Chapter 754 Louis is Her Confidence
Diana thought Caspian suggesting they stay at a hotel tonight meant he was finally getting it, but it turned out that she was overthinking it.
Even after getting a room, they just stayed together innocently.
Even when they kissed, he didn't make any moves.
It all seemed a bit strange.
"Caspian," Diana, still half-asleep, called out to him in a slightly coquettish tone.
Caspian, who had been waiting patiently beside her, responded, "What's up?"
"Am I not attractive to you?" Diana knew he was sexually capable, but still found it odd. "Other people get a room to have sex, but with you, it's just sleeping?"
"No marriage, just sleep," Caspian firmly adhered to this principle.
Diana pressed on, "Don't you have any thoughts at all?"
"I do," Caspian admitted honestly.
"Then why don't you take some small steps?" Diana questioned him, her sleepy eyes carrying a hint of accusation.
"Louis said we could only sleep, nothing else," Caspian confessed, without hesitation, throwing Louis under the bus. "I promised him, so I have to follow through."
Diana looked puzzled, "You tell Louis when we get a room?"
Hearing this, Caspian froze for a moment.
He quickly realized he had let something slip.
"Are you stupid?" Diana thought Caspian was too honest and always mistreated by her brother. "What happens between us should stay between us. There's no need to report everything to Louis."
"Okay," Caspian didn't explain further.
He knew this was something that couldn't be explained clearly.
The more he explained, the more likely he was to slip up.
"Let's brush our teeth and then go to bed," Diana handed him his toothbrush, already having new ideas in her head. "Just follow my lead later."
Caspian paused, holding the toothbrush, and looked at her with a bit more intensity in his eyes.
Diana urged him to hurry up and wash up.
That night, they slept next to each other.
Diana's hand kept wandering over Caspian's body, and despite his efforts to stop her, the temperature under the covers rose significantly.
In the end, if not for his strong self-control, some things might have gotten out of hand.
The next morning, Caspian took Diana to the airport on time.
Louis also headed to Lyra's house.
As she sat in the driver's seat, Lyra gave Louis her address and added, "Their personalities aren't great. If they make you uncomfortable, handle it your way."
In other words, no need to treat them as her family.
In her world, besides her late mother, only her grandparents were her family.
"Okay," Louis understood her meaning.
The distance from Louis's house to the Cole Villa was quite far, and even without traffic, it took over two hours to get there.
When Lyra got out of the car, Louis called out to her, "I'll come in ten minutes."
"Alright," Lyra nodded.
After closing the car door, Lyra stepped into the Cole Villa.
The butler immediately went to report her arrival.
"Dad, Lyra's back," a girl around eighteen or nineteen said to the living room before greeting Lyra. "Lyra, you should have told us you were coming home."
Lyra ignored her and walked in.
She wasn't here to argue with this person; she was here for what her mother left her.
As soon as she entered the living room, Vance Cole's stern gaze fell on her, clearly displeased. "Oh, so you do know how to come back."
"I'm here to get what my mother left me," Lyra got straight to the point, not wasting time. "You've delayed it for four years. It's time to give it to me."
"If you want it, you'll follow my arrangements," Vance, with his strong control and machismo, said, "The Silverwood family discussed a marriage with me a few days ago. If you agree to marry, the item will be your dowry."
To Vance, Lyra only had value in a marriage alliance.
He had a new family now and didn't care about Lyra's future filial piety.
"That item belongs to me," Lyra reminded him.
Vance's gaze, full of pressure, bore down on her, his aura strong.
It was clear he was angry.
"Lyra, that's not right," Vance's younger daughter came over, always stirring trouble. "Even though your mother left it to you, she belonged to Dad, so her things naturally belong to him."
Lyra gave her a cold look.
Vance put down his financial magazine, the glasses on his face adding to his sternness. "Brielle understands this, but you, as the older sister, don't?"
"Are you giving it or not?" Lyra didn't want to waste words with him.
"I said, you'll get it when you marry," Vance wanted to control her and squeeze out her last bit of value. "Otherwise, you won't get it."
"Perfect, I'm registering my marriage with my fiancé in a few days," Lyra extended her hand, showing them the ring on her finger. "Now is the perfect time."
With those words, everyone's eyes in the living room turned to her.
Vance's deep eyes showed a hint of anger.
Brielle didn't believe it, thinking Lyra had bought herself a ring to deceive them. "Lyra, stop joking. With your dull personality, who would like you?"
Lyra ignored her.
Her indifference made Brielle feel humiliated.
She turned to Vance, clearly not wanting Lyra to have it easy. "Dad, you need to control Lyra. She's been wild all these years, lying through her teeth."
"You have a fiancé?" Vance frowned at her.
Lyra nodded, "Yes."
"Who?" Vance wanted to know if it was true.
If it was false, he would contact the Silverwood family to set the wedding date soon.
If it was true, he would make it false.
Lyra glanced at his stern, somewhat angry face and told him the truth, "Louis Reynolds."
Both of them looked at her as if she were crazy.
They knew who Louis was, one of the most untouchable figures in the Gedser circle. Families like theirs couldn't even get a meeting with him.
And she said he was her fiancé?
She must be mad!
"Do you know who Louis is?" Brielle only wanted to see her humiliated, her eyes full of disdain. "Not even as a mistress or a bed partner would he want you."
"The marriage with the Silverwood family will be arranged soon," Vance thought she was delusional and ignored her. "Stay home these days. Once you're married, I'll give you what your mother left you."
