Chapter 49 I Don't Believe a Word You Say.
Charles's gaze fell on his incessantly chattering mouth, wishing he could just seal it shut with a needle. Did he really think Daphne wouldn't be capable? The only reason he said that was to find out why she was hiding her hacking skills.
As her confidant, he didn't even know about these things. Seeing that their boss was genuinely angry, Mark also joined in and asked, "Miss Murphy, why didn't you ever mention that you're a hacker?"
"Why should I?" Daphne replied.
"It sounds cool, doesn't it?" Mark added. Both Daphne and Charles remained silent.
"Just kidding." Mark realized how absurd his words sounded, pushed his glasses up, and rephrased, "I just think it's a shame that such impressive skills go unnoticed."
"There's nothing to be disappointed about," Daphne didn't really care about these things.
When she was young, she shared the same thoughts as Mark, thinking that being able to search for results of cases with a few clicks on the computer was really cool and impressive.
Back then, she aspired to learn hacking and become a formidable hacker when she grew up. But as she grew older, that dream gradually faded away.
The information she could find using hacking techniques could also be accessed by the police, the military, and even other secret organizations of the country. There was another reason.
When she was in middle school, her skills in this field had already reached an advanced level, and her mentor who had introduced her to it retired from the internet.
Maybe it was due to teenage rebellion or the burning of justice within her heart, but whenever she came across a case, she would investigate it and provide the information to the authorities.
After doing this numerous times, she began to dig deeper and witnessed the darkest scenes in the world. That happened on a foreign website called the Dark Web. She witnessed many gruesome and terrifying things, thus realizing that some individuals in this world were devoid of humanity, even more heartless than demons in hell.
Since then, she partially retreated, only secretly providing information to the police when they were in a tight spot. But eventually, she learned that what she could find, they could find as well. So, she gradually faded away.
She was grateful that she lived in the embrace of her motherland, where it was much safer compared to abroad.
"Alright." Daphne brought herself back from her thoughts and saw that the progress on the screen was already at 100%. She opened the newly created folder on the desktop and said, "The true cause of Kayla's accident is all here. Take a look yourselves."
After speaking, she gently rotated the computer and pushed it toward them.
Mark took the mouse and started opening each file one by one. It took him an hour to finish reviewing all the documents. After finishing the last one, he felt a sense of disbelief, "The plan is excessively meticulous for just a car accident." But what shocked him the most was still Daphne's skills.
In this short amount of time, she managed to obtain phone call recordings between the mastermind and others. That was way too impressive.
"Boss, Miss Murphy is truly amazing! Boss, Miss Murphy really didn't do it."
Mark is almost half of Daphne. "As long as we give this to the police, Miss Murphy will be proven innocent."
"Miss Murphy is loved by Marcus, and please think twice before you speak." Mark took the computer and added, "besides, this is real evidence, not a forgery."
Charles was left deep in thought.
Mark left with the computer in his arms. Before he got into the driver's seat and drove away, he sent a message to Daphne: "Miss Murphy, if the boss goes too far later, please send me a message, and I will call the CEO and the others over."
After sending it, he still felt like hadn’t shared even the slightest of his joy yet. And sent another text. “Click on a chat dialog box to get an exciting story”
Gino: “Okay fine done.”
Mark: “Mrs. Lancelot, is a super great hacker!”
Gino: “So is my boss.”
Mark: “Mrs. Lancelot is still very good.”
Gino: "My boss can beat you ten by himself.”
Mark: “Mrs. Lancelot can play twenty at a time.”
Gino: “My boss can kill countless people in a second.”
