Chapter 678 What If Mom and Dad Want You to Marry for Alliance?
Diana agreed one by one, "Okay."
In fact, she wasn't worried about these things at all.
From the information she had gathered from Charles over the years, Caspian was a typical workaholic, cold and distant, with no women around him, much like when they first met him.
"When are you going?" Louis asked.
"Next Tuesday," Diana calculated the time. "Charles said Caspian is now busy with a big project and won't be free until Monday or Tuesday."
Louis pursed his lips, planning to test the waters. "What if Mom and Dad want you to marry someone else?"
Diana blinked blankly. "What?"
"If Mom and Dad don't let you be with Caspian and want you to marry Lon or Noe," Louis stared at her, not missing any change in her expression, "Would you agree?"
"Are you out of your mind?" Diana reached out to feel his forehead, looking puzzled. "Mom and Dad have always told us to make our own decisions, they never interfere with our marriages or careers."
They wouldn't even force Diana to manage the company, let alone marry someone.
"I said 'if'," Louis felt exhausted.
"No 'if'," Diana replied, looking at him with more confusion. "What are you thinking about all day?"
Louis gave up.
After the conversation, Diana went back to her room to sleep.
Louis lay in bed, unable to sleep. After much deliberation, he took out his phone and sent a message to Lon.
The next morning.
Diana was woken up by her phone ringing.
As soon as she answered, she heard Eddy's frantic voice, "Help me! Come to my place."
"What's the matter?" Diana asked briefly.
"My girlfriend is coming to give me trouble," Eddy explained anxiously. "She saw the photos from our gathering last night and insists I cheated. You need to come and clear my name."
"Can't you just explain it to her properly?" Diana said naturally.
"She doesn't listen to me," Eddy was extremely anxious. "I just said one sentence, and she scolded me. Now she's driving over here."
Diana sighed and went over.
When she arrived, Eddy was arguing fiercely with his girlfriend.
"I've said everything I need to say. Believe it or not!" Eddy stormed out.
Eddy's attitude clearly showed his impatience.
As he came out, he bumped into Diana getting out of her car. Without a word, he got into her car and said, "No need to explain to her. It's useless."
This scene was witnessed by the girl who had chased after him. She was very pretty, and the tears in her eyes made her look even more pitiful.
Seeing this, Diana frowned.
How could Eddy bear to make such a pretty girl cry?
"Why aren't you getting in the car?" Eddy asked, slightly puzzled.
Eddy's girlfriend cried even harder.
Diana couldn't stand seeing girls cry. She went to the passenger seat, pulled Eddy out, and dragged him back inside, saying decisively, "Explain it to her clearly."
"I did, but she doesn't believe me!" Eddy didn't dare to be rude to Diana.
Diana might look pampered, but Eddy knew how skilled she was, given her impressive parents.
"Tears are precious. Don't waste them on someone unworthy," Diana handed a tissue to the girl, her presence providing a sense of security. "Take your time. I'll back you up."
Eddy was stunned. "Aren't we on the same side?"
"Who said I'm on your side?" Diana said mercilessly.
Eddy's girlfriend wiped her tears, her eyes red. "Will you really back me up?"
"As long as it's his fault, yes." Diana stated the condition.
"Last night, he told me he was going to a friend's graduation party. He even sent me photos and videos," Eddy's girlfriend said slowly, showing her phone to Diana. "Here it is."
Diana opened it and confirmed the video was real. "This is real."
Eddy's girlfriend was stunned, her eyelashes still wet with tears.
"The friend he mentioned is me," Diana clarified her identity to avoid misunderstanding. "I'm Diana, and we left together last night."
"But..." Eddy's girlfriend became more wary of Diana, instinctively thinking she might be lying too, given her friendship with Eddy.
Diana asked, "But what?"
"This morning, my friend sent me another video," Eddy's girlfriend said, feeling very conflicted. "He was hugging and kissing other women in it. But he insists my friend faked it."
Eddy looked a bit guilty. He quickly retorted, "Isn't that true? Your friend has tried to stir things up more than once. She just can't stand seeing you happy."
"Shut up," Diana scolded him.
Eddy felt bitter but didn't dare to speak.
"Can I see the video?" Diana habitually wanted to understand the situation before making a decision.
Eddy's girlfriend hesitated but handed over the phone.
Seeing himself about to be exposed, Eddy quickly pulled Diana aside. "I've seen that video. It's fake, clearly edited."
Their pulling and tugging made Eddy's girlfriend uncomfortable. Even though she knew they were friends, she still felt unhappy.
"Take your hand off," Diana always kept her distance from male friends and scolded him, "You have a girlfriend, be more mindful."
Eddy obediently withdrew his hand, knowing he was in trouble.
Because of this, Eddy's girlfriend's impression of Diana improved significantly.
Diana was watching the video. As Eddy's girlfriend said, Eddy was hugging and kissing two women.
The scene made Diana frown.
"The video is real," Diana returned the phone, concluding, "He cheated."
"I didn't," Eddy defended himself, still liking his girlfriend, who was gentle and obedient. "I admit the video is real, but it was before I started dating her."
"Really?" Diana saw through him instantly.
Eddy quickly nodded. "Of course, I wouldn't lie to you."
"If that's the case, explain why you're wearing the same necklace and outfit as last night." Diana disliked men who deceived women, even if they were her friends.
