Chapter 577 There Must Be Some Juicy Gossip

Richard was chilling at home, waiting for Elara to swing by. He felt quite concerned and caring towards Elara.

He was lounging on the couch in some light gray casual clothes, looking half-asleep as he flipped through a medical book. He had this laid-back vibe going on.

About thirty minutes later, there was a knock at the door.

Thinking it was Elara, Richard got up to answer it. Before he could even see who it was, someone zipped past him like a cat.

"This time, I didn't climb through the window; you actually opened the door for me," Brian said, looking as youthful as ever but with a hint of maturity. "You can't kick me out like last time."

Richard, with his usual mix of indifference and coldness, said, "Get out."

"Why are you so unreasonable?" Brian thought Richard was really hard to win over.

"Here's your last chance; I'll count to three," Richard didn't want Elara to gossip about him. "If you don't leave, don't blame me for kicking you out."

Brian casually lay down on the sofa and replied, "Go ahead, break my arms and legs if you must; otherwise, I'll just crawl back."

Richard walked over, his 6-foot-2 frame casting a shadow.

Brian was a bit scared, but he was determined to stay.

"One," Richard looked down at Brian.

Brian helped him count, "Two."

Richard, unfazed, continued, "Two."

After all these years, why was Richard still so serious?

"Three," Richard said, reaching out to grab Brian.

Brian had been waiting for this. As Richard's hand came down, Brian grabbed his wrist and yanked him onto the sofa.

Richard hadn't seen that coming and stumbled onto Brian.

In that moment, Brian's eyes sparkled with triumph.

Richard's eyes were icy.

"Am I interrupting?" Elara stood at the door, looking stunned. "You guys continue; I'll close the door for you."

With that, Elara closed the door and waited outside.

Since when was Richard so open, not even closing the door while flirting?

Brian's smile vanished, and he asked Richard, "Who was that woman just now?"

"Does it concern you?" Richard got up from the sofa, still in his lazy, indifferent manner.

"Of course," Brian was more arrogant now, without the previous guilt. "I've been chasing you for years. Isn't it reasonable to want to know about the people around you?"

"Crazy," Richard muttered, turning to open the door for Elara.

Brian followed, about to say something when Richard opened the door.

Elara looked over, about to greet Richard, but her eyes landed on the handsome Brian behind him. "The person on the sofa with you just now was a guy?"

Elara had heard about Richard's romantic history.

But she had always taken it with a grain of salt. After all, Richard was a good-looking guy; it was normal for both men and women to be into him.

But now she saw it with her own eyes—Richard and a guy on the sofa!

"Give me your stuff," Richard said, not bothering to explain, motioning for Elara to hand over her suitcase.

"No, I'll stay at a hotel," Elara said, moving her suitcase behind her and taking a couple of steps back. "You two should nurture your relationship."

Elara had come here thinking Richard lived alone for years. Clearly, that wasn't the case.

Brian was wondering, 'Who is this?'

Richard walked out, grabbed Elara's suitcase, and brought it inside. "He's just an irrelevant person, you don't need to mind him."

"Who are you calling irrelevant?" Brian objected.

Richard shot him a glare.

Brian was furious! But he couldn't really fight Richard.

"Uncle Richard," Elara walked in, tentatively and curiously asking, "Is this your future partner?"

Brian glanced at the two of them and asked Elara, "Is he your uncle?"

Elara nodded. "Yes."

"You two don't look that different in age," Brian immediately took Elara's bag, not treating himself as an outsider at all. "Come in and sit, what would you like to drink? I'll get it for you."

Richard gave Brian a puzzled look.

"Water is fine," Elara regretted coming, not for any other reason, just not wanting to disrupt their interaction.

"Wait a moment, I'll get it for you," Brian put her bag down and immediately went to get the water.

Richard placed the suitcase in the prepared bedroom, grabbing some snacks for Elara while saying, "He has nothing to do with me, just ignore him."

"How can you teach her that?" Brian came over with a glass of water.

Elara coughed lightly, her bad mood suddenly lifting.

"Don't listen to Richard's nonsense," Brian placed the water in front of her, whispering, "He's just shy, embarrassed to admit our relationship."

"I understand," Elara replied obediently, her eyes full of smiles.

Brian's fondness for Elara grew.

Richard felt that if Brian and Elara continued to get along, things would get out of hand. "If you keep messing around with him, I'll throw your luggage out."

"Alright!" Elara blurted out.

Richard and Brian didn't expect Elara to say that.

"I think it's not appropriate for a girl like me to stay here," Elara began to find various excuses, not wanting to disrupt their stable relationship. "I'll stay at Autumn's place."

"Stay put," Richard saw through Elara's thoughts, still in his lazy manner. "If you leave even a day early, I'll tell your parents about your past."

Brian sat next to Elara, chatting with her, "Listen to Richard. I haven't won him over yet, I need you to put in a good word for me."

Richard sneered, his lazy demeanor was accompanied by a hint of coldness.

Elara held her water cup, drinking quietly, lowering her presence.

She could now be 100% sure that Brian held a special place in Richard's heart.

This was the first time Elara had seen Richard show such emotions. There must be some juicy gossip!
