Chapter 589 Are There Guides for Something Like This?
Seeing Jesse so serious, Elara decided not to push him any further.
Once they got home, Jesse started tidying up the bedroom so she could get some rest.
"Wait," Elara stopped him just as he was about to leave.
Jesse's face stayed cold. "What's up?"
"Stay with me tonight," Elara said.
Jesse froze, clearly not expecting that.
"From tonight on, you're sleeping in the same bed with me," Elara said seriously, locking eyes with him.
"We're not married yet, it's not right," Jesse instinctively refused, looking a bit uncomfortable. "After we get married, I'll stay with you."
"Are you rejecting me?" Elara started to stir things up.
Jesse looked a bit confused.
Elara stood there, very serious. "Are you rejecting me because I went out with other people before?"
"If you hadn't mentioned it, I would've forgotten," Jesse straightened up, unlocking his phone. "Send me the details of the people you went out with; I'll have them checked."
Elara was speechless.
Jesse then reached for her phone. "Take me off your blacklist."
"What kind of checks are you going to have them do?" Elara asked tentatively.
"All kinds of checks," Jesse didn't trust those people. "To see if they're healthy."
"You're so dumb," Elara didn't even want to talk anymore.
Jesse still didn't get it, "What's wrong?"
"Didn't I tell you during the day that I haven't married Willie?" Elara wanted to hit him.
Jesse nodded.
"If all of that had been fake, do you think the other things I said could have been true?" Elara asked him back.
Jesse didn't know how to answer. From what he knew about Elara, she wouldn't have done that. But last time, she did go out with him without knowing that the account belonged to him. If it wasn't him, wouldn't that mean she did go out with someone?
"Answer me," Elara demanded.
"I don't know," Jesse answered honestly.
Elara wanted to know why Jesse gave such an outrageous answer.
"Listen carefully," Elara spoke seriously, word by word, "I have never gone out with anyone other than you. Got it?"
Jesse nodded.
Elara asked, "What do you mean?"
"If Jason wasn't me last time, wouldn't that count as going out with someone else?" Jesse thought about the situation and the room setup, still feeling a bit uneasy.
Elara's eyes sparkled with mischief. "Calling you dumb is really not an exaggeration."
Jesse truly didn't understand, his mind full of confusion over her words.
"If I didn't know that Jason was you, do you think I would have gone out with him?" Elara asked.
"How did you know Jason was me?" Jesse asked, providing an explanation, "The profile picture and account description of that account were completely different from my main account, you had no reason to find out."
Elara smiled, "Guess."
"Did you ask Ms. Murphy to check that secrect account?" Jesse guessed.
"Isn't Jason very similar to Jesse? From the moment you added me, I suspected Jason was you," Elara confessed, showing how smart girls could be, "But to make sure I wasn't wrong, I borrowed your phone to make a call."
Jesse's memory drifted back to that moment. Thinking about it, a bit of emotion flickered on his usually cold face. "You borrowed my phone not to make a call, but to confirm my identity?"
"Yep," Elara nodded.
Jesse pursed his lips. Back then, he did wonder if Elara suspected him. But he checked the order of the apps running in the background and didn't see any changes.
Even though he didn't find any numbers in the call history later, he just figured she had deleted the call record.
"Am I smart?" Elara saw Jesse looking a bit down and felt pretty pleased with herself.
Except for having better grades than Jesse in school, she was almost always outdone by him after graduation. Now she finally had a win.
"Yeah," Jesse admitted.
He also knew why he lost so badly. One reason was the guilt he felt after rejecting Elara, and the other was that she was someone he trusted and liked, so he didn't scrutinize every detail like he would with a business partner.
"To make up for the crap I went through before, from today on, you will pursue me," Elara brought the topic back to the main point. "When you win me over, we'll get married."
Jesse was about to ask if they weren't already together, but then he realized he hadn't actually pursued her, so he should.
"Okay," he agreed.
That night, under Elara's strong request, Jesse obediently slept next to her.
For the first time having someone else in bed, Jesse was super nervous, so much so that when Elara put her hand on him and hugged him, his whole body tensed up.
Elara noticed and murmured, "What are you so afraid of? I'm not gonna eat you."
"Nothing." Jesse's voice was very low.
"Don't worry," Elara fondled his face, her eyes closed, speaking indistinctly, "I won't have sex with you until you're mentally prepared."
Jesse turned his head slightly, "Isn't that usually something a guy would say?"
"You're shy, aren't you?" Elara snuggled into his arms, feeling warm and comfortable, "If you're shy, then I can't be shy. If both of us are embarrassed to bring this up, we'll never have a sex life."
Jesse felt extremely awkward, still not used to this kind of topic.
"Don't worry, I'll look up more guides," Elara was very sleepy but still comforted Jesse, "So your first experience won't be too bad."
Jesse's ears and cheeks were burning red at this moment, luckily it was dark, otherwise, he would be even more embarrassed. He swallowed and asked uncertainly, "Are there guides for something like this?"
"As long as you're willing, you can look up guides for anything in the world." Elara's voice was soft.
Jesse's heart started to beat faster.
Letting a girl handle this kind of thing didn't seem right.
"Let's sleep," Jesse held Elara in his arms, feeling a bit awkward for the first time sleeping with someone, "Good night."
Elara replied, "Good night."
That night, Elara slept very soundly, but Jesse kept waking up.
Sometimes he worried that Elara's blanket wasn't covering her properly, other times he worried that he was taking up too much of her space.
