Chapter 327 His Emotional Intelligence Had Skyrocketed

People who hadn't felt deep pain might say, "It's just feelings. Who cares?"

however, Daisy was different. She valued emotions and felt that taking money would cheapen the relationship.

So, she chose to take nothing to stick to her principles.

Some thought she was foolish. They believed Austin owed her and she should take her share of the marital assets.

But Daisy couldn't get past her feelings. She just wanted to cut ties with Austin completely.

Daphne, on the other hand, came from a wealthy family and had a different personality. Even if something came out, her background and status would protect her.

Unfortunately, Austin didn't get it. He thought Daisy still hated him and wouldn't accept anything from him.

"She doesn't want it, so you won't give it?" Charles sneered.

Despite his past mistakes, at least he gave Daphne enough money, a house, and a car.

Austin was a complete jerk.

"What can I do?" Austin thought Charles was acting weird. "She returned all the money I sent and said if I kept sending it, she'd make sure I could never find her."

Charles gave him a disdainful look.

Austin got provoked. "What's with that look?"

"Seems like you don't really like her," Charles said slowly. "If that's the case, don't bother her anymore."

"Who said I don't like her?" Austin didn't like that statement.

He was sure he liked Daisy.

He let her go when she wanted a divorce because he liked her so much.

"Stop pretending you like her," Charles said seriously. "If you had even a little love for her, you could have sent the money."

Austin wanted to punch him. What did he mean by pretending? But he asked, "Do you have a way?"

Charles said, "Call me 'bro'."

Austin immediately refused, "No way. When did you become so childish?"

Charles felt a surge of emotion: It was all because of Hayden.

Austin wanted to make it up to Daisy, so he reluctantly asked, "If I call you, will you tell me the way?"

Charles nodded. "Yes."

Austin reluctantly called him, "Bro."

Charles found it boring, with no sense of accomplishment.

Austin said, "Now, will you tell me?"

Charles said, "Call me 'big brother', three times."

"Charles, are you crazy?" Austin couldn't stand it anymore. "When did you come up with such a disgusting idea?"

Seeing Austin angry, Charles felt a bit better. "Call me or not, it's up to you. It's not my problem."

Austin didn't know who Charles had learned this from. Could it be Mark?

"I have things to do. I won't talk to you anymore." Charles stood up, still pretending, but inside he was back to his true self. "Suit yourself."

Austin suddenly called out, "Wait!"

Charles said, "What?"

Austin clenched his fists, his eyes burning with anger. After building up his mental strength, he gritted his teeth and said, "Big brother."

Charles sighed, "So unwilling, forget it."

"Big brother!" Austin spat out, really wanting to punch him.

Charles finally felt a bit accomplished. He wondered if Daphne would praise him for this. "Three times."

"Big brother." Each time Austin said it, he hated it more.

Charles said, "Keep going."

Austin was furious. "That's three times already!"

Charles replied, "The first time was so unwilling; does that count?"

Austin gritted his teeth and finally said, "Big brother!"

Austin thought that once he settled things with Daisy, he'd find a way to get back at Charles.

"Now will you tell me?" Austin asked, holding back his disgust and anger.

"Compensating her doesn't necessarily mean direct transfers." Charles thought Austin was incredibly dense, questioning for the umpteenth time what kind of people the old Charles had befriended.

Mark was incredibly dumb, and Austin wasn't much better.

"What do you mean?" Austin pressed. "Explain clearly."

"She's an actress." Charles remembered everything about Daphne. "You can quietly give her film roles and advertising deals."

"With her current status and influence, even if I give her resources, she won't get much." Austin had considered this, which was why he was worried. "She just moved up to the second tier, hasn't had any activities recently, and with some of my interference, she's almost back to the third or fourth tier."

"Can't you promote her?" Charles didn't even want to talk to him anymore.

"If I promote her, she'll definitely know." Austin had thought about this.

Austin had initially planned to give Daisy some money and then secretly promote her. But she seemed to have guessed it and directly told him not to interfere with her career, not to make her truly hate him.

As a result, Austin became distressed.

"With Daisy's excellence, she should have plenty of admirers around her." Charles's mind was much sharper now. "Find someone suitable to help promote her. Of course, this person should preferably have had conflicts with you before."

That way, it wouldn't be obvious.

Austin refused without hesitation, "No way, if I do that, Daisy will definitely be grateful to that person. What if she gets deceived?"

"If she gets deceived, Daphne is there," Charles continued, "Are you worried about her being deceived, or worried that she'll mistake someone else's intentions for yours?"

A simple sentence exposed Austin. Although he didn't want to admit it, he was really afraid Daisy would think someone else was being good to her.

Austin wanted Daisy to know he was good to her, and to resolve the unpleasant past between them. If he followed Charles's suggestion, wouldn't he be paving the way for someone else?

"If you can't do it, it means you don't love her as much as you think." Charles was now on Daphne's side, naturally speaking for Daisy. "Loving someone means giving without expecting anything in return."

Austin was struggling inside, wanting Daisy to know his goodness, but also wanting her to be happy.

"Even so, the person promoting her might not be able to make her a top-tier star. Besides, her dream is to be a performing artist." After much deliberation, Austin said this.

Daisy's dream was something he had only recently learned.

If he could go back in time, he would cherish her from the beginning.
