Chapter 661 To Me, She Is My Own Daughter
"The most important thing is, Charles can help you," Louis said earnestly. "Diana and I can help you too."
"No need," Caspian refused. "Thank you for your kindness."
Caspian didn't want to play mind games with Bodhi. If Bodhi wanted to beat him, once it was over, everything would be settled.
If he played mind games with Bodhi, he would face uncontrollable variables.
Louis saw his stubbornness and knew it was pointless to argue.
"Please help me say thank you to your sister," Caspian moved his lips and finally said.
Louis looked at him and didn't persuade further. "She'd rather know your name than hear a thank you."
"You can find out about my mom, so there's no reason you don't know my name." Caspian, though very smart, was quite cold.
"I do know," Louis said directly. "but if it's not from your own mouth, she won't accept it. Instead, she'll scold me for invading your privacy and not respecting you."
Caspian's eyes flickered.
After a while, he spoke, "Caspian Garcia."
"Thank you," Louis replied.
The two didn't talk further. Both were kids whose thoughts exceeded their age, with clear plans for their lives and futures.
About half an hour later, Bodhi brought Charles down.
Seeing this, Caspian went home on his own.
Diana wanted to catch up and say goodbye, but seeing him walk quickly, she gave up and just said to Louis, "Why didn't you keep him here for me?"
"Keep him for what?" Louis asked back.
"I haven't said goodbye to him," Diana said seriously.
Louis doubted, "He probably doesn't want to hear it."
"Louis!" Diana looked disapproving.
"Let's go home," Louis held her hand, his voice soft. "I'll tell you something you want to know."
"I don't want to know." Diana glanced at the elevator in the distance, a bit upset. "You promised that if he was leaving, you'd let me say goodbye."
"Don't you want to know his name?" Louis asked casually.
Diana answered, "No!"
Louis was surprised.
"Don't think I don't know you looked it up secretly," Diana said, a bit cutely angry. "You were using Charles's computer all afternoon. Even if I want to know, it has to come from him personally."
Louis walked ahead with his short legs. "He did say it himself."
"Really?" Diana's mood changed instantly.
"Yes."
"What's his name?"
"Didn't you say you didn't want to know?"
"I do!" Diana's voice was soft.
Louis teased her on purpose, "Aren't you afraid I looked it up myself?"
"No," Diana answered quickly.
She knew Louis well enough, he never lied to her.
"Let's go home first," Louis didn't tell her immediately, leading her to meet up with Charles. "I'll tell you when we go to bed."
"Louis."
"That won't help."
"Can you bear to see your cute sister unhappy?" Diana shook his arm, her eyes pleading. "If you don't tell me, I'll be sad all day."
"Today is almost over," Louis said. "Being sad for a while will let you experience more emotions."
Diana pouted and glared at him, "Louis, you're so mean!"
Louis's lips curled up slightly, a hint of affection in his eyes.
In many ways, he was mature, but when "arguing" with Diana, he showed a child's emotions.
"I'm not playing with you anymore." Diana let go of his hand and ran to Charles.
The three went home together.
Shortly after arriving home, Louis asked Charles, "How did your talk with that gentleman go?"
"He'll be quite busy for the next few years," Charles replied.
Kids usually handle things on the surface, while adults go straight to the core.
"What about that little boy?" Diana was only worried about Caspian. "Who will take him to school and cook for him?"
"He's always gone to school by himself, and he cooks at home too," Charles said, his usually indifferent face softening when he looked at them. "His dad being busy will only make his life easier."
Diana was silent for a moment.
Charles asked with concern, "What's wrong?"
"Charles, can I ask you a favor?" Diana's eyes were clear and pure.
Charles almost always granted her wishes. "Go ahead."
"This card has all my pocket money since I was little. Can you hire a servant for him?" Diana took out her card. "I want him to focus on studying and not be burdened by chores."
Charles instinctively glanced at Louis.
Diana being so nice to a boy, didn't he feel anything?
"I have more if it's not enough," Louis added.
Having witnessed Diana change playmates several times, Louis was calm, automatically interpreting her actions as kindness.
At this moment, Louis didn't know that Caspian held a special place in Diana's heart.
"I'll take care of it. You two don't need to worry," Charles said seriously. "I'll make sure he has a good life."
"Thank you, Charles!" Diana immediately brightened up.
After chatting for a while, Diana remembered what Louis had said earlier and tentatively asked, "Charles, do you know that little boy's name?"
"I do," Charles replied.
Diana's eyes lit up, and she hummed at Louis before saying, "Can you tell me?"
Louis cleared his throat.
Both Diana and Charles looked at him.
Louis then said, "Don't tell her."
Charles was a bit confused. "Why not?"
Louis replied, "I'll tell her later."
"Louis knows but won't tell me," Diana continued, clearly wanting to know. "I know you love me the most."
"His name is Caspian," Charles said without hesitation.
Louis froze for a moment, looking at Charles with some emotion.
Charles seemed to understand what he was thinking and explained to Louis, "I see her as my daughter."
"Just an adopted one," Louis pointed out.
"To me, she's my own daughter," Charles's thin lips parted, his deep voice filled with affection as he looked at Diana.
