Chapter 662 Caspian
Louis looked over, and Charles calmly met his gaze.
In the end, Louis conceded.
"Charles, shall we go to play with Caspian tomorrow?" Diana, unaware of the tension between the two, innocently expressed her desire. "He's always alone, he must be very bored."
"Okay." Charles always agreed to her requests.
Diana smiled and said, "I knew Charles was the best."
Seeing Diana so happy, Louis didn't say anything more.
Anyway, having one more person to love her was a good thing.
That night, just before bed, Louis went to talk to Diana.
Diana was still upset that he hadn't told her Caspian's name right away. She huffed with a bit of a pout, "Louis, you're so mean."
"Speak properly," Louis said.
"It's true." Diana pretended to be angry with him. "You knew I wanted to know Caspian's name, but you didn't tell me."
"Do you remember the promise you made to Lon when we left Gedser?" Louis hinted.
Diana racked her brain, and when she remembered something, she froze.
She bit her lip, feeling a bit anxious.
"Lon called me three times today," Louis showed her the call log. "He said he was looking for you."
"Louis..." Diana immediately gave in.
"He asked why you haven't contacted him these past few days," Louis continued.
"I've been out playing with Charles and didn't have time," Diana explained. "And when I talked to Lon that day, I told him I'd contact him when I had time."
Louis didn't respond.
"Did you tell him about me and Caspian?" Diana quickly asked.
When she left, she hadn't thought much about it. Lon had asked if she would get along with other kids as well as she did with him, and she had said no because she didn't think anyone could be better looking than him.
But Caspian was good-looking, smart, and had a heartbreaking background.
Diana couldn't help but want to care for him.
"I told him to find you tomorrow," Louis said directly, not getting involved in her affairs. "You'd better be honest with him about this."
Although they were all still young, Louis could clearly feel that Lon cared a bit too much about Diana.
Even as her real brother, Louis was more lenient with her.
Diana responded with an "Okay."
That night.
While Louis was still curious about how Diana would confess the next day, Diana had already fallen fast asleep.
Clearly, although these things could trouble Diana, they weren't enough to keep her up at night.
The next morning.
After breakfast, Diana called Lon.
Lon was very happy to receive her call, immediately asking her if she was cold over there and if she was getting used to it.
"I'm very used to it!" Diana answered Lon's questions directly and even proactively confessed what had happened there. "I've also made new friends here."
Upon hearing this, Lon paused.
"Didn't you promise me you wouldn't play with other boys over there?" Lon felt a bit unhappy.
"Lon, are you upset?" Diana sensed his mood.
"If Lon met other girls during the holidays and got closer to them than to you, would you be happy?" Louis interjected appropriately.
Diana tilted her head. "Of course."
Lon paused.
Louis was also taken aback.
"The teacher said we should make more friends," Diana said earnestly. She didn't have much possessiveness about most things. "Lon is quite introverted. If you had other friends, I'd be very happy."
Hearing this, Louis realized something.
Both he and Lon, being more mature than their peers, had stronger possessive tendencies.
But Diana didn't. As long as they shared common interests, she could play with anyone. A child's world was always simple.
"But I was wrong. I promised Lon I wouldn't play with others but didn't keep it," Diana quickly said, very seriously. "It's my fault."
"It's okay," Lon also realized that some of his demands on Diana were too strict. After all, they were just kids. "As long as you're happy."
"Lon, do you want to come to Ivrea City?" Diana asked.
Lon shook his head. "No."
"Then we'll play together when we get back."
"Okay."
"Bye-bye."
"Wait a minute," Lon wanted to talk a bit more.
Diana looked puzzled. "What's wrong?"
"Are you going to play with your new friend later?" Lon asked, his eyes a bit complicated.
"Yes," Diana answered honestly, without lying. "But Caspian is quite introverted and doesn't really like to talk to us. I don't know if we can make him happy later."
Lon remained silent, feeling more and more down.
Diana sensed his mood change. "Do you not like me playing with Caspian?"
"No," Lon's voice was still soft, forcing himself to say something he didn't mean. "I just miss you."
"We'll be back in ten days," Diana said happily.
Lon responded with an "okay" and then said goodbye, and they hung up.
Diana didn't notice anything.
She believed Lon's last words.
She just thought that Lon was bored playing alone and that's why he was a bit unhappy.
"Diana," Louis suddenly wanted to confirm something.
Diana looked up at him, still looking cute. "Yes?"
"If Lon played role-playing games with others, would you be unhappy?" Louis asked directly.
