Chapter 506 Louis's Emotions

Diana gave the little boy a quick look, her voice barely above a whisper. "He's not a stranger."

"Do you even know his name?" Louis thought Diana needed a reality check.

Diana shook her head, honest as ever.

Louis pressed on, "Do you know where he lives?"

Another head shake from Diana. She'd only seen the kid twice; how was she supposed to know all that?

"If you don't know squat about him, why do you wanna go to his house?" Louis was baffled. If this were his little brother, he'd have already given him an earful.

Diana pouted, her big eyes showing she wasn't happy.

Louis grabbed her hand. "Come on, let's head home."

"Louis," Diana whined, feeling all wronged.

Louis gave her a stern look, which always made her a bit scared.

"Even if I don't know his name or where he lives, Daisy's been hanging out with him for ages," Diana said softly, her eyes all cute. "So if Daisy knows him, he's not a stranger."

Louis glanced at the boy, his brow furrowing.

Did Diana really like this kid that much?

"Do you wanna come to my house to play?" Diana asked the boy again.

Louis snapped, "Diana!"

Daphne had drilled it into them: "Don't force people to do stuff just 'cause you like it."

Diana, seeing a cute face, forgot all that.

"Come back with me now, or you are on your own." Louis wasn't about to let Diana's behavior slide. Today she's asking kids to come home, tomorrow she might just take them.

Hearing this, Diana pouted and obediently walked over to Louis.

The boy was cute, but Louis's words were law.

"I was wrong." She grabbed Louis's hand, admitting her mistake. "Please don't be mad."

Louis held her tiny hand, his tone softening. "Let's go home."

Diana nodded, giving the boy one last reluctant look but staying quiet.

"Wait a sec," the boy suddenly spoke up.

Louis and Diana both stopped.

Daisy and Gavin were watching from the sidelines.

"I can come to your house to play for a bit, but I gotta be home before dark," the boy said after thinking it over. "I can't stay overnight."

Diana's eyes lit up. "Really?"

The boy glanced at Louis, then nodded at Diana. "Yeah."

"Yay!" Diana let go of Louis's hand and ran over, super happy. "I'll give you my best toys and snacks later."

Louis just looked away, feeling helpless.

In the end, Gavin took the three kids home.

Daisy stayed with the crew 'cause she had scenes to shoot in the afternoon.

On the way back, the boy called his mom to let her know what was up. She was a bit worried, so the boy asked Gavin to give her a call.

After explaining everything, his mom finally chilled out.

"So, what's your name?" Diana asked, all curious.

The little boy didn't hold back, answering in his kiddie voice, "Lon Fisher."

"How old are you?"

"Five."

"Whoa, you're older than both Louis and me." Diana kept yapping the whole way, even saying something that stung Louis. "No wonder you're taller than Louis."

Louis felt a pang of hurt.

"Diana," Louis snapped, "shut up!"

Diana looked puzzled. "Why?"

"He might be mad," Lon said, his eyes darting around.

"Why would he?" Diana asked, genuinely confused.

"Because you said he's shorter than me," Lon nailed it, chatting away with Diana.

Louis really wanted to toss Lon out of the car.

Diana, clueless about Louis's thoughts, kept chatting with Lon.

The whole ride was filled with Diana's nonstop chatter.

When they finally got home, Diana didn't even wait for the driver to open the door. She yanked it open herself and dragged Lon towards the house.

Gavin and Louis stood there, each lost in their own thoughts.

For the rest of the morning, Diana was glued to Lon.

Gavin, sitting next to Louis, asked, "Was she always like this?"

"This is a first," Louis grumbled, clearly annoyed.

Before, Diana had wanted to bring home cute cats and dogs, but it was never this intense.

As for other kids, none of them were as good-looking as Louis, so Diana wasn't interested.

Louis glanced over at them, then went back to pretending to read his book.

"Feeling like your sister's being stolen?" Gavin raised an eyebrow, whispering.

Louis wouldn't admit it. "You're overthinking."

"Really?"

"Boring."

"So, you don't care at all that Diana's playing with Lon and ignoring you?" Gavin teased.

Louis tried to stay cool, his voice a bit icy. "I don't."

"Is that so?" Gavin dragged out his words.

Louis kept up the act.

Gavin smirked, "Then I guess I can agree to Diana's request without any worries."

Louis couldn't focus on his book anymore. "What request?"

"Nothing much," Gavin said, messing with him.

Louis's eyes narrowed, giving Gavin a look that said, "Spill it, or I'll keep staring."

"Seriously, it's nothing," Gavin said calmly. "She just wants to take Lon home tonight and stay over at his place."

"No way!" Louis shot back without thinking.

Gavin asked, "Why not?"

"Mom and Dad said we can't stay overnight outside without their permission," Louis quickly brought up Daphne and Benjamin.

Gavin shrugged, "I talked to your mom, and she gave the green light."

Louis was speechless.

Gavin looked at him and continued, "Relax. I checked. Lon's family are good people. Diana will be safe there."
