Louis had been waiting inside for a long time without seeing them come in, so he came out and said to Diana standing in the yard, "Don't you have something to tell Mom and Dad?"

"What is it?" Daphne asked.

Diana scratched her head, hesitated for a moment, then pointed inside. "Let's talk inside."

Daphne and Benjamin went in with her.

Seeing her demeanor, they had already guessed a bit.

"I want to talk to you about Caspian and me." Diana was as direct as ever, but she was a bit nervous when she said the second half, "He's coming tomorrow to discuss our engagement, you..."

"Want to ask if we have any objections?" Benjamin's lazy voice slowly said.

Diana nodded. "Yes."

Benjamin looked at Daphne, and they exchanged glances without speaking.

The atmosphere made Diana a bit anxious, and she unconsciously bit her lip.

"You'll know when he comes tomorrow." Benjamin didn't give an immediate answer. "We can only give an answer after we get to know him."
