Chapter 750 Never Walk the Same Path Twice

"Do you think I would joke with you about something like this?" Caspian's expression remained as calm as ever, with a hint of coolness around him.

Seeing this, Bodhi realized that things were not as he had previously thought. "Do you really need two hundred million dollars?"

"Yes," Diana responded, supporting Caspian.

Bodhi instinctively took a sip of his coffee, his gaze wandering.

Seeing him like this, Caspian could guess his thoughts clearly.

Two hundred million dollars was exactly the maximum amount Bodhi could come up with at the moment.

Since he wanted to meet Diana's parents and gain some benefits, he had to know that even meeting them required a threshold.

"I'll consider it," Bodhi said, already having made up his mind but still maintaining his facade. "I'll contact you as soon as I gather the money."

"Okay," Caspian replied.

Bodhi didn't stay any longer. He called his assistant and left.

Watching them flee, Caspian's eyes deepened.

Diana's attention was all on Caspian, so she didn't care about Bodhi's actions and thoughts. She just asked him, "Why are you here? Aren't you busy?"

"I was afraid he might say something inappropriate in front of you." Caspian didn't hide it from her.

Ever since Alvin told him that Bodhi was inquiring about his marriage with Diana, he had someone keep an eye on his movements.

He was just afraid that Bodhi would say something unnecessary to Diana when he wasn't around.

Diana was marrying him, not his entire family.

"Don't worry, I can handle whatever he says," Diana smiled at him, not wanting him to feel too burdened. "You should go back to your work. Remember to find me when you're done."

Caspian looked at her with a bit of confusion.

He was right in front of her, and she was still telling him to work?

"What's wrong?" Diana asked tentatively when she saw he wasn't moving.

"It's almost noon," Caspian hinted.

Diana glanced at the time and urged him to go, "Then hurry up, don't worry about me."

Caspian fell silent. Diana used to be quite smart, but why did she suddenly become so clueless?

"Really, don't worry about me." Diana thought he was concerned. She knew how busy people could get. "I have a lunch date with Charles, so I'll go up and eat with him later."

"What about me?" Caspian asked her.

Diana didn't react immediately. "What?"

"Aren't you planning to have lunch with me?" Caspian asked directly.

Diana blinked her beautiful eyes, looking a bit expectant. "Aren't you in a hurry to get back to work?"

"It can wait." Caspian wanted to have lunch with her.

Although the proposal plan required a lot of time, there was still time for meals.

"Then let's go!" Diana took his hand, her eyes smiling beautifully. "I just saw a new restaurant over there, and the food suits both of us."

"Okay." Caspian went with her.

As long as he was with her, he felt happy no matter what they did.

After they arrived at the restaurant, Diana let Caspian order. During this time, she told Charles that she wouldn't have lunch with him.

While waiting for the food, Diana thought about what had just happened, her face showing hesitation.

"What's wrong?" Caspian noticed her unusual expression.

Diana bit her lip and said, "Do you think your dad will really try to gather the money?"

If he really tried... wouldn't that be awkward?

"No," Caspian, although he had little contact with Bodhi, understood his character. "What he said before leaving was just an excuse. He won't prepare the money, he won't even think about it."

"That's good." Diana felt relieved.

After leaving the café, Bodhi got into his car and left.

The assistant, thinking about what had happened earlier, tentatively asked, "Mr. Bodhi Garcia, are you planning to gather the money for Mr. Caspian Garcia?"

"No," Bodhi, short-sighted and only concerned with his own interests, replied. "What I said earlier was just an excuse. The money was too much for me."

"But if you consider it an investment, it's a sure-win situation," the assistant discussed with him.

Bodhi frowned. He clearly didn't agree with this idea.

"The Murphy Group and the Reynolds Group are both big companies," the assistant continued, seeing things more clearly. "As long as we maintain a good relationship with them, it will benefit our company's future development."

Given their company's current size, even if the Murphy Group gave them a little "leftover," it would be enough to keep them going for a long time.

The difference between a listed company and an unlisted one was huge.

"How can you be sure that the two hundred million dollars I give will be an investment? What if it ends up in Caspian's pocket?" Bodhi never trusted Caspian.

To him, Caspian was an outsider. How could he possibly give him so much money?

The assistant, thinking about Caspian's behavior, said, "Mr. Caspian Garcia isn't that kind of person."

"The Garcia family only has one son," Bodhi didn't care about Caspian at all. He was only interested in the connections behind Diana. "Don't call him that again."

The assistant opened his mouth but ultimately didn't say anything.

He thought Bodhi was a bit foolish.

If he were Bodhi, the first thing he would do was to mend his relationship with Caspian.

Although last time when Bodhi asked for his help, Caspian coldly refused and didn't think much of Bodhi.

But he could tell that if Bodhi kept playing the victim in front of Caspian, Caspian would eventually help Bodhi's company.

As long as he stepped in, the company wouldn't be in its current state.

Unfortunately, Bodhi always thought Caspian was useless.

Even though he was now the president of the Lancelot Group, Bodhi believed it was Charles's support and media hype that gave him his current status.

"So, the marriage..." the assistant probed.

"Why are you telling me about outsider's marriage?" After seeing Diana and Caspian's attitude, Bodhi knew his plan wouldn't work.

The assistant didn't say anything more. After all, he was just an employee.

Caspian knew Bodhi well, so he was sure that after this, he wouldn't bother Diana again.
