Chapter 368 "I'm Not Going to Eat You. What Are You Afraid of Me for?"

"Yeah," Daphne admitted.

Charles stayed silent, knowing his fate but still reluctant to leave Daphne and disappear.

On the way to the hospital, neither Charles nor Daphne spoke. The bodyguard drove as fast as possible.

While Charles was being treated, Daphne got a message from Benjamin asking where she was. She told him.

Half an hour later, Benjamin showed up at the hospital.

Daphne was waiting for Charles in the hallway when she saw Benjamin. "Benjamin."

He quickly walked over, glanced at the closed door, and asked, "Why are you at the hospital?"

Daphne explained everything. She usually didn't rely on others, but she was lost this time.

Declan and Charles were both innocent, but only one personality could control the body.

"He probably isn't a new personality," Benjamin said, pulling her to sit down.

He was about to explain more but noticed her cold hands. "Why are your hands so cold?"

Daphne thought, 'Isn't it normal for hands to be cold in winter?'

Benjamin took off his scarf, wrapped it around her, and handed her a hand warmer. "Take this."

Daphne was puzzled, thinking, 'What is this?'

When she didn't take it, Benjamin placed the hand warmer in her palm and covered her hands with his.

Instantly, her hands warmed up.

"Don't worry too much about Charles," Benjamin said while warming her hands. "I'll explain everything after his wound is stitched up."

"Okay," Daphne agreed.

The hallway was quiet with few people passing by.

Feeling Benjamin's warm hands, Daphne's heart raced.

She bit her lip, still not used to this. "Benjamin, my hands are warm now."

He felt her hands, still a bit cold, and raised an eyebrow. "Do you know what warm means?"

"I'm not gonna bite. What are you afraid of?" he teased.

"Why do you have a hand warmer?" Daphne asked, changing the subject.

Benjamin raised an eyebrow. "Want to know?"

Daphne felt like it was a trap.

"For someone I like," Benjamin said, teasing. "She isn't afraid of the cold, but I worry she might get cold."

Daphne regretted asking.

"The scarf too," Benjamin added.

Many think loving someone means giving without expecting anything in return. But for Benjamin, it meant telling her. Daphne was slow in matters of the heart; if you didn't tell her, she'd never know. And if she didn't know, she'd never fall for you.

"I'll give it back," Daphne said, feeling guilty. "It's not right for me to use something meant for her."

Benjamin smiled, eyes twinkling with amusement. "It's fine. She said you could use her things, including her future boyfriend."

Daphne chose to ignore that. She had no idea how to respond.

Seeing her serious and silent, Benjamin's amusement grew. He almost wanted to pinch her cheek.

After a while, the doctor came out. "The wound's stitched up. Change the dressing daily and keep it dry."

"Thank you," Daphne said politely.

Charles emerged, looking a bit pale but otherwise fine. He was happy to see Daphne but quickly noticed the scarf around her neck. Then he saw Benjamin, and his joy vanished. He thought, 'Did Daphne call Benjamin?'

"Here's the medicine," the doctor handed it to Daphne. "Bring him back next week to remove the stitches."

"Okay," Daphne agreed. She took the medicine and told Charles, "Let's go home."

"What about him?" Charles asked, glaring at Benjamin.

Daphne glanced at Benjamin, silently asking if he was coming with them.

"I'll go with you," Benjamin said, taking the medicine from Daphne so she could keep her hands warm.

Daphne didn't refuse.

Charles was unhappy but didn't want to upset Daphne. He feared she'd forget him, so he buried his feelings.

The three of them walked out together. Benjamin had driven there.

Charles didn't want Benjamin sitting in the front with Daphne, so he quickly got in the passenger seat.

Benjamin didn't mind. He opened the door for Daphne.

As she was about to get in, she stared at the car.

"What's wrong?" Benjamin asked.

Daphne, still holding the hand warmer, bit her lip. "Benjamin, have I seen this car before?"

"Yes, I drove you in it before," Benjamin said casually.

Daphne's eyes met his, and she remembered everything. No wonder the car seemed familiar. She had seen it in Luke's garage when she went to see him about Aubrey. She hadn't connected it to Benjamin.

Seeing her stare, Benjamin asked, "Do you like it?"

Daphne was confused. "Huh?"

"If you like it, I'll give it to you," Benjamin offered.

"No," Daphne refused, changing the subject. "Let's go back first."

She got into the car, her mind racing with new memories of her and Benjamin.

Benjamin noticed her distracted state and grew suspicious.
